Word on the street is that there's some big thing starting this weekend about some tournament. Don't know if you've heard of it. Since it's meant to be pretty big, thought I'd get a thread out so we can discuss it.

So who's your pick to win?

If I were a betting man, I'd say Spain will win this.

However, sportsball isn't necessarily my thing, so I'm more interested in who'll perform the most on-field theatrics. Will Italy be able to repeat their Logie-worthy performance from the 2006 World Cup or will another nation rise to the top with their unholy acting talent?

I would watch Calculon play soccer.

I want Zidane back. Zidane's a pretty cool guy, eh headbutts mouthy Italiens and doesn't afraid of anything.

I'm not sure who will win, but i think the south american teams are the weakest they have been for a long time, a european team will win, probably england or spain.

I've been reading that the Philippines have a strong team this year.

So what's everyone's take on the Vuvuzela?

If you're not aware - basically, it's a horn that's played at South African football matches. If you watch highlights, you're bound to notice a constant trumpet sound going on in the game - that's the Vuvu.

Do you think it should be banned, or as a part of South African football culture, should it stay?

It should be banned. It's fine for the South African supporters (though I'd hate to be sitting next to them), but when EVERYONE is using them its pointless. It's not supporting your team, it's just making noise. Annoying noise.

It should stay, training people to put long tubular objects in their mouth can only be good.

And Australia are out of the cup, and with that, football is dead in this country for another four years.

Oh well, back to watching the AFL continuing to fuck up everything as per usual and being a terrible organization.

This just in: the reigning world champions of diving - Italy - have been knocked out by the mighty Slovaks. I might actually keep watching the world cup now that those pansy game wreckers are gone.

Turns out the Germans are shiite after all. Blame Paul the octopus! Seriously, the German fans are blaming Paul the octopus!

Anyhow, Spain and Holland final, so the two worthiest teams made it, and my head says the Spanish will win, and has anyone noticed, the Spanish teams is one of the few teams that refuses to dive, like say the Italians. So just on that info, i reckon Spain, but my heart tells me the Dutch.

3rd and 4th place playoff? Who gives a fuck

That's not true. Villa dived against the Paraguayans. Players in all teams dive, it's part of soccer now. I conserve by masculine energy by limiting the time I spend watching fags play with their balls to only one month every four years.
