So yeah, got done with the first episode of Monkey.

HOLY FUCK THIS SHOW IS AWESOME.

Admittedly, it is kinda hard to make out some of the voices at times, but otherwise, really enjoyed it.
Best thing is, the Voice over is Over the Top Stereotypical Asian done by the British....

Its fucking great

Oh, absolutely. And if the episodes that Brad talks about on the latest podcast are true (such as A GODDAMNED FRACTIONS MONSTER), then this is easily the best show ever.

I started watching the King of Fighters movie.

You ever know how when you watch an a bad adaptation, you start to wonder whether or not the people responsible actually took in any of the source material? It literally seems like this is the case. AND THIS IS JUST IN THE FIRST FIFTEEN MINUTES.

Oh, and there are at least five production houses credited, 10 producers, the same writer credited TWICE and SNK aren't even mentioned.

Picked up a couple of movies over the weekend, and seeing as work was boring - ripped both to my iPod and watched!

First up was Big Trouble in Little China - mostly thanks to the insistence of Kane and Aleks that I watch this, I can safely say that it was worth the wait. Movie is just AWESOME - mainly thanks to Kurt Russell as Jack Burton. Sure, he's mostly a loudmouth, but the few things that he does? Sheer. Fucking. AWESOME. Makes me now want to track down the other two entries in what we call "The Trilogy" - the three films that John Carpenter made with Kurt (The Thing and Escape from New York).

The other one was Ed Wood - the Tim Burton film about the infamous filmmaker. Quite good - Depp puts in a good performance as Wood, Martin Landau justifies why he won the Oscar for playing Bela Lugosi, and although he doesn't show much, Billy Murray's stuff is just awesome. Admittedly, I would've liked to see more outside of the three most famous works (Glen or Glenda, Plan 9 and Bride of the Monster), but it's still a great film otherwise.

My favourite part is when the character that Sarah Jessica Parker plays is described as having a face like a horse XD. I had only seen Plan 9 and Glen or Glenda before watching this so I didn't mind the limited focus. I think the aim was to show how Wood went about making his movies and give you a couple of references to check out without needing you to view his entire library of hilariously bad movies. There's only so many "so bad they're good" type of movies you can watch in close proximity before you lose the spark and they just become boring.

Yeah, I got a great laugh out of that line. Interestingly enough, I hadn't seen any of Woods films before this, so I'm currently trying to track down online versions of Glen or Glenda and Plan 9. I've found the latter (on SPIKE TV'S WEBSITE, of all places).

Though I'll say this. If you need to be rekindle the spark for movies that are so bad they're good - check out After Last Season. Good god.

One thing that bugged me about the Ed Wood movie - and it's something that was cleared up later, was one of the voices in particular through me off - mainly because the same actor would go on to do a similarish kinda of role.

tl;dr Maurice LaMarche voices Orson Welles in the movie - and it's EXACTLY the same as the Brain (go figure), and it through me the fuck off.

Anyone here heard of The IT Crowd? I recently bought the first season and haven't stopped watching it funny as hoping to acquire the next two seasons soon.

The IT Crowd is a great show...one of my fav epiisodes is when they convinced the woman that the internet was in this little box and she made a presentation to the whole office and they all believed her. For another show with similar humour, see also The Mighty Boosh.

On another note, Dexter's back in around 4 hours :D

I have all three seasons of that show - I need to get around to watching them.

FINALLY got around to finishing off Leon: The Professional. Pretty bloody fantastic movie that, while does feel kinda creepy at points, is a fantastic watch. Also watched a little bit of the Transporter, which was actually not as bad as I thought it'd be. In fact, quite the opposite!

Hopefully this week I should break out the El Mariachi films. Been needing to see El Mariachi and Once Upon A Time In Mexico, and need to rewatch Desperado.

The Mighty Boosh has no jokes, so it's nothing like the humour of The IT Crowd. Most overrated show ever.
