Ahh, yes. Watchmen certainly did rock. I went in to the cinema with no knowledge of the franchise, and I was really surprised. No cookie cutter film here. |

Human Traffic and Lock Stock Smoking Barrels, or was that before 2000? Human Traffic, ace British comedy flick. |

If it were up to me, than Spirited Away, High Fidelity and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind would have 'Classic Filum' status slapped upon them. However I've yet to grow a beard or get a pair of dangly earrings, so my opinion doesn't count, even with The Power Of The Internets!!!1!(tm) behind me. However, I do reckon the Judd Apatow movies (40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad, not Pineapple Express) will be looked upon with the same fondness that John Hughes films (deservedly) receives. Those, and An Inconvenient Truth... Although personally, I think this decade will be remembered more for the excellent TV shows that came out more than the movies. There's The Sopranos, Firefly, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Futurama, The Office(s), anything by Shaun Micallef, not to mention countless more quality TV shows that I'm sure you're desperately yelling through your computer screen right now. Sure there were some quality movies released in the past few years, but face it: Ignoring reality TV (and Level 3 :P), television has been the vastly superior non-interactive screen medium this decade. |

I have a couple; - The Departed (even though Infernal Affairs was better) - Borat (for the naked fight scene) |

film had Sarah from Labyrinth doing ass to ass - how can it not be a classic? 00's have been the decade of the safe, franchises with all the Harry Potter's, Shreks, Saw's etc + the whole re-invention of the horror genre (also started in 99 with Blair Witch) Not much else really comes to mind - A Dirty Shame The Matrix Kill Bill Minority Report 2000 was a good year for films though American Psycho O Brother Where Art Thou Meet the Parents |

The matrix actually came out in 99 That's a 10 year old movie now, amazing stuff, unless you are retarded and were counting the sequels as classic movies? How did meet the parents get into a list with American Psycho and O Brother Where Art Thou? Not that it's a bad movie, but it's certainly not in the same league |

yeah meant the Matrix trilogy - even though still haven't seen the 3rd one (and Animatrix shits over all of them). Just trying to ride the line between popular and classic - not that a movie popular at the time == classic but as AB mentioned there's always a soft spot for trash and Meet the Parents (+ Zoolander - 2001!) do have a social commentary that runs through them which make them memorable... |

Lawl. Sarah from Labrynth. Also, how could I forget fucking American Psycho? I know it's a book, but the book was not necessarily a classic before the movie, kinda like Fight Club. |

For a TV servies I would nominate Dexter. After watching the first series I went out and got all the books to read as well. I am still watching Lost but just to see WTF will happen in the end. |
