Predator 2.

Twas okay. Liked some of the weapons and what not. But the rest? Eh. Though it was a stupid idea to put it in LA.

Lars and the Real Girl

It's amazing how far other people are behind me in watching obscure movies because if my job.

I saw it quite a while ago now but I do remember it being pretty good, the almost reverent style they took to the story was refreshing.

Man, I remember those days...

Fantastic Planet

It's a French animated film from the early 70's. It's trippy as all hell.

Punisher War Zone - Brutally violent and decent enough in my opinion. One of the more graphically violent films i have seen.

I agree with the violence aspect but I had an issue with the storyline. I'm not going to spoil anything, but something big happens early on that, in my opinion, was not resolved satisfactorily by the film's conclusion. Some people may have been able to ignore it, but I couldn't. I felt as if they were building up to something poignant and then they chickened out.

I'm not sure why, but I enjoyed the first Punisher movie more.

Waltz with Bashir

This movie is Ari Folman's (the director) attempt to come to terms with his actions as a member of the Israel Defense Forces in the Lebanon war. Folman himself is the movie's protagonist, and the basic set-up is that he can't remember what happened during the war so he has to interview a few of his compatriots in order to try to fill in the blanks. Because of the way they are presented, these interviews seem as if they were real, but I have no idea if that is the case. The most notable thing about this movie is its visual style. It's an animated feature which looks like a cross between A Scanner Darkly and a modern Anime (i.e. the characters are drawn realistically but their motion is a little restricted). While watching the movie I thought to myself: "Everything looks really nice, but what's the point?". My original thoughts were that this design choice was just to make things "look nice". Well, by the film's conclusion I was proven to be very wrong. There is a definite reason for the animated style (I won't ruin it) and it contributes heavily to the film's emotional impact. I highly recommend this film for anyone looking for some thought-provoking entertainment that will leave a lasting impression.

Thomas Jane was win.

And anytime Travolta gets fucked up is a great movie.

I enjoyed that Punisher, but when he dropped out of the second one....it just lost its interest for me.

Same here. Was shocked by how entertaining it was.

Just finished watching Chopper. Good film. Bana does a great job.

If I haven't said this already, you must watch Black Dynamite for graet justice. KUNG FU TREACHERY!

Also, the Tom Jane Punisher was a bit cliche, but that's why it worked. I thought it was great. Randy Couture will always be the guy who wants to rape child molesters in Big Stan to me...
