Asagi left Greenholme from the North Gate, sending her on the path towards the regency of Port Havenedge. The trip was not a short one, taking about 8 hours on foot, only stopping for short rests, but the it was a lovely day. The birds were singing, the sun was shining and reflected off the puddles on the side of the path. Asagi found that the hours flew by... however, when she finally made it to Port Havenedge, it was getting very late and the sun was sinking below the Greenpeak Mountains. The dim light of the fading day still allowed Asagi to see the fascinating sight that was Port Havenedge.

The port city was large, almost certainly larger than she had expected. The port city was the main skyport of the entire Kingdom, and it certainly looked to live up to its name. It was not as wide and sprawling as the Castle city of Greenholme, but there was much commerce and traffic, even in the fading light. The light of various street lamps could be seen burning even from where she stood. The lamps in carriages pulled by various beasts of burden could be seen going back and forth in the streets, most likely filled with goods and merchants. However, it seemed that very few of them left the city itself. In fact, Asagi realized that on her long trek there, she had come across no other caravans going to and from despite the fact that it appeared to be such a booming trading post. The sight of the city then reminded Asagi of another thing she heard about it, that it was rumored as a safe haven for many sky pirates...

As she came forward, a guard in full plate armor held up a hand. "Halt. There is a locked down state on the city due to vicious monster attacks. If you set foot inside the city walls, you will be unable to leave until the monster attacks have been dealt with. This is an action of the Regent of Havenedge and is for your protection."

On her travel to the port city she had taken the time to appropriatly equip her dagger, or at least she thought it was securely attached to the belt of her robe. She could be wrong though, but she had gotten the time to practice drawing it quickly a few times and it seemed to be alright. The wonderful scarf she had bought from the old lady back in Greenholm she had also put on, and the warmth had been very much welcome as she had walked the plains this particularly windy day. And she had finally reached the big port town.

A guard stopped her by the gate and warned her about the monster attacks that Winneta had told her about. That was when she remembered the letter that the old Asalin lady had given her. She picked it up from one of her pockets and reached it over to the guard. "This is an request to help with the attacks from the regent to a certain Winneta of Durrenheim. I am here in her place. So if you please, I'll see myself in, sir." she said with her warm trademark smile.

The heavily armed guard looked at the letter as it was handed to him, lifting his visor on his heavy helm whilst leaning his spear on the wall. He read it all over and hummed to himself contemplatively. After a moment he nodded and handed it over. "That bears the Havenedge seal, alright. That's authentic..." He seemed to say this more for himself than for Asagi. "You must be Winneta's protege or representative. I would have been more happy to see a master mage here, but if she thinks you're ready..." Again, he trailed off, apparently talking more for his benefit than hers. He picked his spear up and pointed with it to the brush behind Asagi, near the edge of the road. "The last attack was there. Some poor soul went into the brush to hide from the Warthog when they were passing through at night. Unfortunately, his goods alerted it to his location and it charged him. The merchant is fine, but he's spending the week at the hospital as the clerics work on his shattered leg. It isn't pretty..."

"Anyway, if you want to try and track the beast, you should start there. I'll let you handle it, since you probably know what you're doing. And I can't leave my post." The guard gave a shrug in his heavy plate mail and stood tall again. Asagi had not heard of such beast as a giant warthog before, but she recalled stories of beasts attracted to caravans of fragrant goods and attacking them to get it. She also knew that this was a common occurrence, so the fact that trade routes were closed because of a single monster seemed suspicious at best.

The sun was beginning to fall in the sky, though. Hunting a creature of such power would be dangerous at night and hard to find and keep its trail. It was, however, possible, to do it anyway.
