I have a lot of reasons for disliking the root cause spiel. Here's the latest dose of it.

State Dept. spokeswoman: 'We cannot win this war by killing them'

By Kendall Breitman / Politico
Quote:

“We cannot win this war by killing them; we cannot kill our way out of this war,” Harf said on MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews.”

She continued, “We need in the longer term … to go after root causes that leads people to join these groups.”

Harf said the State Department is focused on stopping the causes of terrorism in the Middle East, such as lack of job opportunities, poor education for young people and weak governance in countries where extremism flourishes.

I guess they are going to export the rest of our jobs to there.
That brings me to my contention with this hair-brained theory. What is the want ad going to say? "Wanted, blood thirsty psycho path to able to type 60 words per minute for fast paced data entry operation in the Levant. Must be trust worthy and not an identity thief." Seriously, who wants their information in the hands of one of these terrorists?

The fact is, these people are premeditated, mass killers that need to pay for their crimes. They made a choice to slaughter the innocent. Their victims didn't make them do this whether they are Kurds or workers that were in the Twin Towers on 9-11. That's what really sticks in my craw. This root cause theory is based on victim blaming the same way rape apologists say she asked for it by the way she dressed or acted.

To add insult to injury we're supposed to feel guilty for our "good lives" that we supposedly don't deserve. Now we're supposed to feel sorry for marauding rapists and murderers and give them things to placate them. No, I'm fed up! I think everyone is fed up.

Well stated! ! I agree. Some ISIS leader said that true Sharia law would provide free housing, food, medical and clothes. Not just the hard corporal punishment people associated with Sharia.

In Europe and America we provide all this for them. No offense but the few middle eastern people I knew were extremely hard to placate and easily offended.

Basically a bunch of belligerent hot heads.

My point is we provide a lot of support for free and we still have a bunch of hot heads running away to join ISIS. Talk about biting the hand that feeds them.

My only thought is what a waste of resources. Turncoat types of people.

:nice: .

I'm tired of being told I have it so good that all my stuff should be given up for others.

Especially given up for the use of sullen malcontents to suck it up just to turn on us as soon as they get on their feet.

Talk about a bunch of Benedict Arnold's.
