DEVELOPMENT OF LORE IS HAULTED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Lore is leaning towards a collectible breeds site aiming at ages 16+. All pets are from some sort of folklore. Explorations is key. Trading will be a large part of the site.
Pets can be kept in pandora box like capsules. They play the role of a spiritual medium. Many pets are avaliable in a basic colour, rare ones can be found, and mutations of such are even rarer. These changes can be anything from an altered look to mechanical body parts.
The creatures of the world, are separated into realms, and before a player can advance into another realm, they must first achieve/collected a certain amount of beasts. They unlock new areas.

Hi guys. I am very glad this site will not accept users under 16. I wonder what rules we have. Some sites tend to be very strict on what words you may use and how you might come over. I also wonder about the content we'll get. Will there be blood? So what rules would you like and why? Do you think it is a good idea to allow swearing? I think swearing should be allowed so we can express ourselves but if someone is swearing over and over for the smallest of things a punishment would be appropriate. Hard things about this would probably be that handling the users will depend mostly on the staffs judgemental skills whereas with strict rules you could easily say "Oh! swear word. Got to punish now". The mod would have a very easy job and the benifits of non strict rules will be sacrificed. Feel free to ask about my thoughts if you want me to explain. |

Will there be blood? Not entirely sure yet, but I'm sure some of the pets we'll bring in will be more gruesome than others. Swearing? Yes some swearing will be allowed. However it's being used to yell or degrade other players they will be warned. After a certain number of warnings their account would probably be banned for a period of time. After that if they continue their account could be locked for a longer time, etc etc. |

Swearing should definitely be allowed, but as long as it's not directed to a person or a user as an insult. I know it must have been a given, but I hope no n00b-speak or excessive chatspeak will be allowed. LOLs, STFUs, BRBs and etc. could be okay, but something that's about to make ones eyes hurt should be discouraged ("lolol how r u 2day"). I know we'd be all over 16, but there are some.. 'special' cases, you know? And since the minimum age is 16, what types of discussions are allowed and not allowed to talk about in LORE? I mean, we don't have to worry about anyone below 13 years old now to peek at our threads anymore unless they fake their age. That raises another question, how would the staff know if we have an underage running around? We wouldn't want that now, would we? |

Chatspeak: In moderation it's okay :3 I use lol and omg a lot. But yes, no using r for are and u for you and stupid things like that. Discussions: I think I'll have a separate section in the forum for discussion of more controversial topics, so if people don't want to see it they don't have to, but the forum is still there. How to tell: Well, there isn't a good way overall. However, we can watch how a user acts and see if they slip up somewhere with their age. |

Yeah, the age thing is really just a case of us staff being vigilant. People know how to lie, even if asked to input their DOB upon registration, so we will just be keeping our eyes open. As staff I expect we will know our member base pretty well and know what to look out for.

It's really just a matter of disapproving of childish behaviour. Regardless of age, some things won't be accepted. |

I know a pet site on which there was a user who kept on asking for items, did not keep promises and often spammed by posting the same information just too many times an hour. They also asked very stupid questions a newbie would not even ask and did it in a rude matter. Every time that user popped up they did such things then apologized only to do the same things again. They also asked about other users who were not there if they were mad at them and at one point they made a topic on the forum asking if everybody hated them. What bothers me is that the staff were hesitant to take action. I've often seen them repeat themselves asking if the user would cease their actions. If rules are there they must be followed without exceptions. This user continued to behave as such even when they were not new anymore. If you ask my gut they were actually doing this on purpose. So what is important is that action will be taken whenever the rules are broken no matter whom does it. By punishment new people can be put in place. Sometimes staff may slacken a bit on this because they fear losing new members. I'd rather play on a site where members can handle themselves. Edited by Vertigo, Jun 16 2012, 06:13 AM.

You can trust us to keep tabs on everything. I can't speak for Elm, but I know both Alk and myself have experience of administrating websites, so we know the ropes

Naturally, I think matters should be cleaned up quickly and swiftly. It becomes an issue when it hinders the playing experience of others. I believe in giving people a chance, but make it clear that this is their only chance. I've moderated and been an admin before on different sites and I've dealt with all kinds of people. Learning a fair few things about how to handle situations. |

Yes scamming and users being stupid will resort in warnings, bans, etc dependent on if a user doesn't clean up their act. I'm the sole admin on Ekos and I was even dealing with people on the preforums. I've gotten quite a lot of experience in that matter :3 |
