-I am unable to control more than one chararcter at a time during battles.
Okay, this point I need to bring up. Why does everyone see this as a problem? Final Fantasy XII saw you only directly controlling one character; no complaints. Persona 3/4; two lauded RPG's also saw you directly controlling one character; no complaints. Every Bioware game from KOTOR onwards saw you mostly focus on directly controlling one character; no complaints. The original Fallout games saw you directly controlling one character; no complaints.

Unless I'm missing something here, why now is it a problem?
1) Because it'f Final Fantasy.
2) Because nobody played 12
Never played a Fallout game. Never played a Persona game. Haven't played many Bioware games. However, I've played every FF game apart from 5 and 11, so I can speak only of those. Maybe because every Final Fantasy (including spin-offs) < 12 allows it? And I didn't like that in 12 either, but at least 12 had a sense of where it was going and who was the enemy.

Well Lost Odyssey lets you pick and choose what your whole part does in a fight =P

Does FFXIII not do this? If not....fuck buying that shit.

So after beating God of War III (which I dug), I got back into Yakuza 3. Was really enjoying the game, and was really getting intrigued by the plot...until it stops.

I should explain a little better - your main character is running an orphanage, and has to tend to around seven or so kids. The fourth chapter in the game is literally you doing short quests with the kids, with your main character saying "I should probably get ready to go back to Tokyo" repeatedly, until one of the other kids decides to start a quest on you. Oh, did I mention that all of these quests are storyline related and you can't skip them? And they're all stupid?

I must've spent close to three hours before I could actually move on in the story. Two hours were spent doing these fucking quests, while the last one was proper gameplay. These quests have NOTHING to do with the main story mind you, and you start to wonder quick why Sega couldn't just remove this stuff instead of the Mahjong/Hostess Club storylines.

I'm currently up to Chapter 10 (of 12), and guess what? IT'S ANOTHER ONE OF THESE CHAPTERS. The worst part? The story was getting really interesting, pieces are starting to fall together...and the pacing is completely killed. Good job Sega.

Sounds like Lost Odyessy > FFXIII
I can't believe you have posted this. I'll let you know because I picked up Lost Odyssey for $20 at Dick Smith today.
Just found a one month free LIVE card in it too. $20 for a 4 disk game plus one month LIVE is a great deal.

After finishing off Yakuza, I'm now onto BlazBlue. Goodness, this is such a great game. Doesn't carry the same impact that Guilty Gear had on me, but loving it none the less.

Will be picking up the sequel as soon as I can, because I love some of the ideas that they're presenting.

Thanks to many a recommendation, I bought Vagrant Story over PSN. Was quite the small download too (around 80MB), but it's been worth it.

Really love the atmosphere, the combat system, the music...all great.

Currently playing Alone In The Dark on PS3. I've been enjoying it, but there's been some incredibly frustrating moments. Probably moving on to Lost Planet next.

Oh you.

Pokemon Soul Silver for me. I'm at the gym battle where the difficulty blasts into fucking orbit. If you've played Gold/Silver, you know exactly where.

I've been playing B-Grade Action Movie: The Game...

....sorry, Just Cause 2.

I love it, 8 hours in and only done 3 Main missions and 3 Strongholds.....rest of the time is causing General Chaos and grappling up and down Mountains.

This is how you make an Open World Game.

Been playing Phantom Dust, an Xbox180 game that was only released in Japan and the US. It's from the same guy behind the Panzer Dragoon series (hence the P.D. initials for the game) and it's great.

Since the first episode of the latest season of Sam & Max hit PSN, I've been going through that. Very fun stuff. Writing is as great as ever, and the new improvements actually are quite cool and what not.

Do need to play more, but I'm really enjoying it.

After sitting in my draw for nearly 4 months I have finally started Fallout 3 and I'm about 15 hours into it now. I can tell I will be putting much of my gaming time into this over the next month until Red Dead Redemption comes out.
