Finally finished the story missions for Saints Row 2. Re-discovering that underground shopping mall and unlocking the pimp cane have made things a hell of a lot funner - my character looks like a total ho-bag now! Awesome.

Heh...yeah its a bit like that Oz.

For all its flaws, its a good set of game mechanics....finish it though, so you can go onto the far superior Assassins Creed II ;)

Have just finished Bioshock for the first time...

WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS
Spoiler: click to toggle
...and was really disappointed by the ending. I mean, after the 'would you kindly' mindf@$k I was expecting a less conventional finish to the game. The whole 'Jack finds a family' thing was touching but I was expecting more than just a standard final boss battle. That's why I enjoyed the ending of the first Prince of Persia game - young stud vs old indian = you beat the shit out of him.

Yeah that was a bit of a let down.

Kinda didnt fit in with the rest of the game, hopefully Number 2 has a decent ending

Endings seem to be impossible for developers to get right. Ending of the year was Uncharted 2, simply because it actually fucking ended that story. Don't get me started on Borderlands...

Guitar Hero 5. It's really disappointing when you import the songs from Guitar Hero:World Tour, not all the songs from that game appear on Guitar Hero 5.

Just finally beat Mass Effect. Should've done it earlier.

Great game. Now deciding to play through the Witcher or go pick up a copy of Dragon Age to pass the time between ME2.
You know you want Dragon Age, Darth. You've got around about a month to kill before ME2 (or so the guy at Game in Melton told me), and DA:O will fill that just nicely.

It will also invade your dreams, and before you know it you'll be trying to marry one of the characters like that guy in Japan did. Its that good.

I saw a screenshot of it....

And I immediately thought of Neverwinter Nights.

Jan 27th I think for ME2, so more than a month.

And I'm still not sold on DA:O. For everyone's uproar over FPS games rehashing old material, Bioware seem immune from that criticism, despite selling the same game time after time. Not saying it's necessarily a bad thing, but the wave of unrest always seems to fall on FPS.

Heh..

I had a moment like that when I played KotOR for the first time.

I was like "Bastilla is Lady Aribeth DeTylmarande."

For those of you who have played Neverwinter Nights....you'll get it.

Then again, Mass Effect didnt have alot of recycled stuff, which was refreshing

I havent played any of Bioware's other RPGs, but i had heard that it was very much like Neverwinter Nights.
I think the Fallout series copped that critisism too, but more of the how-far-can-we-milk-this-concept type.

ME2 did enough different in my opinion to not be subject to that criticism. However, KotOR, Jade Empire, NWN, Baldur's Gate and DA all share such similar gameplay/delivery/themes that it gets to the point illustrated above where characters can be transplanted between games due to their similarities. Again, not hating on it, despite my actual dislike for Jade Empire, but just stating a fact that most Bioware fans seem to overlook.
