The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the largest Mixed Martial Arts promotion company in the world, which hosts most of the top-ranked fighters in the sport and produces events worldwide. Based in the United States, the UFC has eight weight divisions and enforces the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. Dana White serves as the president of the UFC while Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta control the UFC's parent company, Zuffa, LLC.

Bellator Fighting Championships (Bellator) is the 2nd largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion in the USA (behind Zuffa), and one of the largest tournament-based MMA organization in the world. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the company was formed in 2008 by Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. Bellator’s events are primarily structured around a tournament format that allows competitors the opportunity to fight for a world championship in their desired weight class. Fighters determine their own path by winning tournament fights until a winner from the eight man field is crowned. The tournament winner is declared the number one contender and is awarded a check for $100,000 and a shot at the reigning world champion. Bellator uses the motto “Where title shots are earned, not given...”

Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC) is a United States mixed martial arts (MMA) organization that has produced stadium fight cards in Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee, runs MMA-themed gyms, and sells MMA-related merchandise. The company is also pursuing international ventures in at least 12 other countries. Based out of Tampa, the organization was credited by the Tampa Tribune for setting the Florida statewide attendance record for an MMA event when they drew over 11,000 fans to the St. Pete Times Forum on November 11, 2007

Strikeforce is a U.S.-based mixed martial arts and kickboxing organization based in San Jose, California. It is headed by CEO Scott Coker and owned by Zuffa, LLC. Its live events and competitions are currently shown on CBS and Showtime in the United States, Super Channel in Canada, Primetime in the United Kingdom, SKY PerfecTV! in Japan, HBO Plus in Brazil, Space TV in Latin America and the Caribbean, and on the American Forces Network. The promotion debuted on CBS on November 7, 2009 with Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers.

The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) is a mixed martial arts promotion based in the United Kingdom. It is considered by many as the biggest MMA promotion in the country. It premiered on June 27, 2009 and was shown on the television channel Bravo. BAMMA events are now shown live on Syfy in the UK and Ireland, HDNet in the United States, The Fight Network in Canada, TV Esporte Interativo in Brazil and around the World on www.bamma.tv
