Zafain strolled through the gates, paying little attention to the snow covered guards; it did not surprise him that they aid little attention, having probably stood there for hours, their fingertips being constantly nipped at by the icy wind, their hands frozen to their weapons. He chuckled, thinking that, if he'd stayed with the army, that could he him there now.

The sun was low in the sky casting a shining light through the city from the blizzard raging all around. With people scurrying around, the streets posed no real danger, though pickpockets were always everywhere in Asharei; it only seemed that the more people there were watching, the more thieves appeared to challenge them.

Turning into a side street, he picked up pace, walking into the icy wind, before slamming his shoulder in to a door, smacking it open, the ice dropping off it. A few people inside briefly turned their heads to see the fur wrapped traveller, still holding his gun tight in furs, before twisting back to whatever activity they were at before, mostly drinking, for this was the place for adventure in Asharei.

The Drunk Dragon wasn't a particularly special place to go for an average citizen, but to any Novali seeking adventure, it was a place of wonder. Just breathing, you could smell the smoke from gun barrels, the stale smell of blood on blades, and the heated talk of questing and the rattling of gold purses, taken as victory during their adventures. Twisting round, Zafain shut the door behind him and sat down at the bar, catching the bartender's eye with the sole intention of trying to find out who would be able to help him on his way towards finding his sister.

Although Zafain's entrance was loud and a little overt, the people in the bar gave him a mere passing glance, looking to see the man at the door and then ignoring him once again. Even if he did have a weapon drawn, this was of little concern to them. Nearly everyone in Asharei had a gun knew how to use it. And if they didn't there were enough guards and troops in the town for a shout to the guards to handle a single gun-man. It was both of these reasons that the crime rate in Asharei, despite being home to many petty thieves, was so low.

The bar wasn't the fanciest in town, but had some of the charm that a small tavern held in its own. The lighting was dim, candles and a simple chandelier over head providing the only light. There was a kitchen behind the bar counter, however small, that let out a delicious aroma. It was lunch time for most bars and restaurant, so the food would be cheap, but not as cheap as a diner or other restaurant. There was no music playing, as that would require the funds to pay a live performer. Another notable feature was the fact that the interior was mostly made up of polished hardwood. This was a rarity among the less extravagant Asharei taverns as all wood would have to be imported to the Revlik Isles; trees didn't grow in the tundra.

The for that evening consisted of twelves men and women: two men and two women at a table near the back corner, a couple - male and female - at a more central table, three men sitting at the bar, one loner in the back sitting and eating at his own, one waitress and a bartender. They were all, of course, Novali. The bartender on duty was an older gentleman, a fairly brawny individual with short, well maintained hair - his red streaks cutting back neatly. He smiled a bit as another customer came in, more opportunity to pick up tips. He spoke out to the Zafain, who looked to have gone a long time without a good drink, or a good meal for that matter. His voice had a hint of professional charm, a man who spent his day refining his social skills while pouring drinks for thirsty patrons. His words were Novaigo, the national language of the Novali. "Welcome, stranger. Come, have a seat and a drink."

The bartender looked at the Novali as he denied the food. It was understandable, but since he gained tips from people who sat and ate at the bar, he was a little put off by this. He tried not to let it bother him as he responded, still smiling. "Sister? I can't say I know who you are, exactly, so I don't think I could point out your sister in a crowd." He shrugged and picked a dirty glass of the counter to be cleaned. "But if you're willing to part with a little gold, you could probably pay a ranger to help you look. If anyone can find a person, it would be a ranger... Though it's been a while since I seen one come into town. They tend to sort of loner oddballs." With that, the bartender turned his attention to one of the patrons whom had an order to fill. Since Zafain had no money, he had no reason to pay him much mind at all.

One of the people sitting at the bar turned and gave Zafain a second look, however, after the bartender had finished talking to him. This second look was only long enough to get a good look at his face and glance down to the weapon that Zafain was holding. He then turned back, seeming un-phased by the weapon situation, as if it were just an everyday occurrence.
