Yes, lead poisoning could really be a cause of violent crime It seems crazy, but the evidence about lead is stacking up. Behind crimes that have destroyed so many lives, is there a much greater crime? |

That explains why the Romans were such blood thirsty fiends. They supposedly died off from lead.

Excellent point about the Romans. Lead has been used in cooking vessels and utnsils throughout the centuries. I wonder if they can tie exposures in centuries past (say active foundry locations) with particularly violent episodes through the ages. I'll just add that running across this article was a weird coincidence. S. & I had been discussing how violent and ornery all the older generations I knew had been and wondered why they were so violent prone and mean. Then a few hours later I came across this article. |

Now that is important to notice. I never thought of the connection until you mentioned it. Maybe the key to world peace is creating lead free environments for all. Ever notice how middle eastern countries have such high violence rates. All the plumbing and buildings are ancient. Probably loaded with lead. Not to mention their paint used in dishes and utilitarian pottery they eat and drink from. Not to forget about how high heat drives people to violence too. |

Here we go! Made in Britain: The toxic tetraethyl lead used in fuel sold to world's poorest I think you're onto something. Also note that the world wars happened during the time of the rise of leaded fuel. |
