Really? Mind if I ask why?

I just thought it was an ordinary film, I enjoyed the reimaging of stark. rather then stuck in a wheel chair.

But the taking his power core and him using his old one, freezing the bad guys suit in the atmosphere and other predictable things made it just a bit average.

The fact that you reckon the new ones not as good as that means i wont bother.

Went to see Iron Man 2 yesterday and I struggled to maintain my fanboyrection throughout. The Tony Stark scenes were great (due mostly to Downey Jr's charisma) but I found the Iron Man side of things to be a lot less spectacular than in the previous movie. The whole war-profiteer turned agent of peace angle of the first movie gave it a little substance, which is definitely lacking in this iteration which has production line robots serving as repulsor fodder and a main baddy who's motivation puts you to sleep.

When I tried to think of which bad dude would have been more appropriate I realised that Iron Man's gallery of antagonists is severely wanting for characters of interest. I guess the only alternative that would have entertained me is The Mandarin played as a crazy AZN wizard: "Ffukka yoo Toni Stark, ffukka yoo Wahr Masheen".

That's true. The only good things about the FF movies were the scenes they shoehorned in just to get Jessica Alba in her underpants.

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it (I laughed so hard I almost wet myself during Tony's birthday scene), I just didn't get as hard as I did during the original.

EDIT: FYI, I commemorated this post by drawing a pentagram on the floor and taking a dump in the middle. Man, did the Toys R' Us staff make a fuss!

You know...Black Widow's fight scene at Hammer's factory was the greatest thing ever to be put to film....

Went to see the Prince of Persia Movie.

I had fairly low expectations and when it started the way it did I let out a huge groan - I thought I was in for 2 more hours of prince rape (and I've had my fill of that from the first 360 PoP game). Much to my surprise the movie actually got better as it progressed and it ended up being fairly fun (Alfred Molina's character was hilarious). Although I'm not sure how much of my enjoyment came from simply seeing a manly Donnie Darko in action (mmm tasty).

Mystery Team

This is the debut feature film from the comedy troupe known as 'Derrick Comedy'. They've done a bunch of short online sketches and Mystery Team sees them expand into a longer narrative. Unlike most other movies spawned from sketch comedy origins, Mystery Team is not a collection of disjoint shorts but rather 100 minutes of continuous story centred around the adventures of a group of aging kid detectives. If you are like me and you like bright colours, toilet humour (literally) and hobo glory then this is the movie for you.

I've embedded a few of their shorts to give you a taste for their style (can you tell they trained at the UCB Theatre?):

I had to watch it for year 11 English. I enjoyed it at the time but I have seen it too many times. May have to rewatch it in a year or two to appreciate it again.
