Made something of a start on Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Just like Heavenly Sword (Ninja Theory's previous effort), the look and sound of the game is top notch, the story seems kinda cool (particularly if you're familiar with the source material), but the gameplay seems kinda lacking - especially since there aren't any additional combos or anything deeper in the gameplay. Then there's the standard problem of being an Unreal Engine 3 game and having stuff popping in at points.

Otherwise, enjoying it so far.

I've heard how fucking ridiculous the platforming is. Who's idea was it to make it impossible to die during platforming sans the scripted events? Does the game hold your hand in other places too?

The fact that it's more linear as all hell pisses me off more. It tries to feel like Uncharted, but doesn't.

That being said, the voice work is fucking RAD. Soundtracks' a bit too underplayed, but otherwise, really digging.

It's Unreal 3? Why wouldn't they just use whatever Heavenly Sword ran on? Even now, it's still one of the best looking games of this gen.

Just finished the "2112" section in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Really loved how they put together the whole sequence - you play through all seven tracks of the album (since it's one long story), with members of Rush providing narration between tracks. Really great stuff, and I'd love to see more games do something like this.

I bought the Move the other day, so other than the demos that came with it, I've also been replaying Heavy Rain with the Move controls.

Also I've been playing Metro 2033. Can't remember if I have already mentioned that. It's awesome.

How is that anyway? Heavy Rain, I mean? Can you elaborate any more on how the Move controls add to the game?

Been playing some Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Really quite digging so far - combat is pretty cool (though I suspect there'll be more to do later), the story (particularly the tone) and voice acting is solid, the game looks quite great...and for some reason, I really enjoy the level structure of the game. I like knowing that I can play a little bit at a time and still accomplish something. And although I won't link to it, there are some pretty freaking awesome easter eggs. Two of which suck, while another two are amazing.

Only thing I don't particularly like is the music. Not that it's bad or anything (it isn't), but I don't get a Castelvania vibe from it.

And in case you're wondering (or haven't heard) - I bought a copy on Sunday from Dungeon Crawl, and loving the fact that it got delayed again till the 19th.
