Seeing as every forum has a "post a pic of yourself thread", why not have another standby on here? That is to say, where'd you come up with your username?

Seeing as myself, Jason, Jamie, Drunken Editor, Dale and the Weird Kidd have self explanatory names, allow me to elaborate slightly on mine.

The full name is DarthHomer. I've used this on a variety of online places (most notably Gamespot). It's a portmanteau (joining of two words) of two of my favourite characters from my favourite movie series and TV series of all time (that'd be Darth Vader and Homer Simpson, respectively). Vader will also be one of the first characters I learn to play as in Soul Cal...

This is also referred to on one of the Simpsons compilation DVD's - but that's not the reason.

Anyone else?

I've had mine since 97. Made it up as the name for my avatar in Diablo (I) and the name has kinda stuck. I like it because it's an original name and not based on anything which means most of the time I don't come across instances where the name has already been taken. :)

My very first avatar on my first online community was a slice of watermelon... And the watermelon thing kind of stuck so when I started gaming online/lanning I went with the theme and adopted melonqueen as my gaming name.

We were at a LAN cafe, playing stuff. I kept changing names between rounds, so the Asian kids couldn't figure out who was beating them. Then I put down Capt. Billy, and it stuck. I also use it as a pseudonym when I don't want to give my real name, like surveys and software licences. The full version is Captain Billy Assholay Bellinger, with "Assholay" sometimes spelled with the extended "e".

When i signed up to Xbox LIVE, Captain Billy was taken. So, being a Blackadder fan, I decided on a very esoteric reference in Blackadder 4, hence "Catpain Billy"

Well... it's a long story... I had many usernames, ranging from J.E.N.O.V.A. (Fueled by FF7) to OMGHAX!1!! so I'll just talk about my current one, Kart.

I used to be called KartHuntersDS at the time I had Mario Kart DS and Metroid Prime Hunters. Having access to wireless internet to play these DS titles, it was shortly cut off. Due to the sheer shittyness of Metroid Prime Hunters' single player campaign I sold the bitch in 2 seconds flat. It was then I called myself a short but sweet 'Kart'. Usually I have my username accompanied with the console/system I'm playing on. For example, Kart-Wii or Kart-PC.

I was much better in Mario Kart DS anyway. :P

My username is my name! It is easier for me. I'm getting forgetful in my old age. I use it just about everywhere I have an online account/profile.

Take your pick:

"1. a silly or stupid person; a person who lacks judgment or sense.
2. a professional jester, formerly kept by a person of royal or noble rank for amusement: the court fool.
3. a person who has been tricked or deceived into appearing or acting silly or stupid: to make a fool of someone.
4. an ardent enthusiast who cannot resist an opportunity to indulge an enthusiasm (usually prec. by a present participle): He's just a dancing fool.
5. a weak-minded or idiotic person."

:(
