Good morning UFS & bballmom.

Chilly this morning but not so bad compared to recent days! Looking at upper 50s then even warmer by the weekend. But cool again next week, according to the radio this morning. Sigh. Spring sure is taking its sweet time this year.

Not much happening here either. Bible Study tonight and I've got to think up something for refreshments that I can pickup at lunch while I'm out running errands.

Wishing everyone a good Tuesday!

Good morning, everyone!

Today is my favorite day of the year, and the last time we'll complete this particular ritual.

Get the tissues ready.

Today, the amazing Miss Q will compete in the Special Olympics. For the third year in a row, her classroom teachers have pushed the school to allow the students to attend. And so in just a little over an hour, fifty seven 5th graders will load buses, carrying signs, chattering excitedly, ready to support their friend.

They will make their way to a very hot, very humid swimming pool, where they will sit respectfully for hours, waiting for Miss Q to swim. When they finally see her walk onto the pool deck, our entire section of fifth graders and adults will patiently wait until the current race is over, cheer excitedly for the participants as they climb out of the pool, and before the next race is announced, will be wildly clapping and cheering for Miss Q as she heads to the warm up section. And Miss Q will be surprised, and excited, and she and her coach will shed a few tears.

And then Miss Q will swim, and our section will go insane. The chants of "Swim, Q, swim!" and "Let's go Miss Q, let's go!" will fill the stands. The announcers will take a minute to call out the incredibly respectful 5th grade class from our district, mentioning how yet again, these kids have shown up to support our friend. And after Miss Q has climbed out of the pool, the chants and clapping will continue, for each swimmer that was in the pool with her. And again, they will be publicly called out for their awesome show of sportsmanship and inclusiveness.

Only when all the swimmers have cleared the lanes will the kids settle down. The parents will be passing each other kleenex, and before we know it, we're lined up for another class picture, and loading back onto the bus after a long day of waiting, and cheering, and watching our sweet friend pursue her dream.

Next year, we won't be able to go, for reasons that are very valid but disheartening nonetheless. This event has brought this class of very divided students together year after year, and I could not be prouder of them.

Good morning to all. Hope everyone is well today... Here have a donut with that coffee.

I just got a message from my cousin asking on behalf of her sister if I'd pick sister up after she has chemo today so I'm going to be on standby this afternoon. I'm actually glad to feel like there's something I can do for the cousin with cancer, it's terminal and they've told her that at this point they are only working to give her more time and don't expect it can be cured.

One of my old friends passed away the other day and her daughter (who I'd heard was on heroin) has been messaging me begging for money. I've turned her down and talked to the other sister and friend's mom who both said they were terribly embarrassed she hit me up for money and begged me to never give her any. It took nerve to ask considering she had never met me or spoken to me since she was a child and I suspect she probably has tried this with her mom's other friends also. So tragic.

Morning Peeps. Rainy dreary day here. I want to go back to bed.

Im at work today, off tomorrow, at work off and on Thursday and in training all day Friday. I've got some nice hot coffee so that is helping. I need the main office to call and reschedule my Thursday clients since they do all of our scheduling. As of now they need to reschedule three people.

Incredible that is absolutley amazing.

RL some people have no shame and I'm glad you can help out your cousin

GM thank you for the quiche. It's got to be better than a granola bar lol

Farmma I hope you have a good time tonight at bible study

bball enjoy getting your hair done

Good Tuesday Morning, Peeps!

No coffee or donuts for me, thank you very much. I'm nursing a tummy virus that started last night. I got down a few sips of water around 2 am, and I'm drinking some tea right now. If that stays down, I may try some plain yogurt with half a banana. Not at all hungry, but I didn't have dinner last night and "got rid of" my lunch, so I need some nourishment.

Will have to cancel my hair appointment. Oh well.

Have a good day, Peeps! Take care! Stay safe!

Me too!!! Decided yesterday to do something about the little pouch that sits in front of my tummy.

Did 10 minutes treadmill plus 2 minutes of cool down. Let's see how long I last.

Dinner was salad and baked salmon last night. By midnight, I was hungry for more food!!! ^o)

Good morning everyone. The blackout curtain is closed and I have no idea of what the weather is like outside. I'm not getting out of the bed one second sooner than absolutely necessary!!! Still have 33 minutes before I kick myself out of the bed.

Incredible, heart pulling story. It reminded me of my days when I volunteered at Special Olympics when I was in high school. Miss Q is one lucky lady.

Today's agenda: Work, try day #2 on treadmill for 12 minutes + 2 minutes cool down, and eat healthy dinner. Keeping it simple is what I'm trying to do.

Have a wonderful day Peeps!

Good morning, peeps!

Cold and rainy here. This morning's workout really kicked my butt - which is exactly what I pay the Orangetheory people for, so I won't complain. We're waiting for the cable guy to show up so we can get the new service installed. SO goes for PT this afternoon - fingers crossed that it helps.

Tomorrow will be fun. Dumpster shows up at 7 am, and the crew of friends with saws and sledgehammers around 10 - the shed is coming down. Then we can get someone to do a survey of the property, and someone to draw plans of the deck so we can start trying to get a CO for it.

Incredible, I'm cheering for Miss Q from here!

Headdesk headdesk. I was off yesterday but still checked my email because I knew there waas going to be a meeting this week sometime I would have to attend. As soon as I got it I notified the main office. So I talked to the supervisor there today.

S- why didn't you let me know sooner
LW- I let you know as soon as they told me
S-well this isn't fair to the client's
LW- I understand but I have no control over it. Talk to DM.
S-well when is the next one going to be
LW-I don't know. They will schedule next weeks meeting on Thursday or Friday of this week
S- so when is the next meeting
LW- I don't know because they haven't scheduled it yet
S- well this is very inconvient
LW-yes it is

I have PT at 10:00 today, and then I'm going to pick up my prescriptions and a few groceries from WalMart. Later it's going up to 92. ☹

Incredible - that is beautiful!

RL - Nice you can help your cousin. I am sorry your friend's daughter has no shame. She must be in bad shape.

Incredible, thanks SO MUCH for sharing that. What an uplifting scene and you described it beautifully!

RL, I'm sorry that you were put in that position. Those suffering from Addiction have no control & will use anyone/anything. I have watched Intervention and it is so sad. Sometimes people make it and sometimes they relapse. The pull for the high is so strong.

suomi, hope you feel better!

LW, so tell me now, WHEN is that meeting??? ;)

uhuh, I am eating a chicken wrap & some broccoli for lunch. Probably a salad for supper. While I do like these foods, it will be hard to stay away from more delectable things that are not on the diet!!

Hi Jeni, hope you're able to get the demo project underway!

DCM, how are you doing? Good to see you.

PINK, would love to share that heatwave with you! Drink that water!!

Good morning, Peeps!!!

Today is my work week "hump" day as I'm off on Thursday and Friday. I ran out of work this morning for about a half hour but have rounded up enough to keep me busy the rest of today and through tomorrow. I sure hope business picks up around here soon.

Hope you all have a good day!

I had a teacher say to me last week he would take tickets at the Saturday performance. Yesterday he said he could do Sunday, then this morning he said he couldn't do either day. Really, you jackass? I had a Sunday person already and I didn't say anything to her because I knew dimwit would flake on me. I'll probably have my sister take tickets for me on Saturday.

We have practice this afternoon, then I have to run some errands, then community band tonight.

Incredible, what awesome kids!

I spent part of my morning at the bank as they are going to move my IRA’s and try to deal with the annuity mess that Fidelity left me with. I’m just happy to have all my finances under one roof and only 5 blocks away with people I trust.
A brief trip to the grocery store, after which I reminded myself again that there’s a reason I shop early early in the morning!
Now I’m off to Tai Chi, then home to get things ready for a stir fry dinner.

Hope you all have a great afternoon!

Went to doctor after I'd been vomiting for 24 hours. Couldn't hold down the tea or a couple of tablespoons of yogurt. Doc thinks it may be diverticulitis. Going to the GI next week for a consultation and to schedule a colonoscopy.

Sitting in Costco, waiting for my anti-nausea prescription to be filled and taking tiny sips of Pedialyte. I'll be on the BRAT diet for the next couple of days.

Had to turn down a temp job today as well.

Never a dull moment.

Ginger ale/tea/candy, Suomi! And an ice pack (or a packet of frozen peas) to the back of the neck to reduce nausea. So sorry you are feeling wretched.

It was supposed to pour down rain all day today, but now the forecast is for partly sunny from 2 p.m. Hope tomorrow is not as rainy as forecast, because I will be driving home at midday, & the freeways are not so fun.

Well, I took the first dose of anti-nausea medication about an hour ago and kept it down. Now, I'm taking small, teaspoon size sips of Pedialyte and I managed a piece of Trader Joe's brioche toast. Let's hope everything stays down!

Thanks for the well wishes!

Well, it looks like we're going to have to alter our plans a bit, which shouldn't shock anyone. We were going to go through the Badlands, but the forecast for the day we were planning to be there is for 8-12" of that stuff many of us love to hate, especially this year. So, maybe on the way home but that's a great big nope for the way out. Southerly route, here we come. Unless it all fizzles out, but we have to make that decision tomorrow. grrrrr

Suomi I'm hoping your tummy is all better now. Vomiting is the worst.

I made roasted red skin potatoes with brussel sprouts and beef smoked sausage. I precooked the sliced potatoes then mixed them with the rest of the stuff added in EVOO and balsamic vinegar, roasted then put on broil for like 30 minutes. Really came out good.

I'm going to bed early. DH has his cardiac testing tomorrow. I have to get DS16 off to school and start some chicken cacciatore in the crockpot. I "might" get to lay down for a couple of hours before we go.
