Looks pretty real but the design seems a bit um "prehistoric"

It'll take a miracle to kick the I-Phone of its own pedestal though.

Yup, looks like a Droid phone.

Will be interested to see what the Playstation part entails.

Completely fucking Dumb move.

Since its been pretty much confirmed devs have PSP2's and PSP2 dev kits....

Why do they keep insisting on cluttering the market with multiple devices that do the same things.

Just pick one thing and make it good -.-

It's all about branding and it's too little too late. Apple have unfortunatley cornered the market and made all the kiddies belive iPhones are the must have accessary (ie Nike with Air Jordan back in the day). Made for cheap in a chinese/tawain sweatshop and sold for huge profit as its all about the imjage people want to portray.

I don't like the look of it. It will take a miracle to gain even a fraction of the market.

Pretty much.

Windows Phone's are setting their sights on taking Android's market share pretty much, and they have a chance to because no matter what Windows phone you buy, you'll know all the apps and shit will work on it because MS have dictated that any phone that runs Windows Phone 7 has to have the same specs, so its just the looks that are different. Which makes it easier for devs since they know what they have to work with.

Where as Google just threw Android out there and all the phones have different internal specs, which makes it a nightmare for devs to make shit for it.

So yeah, Sony should just kill this and focus on the PSP2.

meh andriods not as bad to code for as you are pointing out, most android phones are speced higher than thte iPhone and most of the decent games on it a ported from the iphone, Microsofts marketing of the windows phone has been almost non existant until now. Can't buy what I dont know exists. iPhone 4 and Android have beaten MS to the punch this year. i'll wait another 2 years and see whats out there then. But i aint going to be rushing out to buy a windows phone just to play a hand full of XBLA games 2 generations old that I can most likley play on my xbox with a real controller.

I like where sonly are heading wiht the built in controller pad and whats to say that the phone is not psp2 compliant in terms of hardware.

I'll take a D pad and buttons over a touch screen any day

Says they only need "4 lines of code" to run XBLA games on Windows 7 phone ... really? Has anything been released yet? What do you use as the controls?

Anyway should find out more about the Z1 tomorrow:

I doubt the PS Phone will be PSP2 compliant, because if the reports of the PSP2 being damn powerful are true I can't imagine this Android phone would be enough. However, unless they are completely deluded, I can't imagine calling a phone with a PS controller attached 'the most anticipated presentation of the decade'. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

I've got daBlob Revolution and Tetris on mine, both use the touch screen to control. Also played the demo of the Assassin's Creed game on there, and it controls surprisingly well using the touch screen.

But yeah there are probably 10 - 15, maybe 20 XBLA Games already on there with Achievements and the like

Im not saying its bad, im just saying its more difficult than it has to be, given that updates are handled by the Phone companies, so you could also end up with having a bunch of different versions out there on a bunch of different hardware specs.

It just complicates things necessarily. Plus MS have been hitting the advertising and product placement pretty hard, as when i'd picked mine up....the Optus shop had only had it for 1 - 2 days, so yeah.
