Is Fallout: New Vegas stll out of the question? Because personly i didnt think it was better then Fallout 3 but it was still a darn good game.
*sigh*

You people need to play the originals so you know what proper Falllout is.

Bethesda's was shallow and pedestrian compared to this.

-.-

That's because it's Oblivion with guns. When you start with that as source material then you're screwed from the start.

HI FOOLZ

Ok, so my list has narrowed considerably. At this point, Bayonetta and Castlevania are neck in neck for the honours. However, and I base this on the demo, I get the feeling that NFS: Hot Pursuit will take it. The same way COD4's demo convinced me that it would be magnificent. FNV would be up there, but it is BUGGY AS SHIT. And I don't just mean glitchy, I mean bugs that can be replicated. No progression blockers so far, but having the game crash everytime you repair a certain armour does not fill one with hope.

Kinda same - the (admittedly) little I've played of Bayonetta I'm really digging, even if the story is fucking UNBEARABLE. Castlevania's something I need to sink more time into, but I do like some of the mechanics.

I should post up that list of games I'm considering for my stuff - because there's a lot of good that came out this year.

Though kinda on the same track - how about biggest disappointments or surprises of the year?

Disappointment would best be defined by Valkyria Chronicles II - game was great, but all the fucking anime cliche bullshit made it really hard to get into. Surprise would have to be either Blur or Nier - was shocked at just how good both games really were.

Also Foolz, no FIFA 11?

Disappointment of the year is easily Red Dead. If I had my review again, it'd come down from the 7.5(?) I gave it to about a 6 or 5. So much wasted potential, and buggy as hell. Unfortunately, they only really got game breaking after I filmed my review, which sucks.

Surprise is easily Castlevania. Didn't expect anything from it, let alone GOTY material.

At this point, I must agree with Jase and say Castlevania is up at the top of my list. Wasn't expecting much from it, but am pleasantly surprised with the whole package.
I am also going to throw Just Cause 2 in there for good measure; it gave me the most fun I've had with a game for a long time.

Hell no lol. I have no idea what my GOTY would be, actually, but it certainly ain't that. It's awesome, but got far too many prolbems as well.

TFUII was the biggest disappointment....they fixed alot of the combat bugs to make it playable....but the rest was shallower than Lara Bingle.

See, I have not encountered the Armour Repairing bug in FNV.....had it slow to crawl when loading once because I played it for 6 hours, but yeah....I've been trouble free. Probably because NCR armour is so shit I don't bother with it unless its Ranger Patrol Armour.

Agreed, but the better pansyball was definitely PES.

It's been the year of Beat 'em Ups, so it has been a good year for me so far. So far, I don't think anything can topple Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for me. And yes I am the biggest fan of the series around here and that makes me bias. However, that also makes me more critical and expectant of it as well, and as Jason said, it was a welcome surprise.

Others on my list would be Darksiders and Bayonetta. 'Tis been a good year...
