Atazos followed closely behind as they walked through the rather run-down part of town that was south of the tower. He didn't know how well trained Moria was in combat, but he knew she wasn't mean enough to fend off a group of attackers should they find the fading daylight a good advantage to try and mug her. As for himself, most of the criminals in town knew him and knew that he didn't have much to steal in the first place and that he had no qualms with shoving his sword down the throats of anyone dumb enough to brawl with him. With him near her, it would at least tell the other lowlifes that he was not alone. But, as they went past the tower, he gained a feeling of distance from the lower class areas that he made into his home. This was the nicer, more pleasant part of town. Guards were dense all over town, but doubly so in this area. He actually felt a little out in the open and exposed being near so many heavily armed guards, all of which would be able to detect the air of trouble the bled from him. It was here that Moria may need to protect him from wrongful imprisonment. When he finally saw her head towards one of the buildings, he felt some relief wash over him. He waited patiently for her to open the door and walked in after being invited in. once inside, he reached down and began to unbuckle his heavy leather boots. He looked up as his hands unfastened them, taking a moment to observe her apartment. He smirked, taking in a few important details about her from the obvious things laying about. In a few seconds, he had learned really all he'd need in order to have meaningful conversations with her. He looked up as she spoke to him and nodded. "Alright. I'll just get comfortable." He chuckled a bit at the way she put it. He wanted to make it feel like home, but no matter how well heated or comfortable her surroundings were to a common person, the creaky, damn, noisy bowels of an airship was where he was most at home. Atazos pulled off his filthy socks and shoved them into his boots. After leaving them by the door, he walked into her home and looked around. It was all so domestic and peaceful... it was just how he imagined she would live. It was conservative with remnants of her hobbies and passions laying about. It was the common idea of what a home should be. He couldn't imagine having a place like this for himself. The sky pirate walked in a little deeper and sat down on the worn out couch. He sighed and leaned his head back. Despite his reservations about the place, sitting down in a soft chair was a nice change of pace from normal. He began to wonder if this kindness was a ploy of Moria's own to convince him to swtich sides. It was silly, but he couldn't help but feel there was something off about the whole arrangement. |

Adventure Log Moira quickly changed out of her blue and white imperial robes and into a black dress reaching down to her knees. She hoped that dropping the imperial seal would make this whole thing a lot easier to deal with. The necklace with the key that she had around her neck she left where it was. It was safer with her than anywhere else she thought. And either way it actually looked pretty good as a accessory for some reason. She looked herself in the mirror one last time before she left her room and walked down stairs again. She walked up to Atazos where he was sitting on the couch and smiled gently. Then she walked over to the fire place and started to make up a fire. While she did she asked Atazos "Is there anything there anything I could get you before I make dinner? Something to drink, anything?" she did not have a lot of guests, actually she never had guests, but she really tried her best to be some kind of "host" there. Once the fire place was lit she stood up again, waiting for his answer. |

Atazos turned and looked in her direction as she came down the stairs. He smiled again at the sight of her in her black dress. He was extremely pleased with seeing such a pretty girl wearing his favorite of all colors. He leaned back and followed her with his eyes as she walked to the fireplace to spark up some heat. He was wondering why she didn't light it with magic, but there was a chance that she was a healer and not an offensive mage. Her hospitality skills made him think she had guests rather often, even if this was not the case. "Drink? I don't suppose you have any booze, do you?" He winked at her playfully. He suspected her to have a bottle of wine at most, one she kept in the cupboard for a special occasion. Atazos decided to let the poor girl off easy though as he followed with, "But if not, anything you have would be fine." The sky pirate stretched out his arms a little and yawned. "So, how long have you lived here?" He looked over to her pictures again and then back in her direction. "Do you live with any family members or is this all yours?" He knew the answer from the layout alone, but he wanted to make conversation. Questions like these gave him a chance to earn her trust and find out her take on simple matters. |

Adventure Log She did have alcohol, but not really exactly "booze". There was very few times when she actually drank anything herself either, so all she had was a bottle of wine and nothing else. She could not remember when exactly she got it or if she had ever opened it at all. "Alright, I will get you something to drink then." she said and walked off into the small kitchen area of the house and started searching for the bottle of wine. Finally she found it deep in one of the cupboards. It had not been opened it seemed and it was somewhat dusty, god knows how long it had been standing there without her even for a second looking at it. She wiped off the dust and picked up a glass. "I've lived here since I was nine years old. Back then I lived here with my grandfather, and that was after my mother and father had passsed away." she said calmly as she poured the wine in the glass. "But no, I don't live with anyone anymore." She placed down the bottle beside the sink and walked back into the living room with the glass. Although it seemed to have been a touchy subject she kept a smile on her face as she handed the glass over to Atazos. |

Atazos smiled as she brought back the wine and began to tell him about herself. It was just as he had predicted. He was sure there was some thing about her that would catch him off guard eventually, but so far, she was exactly the kind of person he expected her to be. He reached out and took the glass offered to him. "We had a bit of a theory about death when I was still sailing." Atazos paused to raise the glass to his lips and sip some of the wine. It was aged and flavorful. He smiled and went on. "We used the stars in the sky for navigation and counting the days. We figured that when a crew member kicked it, he'd become a star so that he could still work on the ship, even after he was gone..." He was quiet for a second before finishing. "I'm starting to understand now. Once you've been a part of a crew and connected with your new family... you never stop being a sailor. I imagine when I die, I'll become a star too." Atazos looked up and chuckled a bit. "Sorry... I went off on a rant there." He offered a smirk in response and sipped the wine again. "So, you inherited this place after your grandpa passed? It's a nice place, I guess. Not really my style, but I can see the allure." He didn't deceive with graceful wordplay or lies. When he wanted to say something, he was blunt about it. He actually felt a little disgusted to be hiding the piracy from her, but it was for the best. |

Adventure Log Moira shook her head and smiled. "It's ok, I understand what you meant and it's a nice way of seeing things. I like to believe that my loved ones are still watching out for me after death too... So I guess I can relate to it somewhat." she turned around and walked out into the small kitchen area again to prepare the dinner. She still listened to Atazos question and his statement as she picked out things and prepared. "Yep, he passed away a few years ago. Since then this has been my place, it's not much but I feel at home here at least." There were some more small talk between the two while Moira prepared the dinner, however much of the time was more or less quiet. Atazos could see how focused Moira seemed to be while doing her thing, like she was afraid it would get messed up or something. Either she was putting way too much care and love into the food she was making, or she just wasn't that good of a cook. Atazos could just hope it was not the later. Soon Moira was finished with the food and came out with it plated up into the living room where Atazos was waiting. She placed down the plates on the coffe table and sat down in a chair facing Atazos. "I-It's actually the first time I cook for anyone else but myself." she looked a little nervous about it, like she was afraid she was going to kill him or something like that. The food looked good though, so there was probably nothing to worry about. It was cooked fish with potatoes and a mixed sallad with all sorts of vegetables. "I hope you like it anyway." she looked at him, waiting for him to take the first bite and give a judgement. |

The sky pirate looked at the food she brought him after a bit of a wait. He didn't mind though since he had the wine to keep him occupied while she worked. He never complained about free food anyway, no matter how long it took to get to him. It looked delicious to the eyes of man who had survived off of whatever cheap scraps he could afford with whatever he could steal from people's pockets. Eagerly, he grabbed the fork and began to eat quickly. He seemed slightly voracious in the way he ate but he didn't make a mess. In fact, the clean up job he did with the food was actually quite impressive, not leaving much besides some grease from the fish to wash off the plate later. Afterwards, he looked up at her. "Umm... Sorry. I kind of forgot my manners there for a second... It's been a while since I've had a meal this good." He leaned back and laughed, a little embarrassed at his behavior. "Delicious. You're a fine cook, Moria. Did you ever consider becoming a chef instead of a soldier?"

Adventure Log Surprised by how quickly Atazos threw the food down, Moira just looked at him for a moment guessing that she had done a pretty good job with the food. She herself ate rather slowly, but then again she had actually gotten decent food for quite some time now, and when Atazos was finished she had just barely eaten half of her own portion. Him apologizing for his manners came very suddenly for her, she had not even thought about it until he said anything. She had just been happt that he actually liked it at all. She blushed a little and poked her own food with the fork when he asked her about becoming a chef. "As I said, have never cooked food for anyone else but myself. It can't have been that good, can it?" she shook away the blush rather quickly, looked up at Atazos again and smiled a little. "Even if it's not as amazing as you say it still makes me happy that you enjoyed it. Couldn't have wished for a better review." It really made her happy to be appreciated for once, since there really wasn't anyone around to appreciate her at all. However then she remembered why she had brought him there to begin with. The smile disappeared from her pale face and she turned her head away and looked like she was thinking for a moment. "You remember I said that something bothered me?" she looked down at her food, still thinking just as hard as before, like she was trying to find words that were already on her tongue. "I just got a feeling- Well, I wanted to ask you something really. Not as the empirialist, but as Moira." she looked up from the plate and straight into Atazo's deep black eyes. She had a serious look on her face, but not one that gave away any sign of hostility or anything like that. It seemed like she just wanted a straight answer and nothing else. "So could you tell me who you really are?" |

Atazos set his fork on his plate and looked at Moria with a smile as she responded positively to his compliment. He was about to tell her that he was sincere. If it was bad food, he probably couldn't have eaten it at all, but cooking for yourself does hone one's skills whether they know it or not. But his smile faded away into a blank look as she asked the one question she had hoped that she wouldn't. He looked up a little and sighed. It was already tough to lie about his profession; he couldn't stand the thought of covering his current lie with another one. After a few seconds of quiet, he looked back down at her, his black eyes looking into hers. He gave her a good long look, trying to peer into her soul. He wanted to know if she was really prepared to handle his news... She had trusted him and brought him into her home. She smiled at his compliments and agreed with his ideas. Her surroundings were clean and prim, things that he couldn't really get used to... he wondered if maybe, just maybe, she wanted more as well. After staring deep into her eyes, he smiled. What was life without a little risk? He spoke cleanly and flatly, not really sounding dramatic or threatening. He wanted to get the information across as clear as day and let her handle it however she wanted. "My name is Atazos Remorie. I'm a former sky pirate." |

Adventure Log She was more or less ready for anything, so she did not look very surprised once he actually told her the truth about himself. For a little longer she kept looking into his eyes and then slowly looked away from them. She was quiet and stared right out into empty space. It could be seen a long way that she was thinking very hard and then suddenly like she had just finally found a missing piece of a puzzle her face lit up. She was even smiling and shook her head a little. It was harder to find words for her now than before if that was even possible. She stood up from her seat, sat down on the couch next to Atazos instead and looked with wide open eye into his again. "Tell me what it's like! Being lawless, flying all that-" she quickly cut her own sentence off and looked like she had just realized something. She placed her left hand over her mouth "Oh my-" the last part was more or less not possible to hear, but she once again moved the hand away from her mouth and looked away from him. "Hah! It all makes sense! You planned on stealing a ship didn't you? Really? That's it right?" she turned to him again with a opened mouth smile and a look on her face that was more or less saying 'seriously?'. |

As Moria took the news, Atazos actually found himself the one caught off guard. Not only did she take the news, but she ate it up faster than he had devoured her dinner. Her reaction was adorable, causing a smile to cross his lips. She was not only capable of empathizing with piracy, but it seemed that she was fascinated by it. The only question that remained unanswered was what the Hell was she doing working for the Empire? The sky pirate felt a little pressured with her accusation. He scratched his head as he replied. "Eh... Actually, I was really going there for honest work. Like I said, I'm a former sky pirate... no ship, no piracy." He laughed a bit embarrassingly. "I've been out of work for a few years now. I was a part of the Leviathan crew. When we disbanded, I was left grounded indefinitely. I've been living on the streets, trying to survive." He intentionally left out the bits about pickpocketing and eating scraps as he felt it would be a bit of a turn off... but seeing the side of her that she had kept tamped under her mask of civility, he was actually a little unsure of that. "You've no idea how much I've missed being up there..."

Adventure Log When Atazos told her that she had been wrong about the reason he had taken the job at the north tower she felt a little stupid. It was never meant to sound like a accusation, but she was still not sure if he was telling the truth. "Oh..." she just replied to the fact that he was trying to do a honest work for once. She turned her head away and once again dwelled deep into her own thoughts. It looked like she was almost disappointed about the fact that it was not Atazo's plan to steal a ship to begin with. That could not be it though, could it? Whatever she was thinking there was absolutely no telling what it could be. She quickly looked up again and snapped out of her own thoughts as he mentioned that he was living on the street. "You have been living on the street, or you are?" she did know that there were more people like him out there, but she had not really been in contact with anyone before. She had been donating money to good causes like that though, but who knew where that money actually had gone to. There was no way that she could let the man be out in the cold all night could she? He had after all trusted her enough to tell her his secret. "... You know you could always stay here. I wouldn't mind, the company is nice and I can't really leave you out there like that." The mentioning of him missing the free sky made her think again. It became more and more clear that Moira was quite the thinker, and one you could really see when she was thinking. However what she was thinking was the hard part. Maybe she would reveal more of it to Atazos in the near future, but at least for now she would keep quiet about it. > The Moira Tabanov social link has reached level 2. > +4 Experience points gained. Atazos was outright left hooked by her offer. He chuckled. "I couldn't impose like that, Moria." He was a bit surprised by his own words, really. The offer was every street urchin's dream, but he had come to care about Moria in the time that they had chatted together. "If the Empire found out that you had a Sky Pirate in you home, it would be court martial for you and the gallows for me." He polished off the remains of the wine in his glass. "Putting my own life on the line is one thing... but putting the lives of other on the line for personal gain is just bad captain'ing." He chuckled again, a little hysterical that he turned her down. The man looked over at Moria, locking eyes with her. "I'm really surprised with you, lass. I didn't expect a good little Empire girl like you to be so eager to hear about the dirty, rotten life of some sky rat like me. The Empire pretty much sees us as vermin that need wiped out, you know." He shook his head. "Fancy the fact we end up being run out of the sky by other pirates... we're more a danger to ourselves than anything." He cut himself short and looked back at the ceiling; Atazos didn't want to go on a rant. He was still in slight disbelief how smooth everything was going. Tuning her wouldn't be so had after all. |

Adventure Log She was definietly surprised herself that Atazos had turned down her offer. There was of course the slight risk that both of them could get in trouble if anyone found out, but would anyone really? She did not see it happening though. Either way she did not care, helping someone out in times like this was more important than all that. She shrugged a little over the other comment about her sudden interest. To her it was not that odd, and frankly she already had the idea that not everyone was what they seemed on the outside. Most people weren't anyway. "Have heard a lot of stories, read a lot of books too. You could say that it fascinates me." she stood up from her seat and picked up the plates from the coffee table. "I guess I just always have wanted to fly." she said and gave a faint smile before walking off into the kitchen area again. "Anyway, are you really sure you don't want to stay?" she quickly jumped over to the other thing again, trying to convince him not to leave. He had probably already made up his mind, but she still had to try at least. "I really doubt that anything would happen. Just one night could not be harmful could it?" |

Again, Atazos saw that familiar something in the way she spoke about flight. He'd never read any books on pirates prior to becoming one, it just happened. There was a kind of adventure and freedom that being a wage pilot or a desk jockey didn't give. He chuckled. "You're starting to remind me of a very much younger version of myself... when I first boarded the Leviathan." He half teased, though he figured that she would be flattered at the thought of being Sky Pirate material. After a second of thinking it over, he sighed. "Alright... I'll stay for one night. After that, I'll get a room at some Inn. I should have enough gold after I get tomorrow's pay for more than one night somewhere." He still sat on the sofa, looking in at Moria in her kitchen. "Thanks... you really don't have to do this. Showing kindness to my types is usually like apologizing to a wall for running into it." He was a little different from the cutthroats that made up the underground of Asharei, but he was worried that she would take in a stray one day who had nothing but perverse and ill intentions in his heart. Again, he didn't know how well she could handle herself, but it got him worried that she may be too charitable and trusting for her own good. |

Adventure Log She shrugged a little as she continued to clean up the plates they had been eating from. "It's a common dream I think. Most people have probably thought about what it would be like up there... some more than others of course." she smiled a little and thought of saying something more about it but in the end she hesitated and kept quiet instead. There was not much else needed to say, he knew that she really wanted to fly someday and that was all that needed to be say. She kind of wanted to ask him about it all, but it was probably best not to push him too much. Moira looked out at Atazos again as he spoke. With a smile she said "I don't bring people here at all, but I kind of had good feeling about you." she turned away and finished up the last of the dishes and placed them back into the cupboards. "And as I said before I could not just let you sleep out in the snow." she said and walked out into the living room again and looked at the time. It was getting quite late actually. "There are two beds on the second floor, or you can always take the couch if you want to." Moira said as she sat down in one of the armchairs. The second bed had been left there since her grandpa passed away probably, so it kind of made sense that there were still two even if she did not have anyone else. "I will stay up for a little while I think, catch up with some reading. But don't mind that, you can sleep whenever you feel like it. she said and smiled lightly. |

It was getting late and Atazos' stomach was so very full of Moria's cooking. This was a far better experience than buying some half rate bread for a couple coins and sleeping in a cheap inn for a few more pieces of gold. This way allowed for him to have the oddly comforting company of the lovely Moria and didn't cost him a single shilling. He smiled gratefully and stood up from the sofa. "I think I will retire to the extra bed... once again, thank you..." He paused for a moment. "Are you sure there isn't anything you want in return? I'm not used to free kindnesses, you know. The world I'm from, every favor has a price." Although he had a feeling she was indeed doing this out of the goodness of her heart, he wanted to hear it from her mouth; Moria didn't seem the type who would lie right to his face... and if she did, he probably would be able to tell she was lying.

Adventure Log Moira did not want anything in return for letting Atazos stay in her house for the night. There were already enough people who suffered the same homeless life as he did, so helping one out was just something that felt right. Besides he would probably not have much to give her in return anyway, or at least she doubt that he did. "It's fine, really. You worry way too much." she said and smiled gently. "My father always told me that helping those who need it is the greatest thing one can do." she turned her head away and looked into the open fire, looking almost nostalgic over what she just had said. She really meant what she had said though, she just wanted to help out. Up on the second floor were two rooms, a bedroom with two beds and a small bathroom much the same size as the kitchen downstairs. Like the living room the bedroom was very ordinary. There was a clothing cabinet, a bedside table, some more photos like the ones downstairs and lastly a big mirror with a copper and gold frame. On the bedside table there was a small wooden jewlery box with carved shapes and symbols on it. It was not very fancy but had a odd charm to it somehow. When Atazos woke up the next morning the snow was still falling down as it usually did, the sky was dark and did not let through a lot of sunlight. Whatever time it was in the morning he did not know and Moira was not there to be seen anywhere. However on the bed next to the one Atazos had been sleeping in there had been clothes put very nicely folded together. Among them a brown waistcoat, a white long sleeved shirt to have under it aswell as matching trousers. They were very classic, looked somewhat used but the quality was definietly something. There was no doubt they could take a beating. Moira seemed to have left a note on them aswell. "I thought you could use some fancier clothes. They are used and nothing special, but I hope they will do just fine for you. -Moira" |

Atazos fell asleep almost the moment his heavy head touched the pillow. It was not the hull of a beloved ship with the crying engine and whirling propellers... but a pillow and mattress beat the icy streets of Asharei by volumes. With the pleasant place to rest came pleasant dreams of the old days. His dream-scape gave him he feeling of holding on to the side of the Leviathan while he ship was in mid flight. Wind blew through his dark hair, damp clouds covered him in the heavenly dew, and the groundless expanse miles below caused a tear to form in the Novali's eye as he slept... But this dream came to an end all too soon as the daylight of dawn brought him stirring to consciousness. He leaned up, sighed, and looked about, catching an eye to Moria's letter and the clothes she had left him. He smiled a little to himself at the sight and the thought that she had clothes to offer - men's clothing in his size, no less. As much as he liked his current outfit, he had to admit that new clothes would be a good call... especially considering his were filthy at this point. The pirate got up, grabbed the clothes, cleaned up, and changed into the brown waistcoat and shirt. He left the sleeves rolled down; he didn't expect the snow of Revlik Isle to take a break any day soon. The man walked into the main room, his own dark clothes folded up and put into his inventory for the time being. His black eyes looked about for Moria, expecting to have left since she had left a note instead of her presenting the clothes to him herself. He didn't mind, however. As much as seeing her pretty face in the morning would be a nice addition to the wonderful sleep and the change of clothes, he was fine with seeing her when he got to 'work' if she was indeed not home. "Moria? You here?" |

Adventure Log There was no answer from the kitchen or the living room area, and if she weren't in any of these places then she was most likely already off to work. She was the one who opened up the gate to the north tower in the morning and closed it during the evening, so it made sense she would have to be there earlier. In the living room the sofa and the coffee table were full of text- and note books. It was basically a mess. Was that what she had been doing when she said that she was going to stay up for a while longer the day before? They were not there before so probably. Not paying much attention to what she had written or what she had been reading Atazos' eyes instead locked onto a key that was laying on top of one of the note books. The key had a key chain with a silver feather hanging from it. The house key perhaps? She had left Atazos alone in her house, taken for granted that he would find the key and also lock up after himself. If he wanted to he could just steal something and leave without any problem. Moira's trust was a little weird. They had only just met and she could already leave him in her house alone and without even a second thought. If it was someone else than Atazos she could have gotten herself in trouble. Something told Atazos that he was not just anyone though. Her hospitality and trust said more than enough about that. > Obtained Moira's House Key. |
