A friend of mine told me that the next Elder Scrolls was coming out this year. So far I have found websites that confirm this rumor, and others that say 'Don't get your hopes up'.

Morrowind was my first RPG (yes, I was a late starter) so ES has a very special place in my heart. Does anyone have any information on ES V?

Yes yes, I know how big ES was to you.

Honestly, I have no idea. But I guess I'm one of the friends that'll tell you to not get your hopes up.

Highly doubt it....its only been 2 years since Fallout 3.

Unless Beth has another team working on it for last 2 years without anyone knowing.

But yeah. Magic 8 Ball says Unlikely.

I read this not long ago on Wiki: "In late October 2008, shortly after the release of Fallout 3, Bethesda's Publishing Executive, Paul Oughton, indicated that the series' fifth installment could be released in 2010. Zenimax, the owner of Bethesda Softworks, had trademarked the name "Skyrim" in 2006, but its relation to the fifth installment of the series is uncertain." And we all know that Wikipedia is always correct. ;)

according to a press release of the first ES novel; Infernal City (which was... passable) Vardenfell has gone the way of Atlantis because the Vivec fucked off and that caused the Moon to fall and cause Red Mountain to erupt.

Also they said the two novels being released are going to link Oblivion with the next opus which will take place something like 200 years after the Oblivion Crisis (please no guns, please no guns, please no guns).

And also they've denied working on anything at the moment, so in my opinion they are working on a new engine (hopefully a fuck-load better then the bloody GameBryo engine). My dreams are at least 3 explorable provinces :D
