I can't apply makeup on Shabbos, so I try to buy/use things that I can put on just before, and that will stay decent-looking through sleeping and the following day. Mascara is the one thing I haven't managed. Even waterproof smudges and gives me raccoon-eyes. False lashes with glue I don't really like, as the glue can sometimes make me itch, and even those sometimes dislodge overnight, and then I can't take them off completely, and they look really stupid. So, these magnetic lashes. I keep seeing them, and they can certainly be applied on Shabbos, no issues. Do they work? Are they worth it? I have a pretty curved lashline, so I'm worried they'll be straight, which would look pretty bad. Are they easy to apply? |

They are damn near impossible to apply, lol, and they blow off with just the faintest breeze. I work at Ulta and all the girls either wear false lashes or have extensions. Imagine the glee when we first got the mag lashes in!! That was short lived. |

Too late for this holiday, but I was wondering if the lash enhancer from Rodan & Fields works. I've been thinking about trying it. |

Rats. I was hoping I'd found an answer!
I don't want anything permanent. My eyelashes are actually fairly long, but without mascara, the ends sort of disappear, so they don't look as long as they are. A little regular mascara colors the ends, so the full length shows. Since the mascara doesn't seem to work for Shabbos, I'm just looking for something to take care of that one day per week. |

Cab you have someone else apply them on Shabbos? |

BBL, if you're just looking for color on the ends, why not have them tinted? |

It sounds like you have lovely lashes! I guess I thought Rodan also darkened the lashes - something I was hoping for. |

Nope.
I'm a little scared? I don't know any place that does it, except for one local 'spa' that I don't really trust. I try to make sure I only go to salons that pay fairly and are fully and properly licensed, and this place is not one of those. Is there a way for me to do this at home, myself? |

I just asked The Google and got a ton of places, but I don't know anything about any of them. I would be more worried about messing it up myself as opposed to having someone else do it for me. |

If the link isn't working it's called Godfrey 28 day mascara. It's an eyelash and eyebrow tinting kit. It's cheap too. |

There are about a million salons, locally, but a lot of them are of the exploitative variety. I'd rather pay more for a service, knowing that the person helping me is being paid fairly, and is trained. Most of them are nail/waxing places, and don't do tinting, at least not right in my neighborhood. I'm not so willing to go far for this, as time/parking/transit can be big issues. I'd rather just go with my natural lashes; my family and friends all know what I look like with no makeup. I was just hoping there was finally a simple solution. |

BBL, I have naturally oily skin and I find that just about any mascara I try leaves me with racoon eyes so I have my eyelashes tinted. My hair stylist does it, it comes in a kit and it lasts for a while. I get my hair colored and cut every six weeks or so and I try to have my eyelashes tinted like every other time. |

None of them are worth a damn sadly Even the ones that Ardell recently put out are a giant PITA to apply. I've watched a few video's where people were able to cut the bottoms of them into 3 parts and get them to work that way but I personally didn't try it because I wanted to return them for a refund. TBH, even in the video's where I saw people do it that way I didn't think they looked all that great. This eyelash tint is pretty highly reviewed and doesn't cost much. I've never personally used it though, so I just know what I have heard. 1000 Hour Lash and Brow Tint If you can apply mascara, you can do your own tint. It is super simple. |

Regarding the magnetic lashes, my friend says they are too hard to apply and she wears false eyelashes every single day. If she can't get them on, I know I can't |

Skip the lash extensions. My sister and I had them done, and they drove me crazy. Had them removed the next day. My sister loves hers. |

I agree. I am pretty decent with regular lashes and I found these to just be worthless. The first set I got (the original ones that came out and were like $60/pair) I swear I spent 2 hours messing with them before finally throwing one across the room I then tried some cheap knockoffs from Amazon and got the same result. About 2 months or so ago when Ardell released theirs I decided to try them. Nope... still a giant PITA. |

I would agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

My skin is super duper greasy and I also can't wear mascara because the oil makes its way onto my lashes very quickly. Except for the L'Oreal Double Extend lash tube mascara. It's the drugstore version of Blinc, only way cheaper. This stuff never comes off no matter how much oil my skin produces. It makes my nearly-nonexistent lashes look longer. Unfortunately, it doesn't thicken/volumize so I have to apply thickening mascara, let that dry, then apply the L'Oreal. The nicest thing about this mascara is that it comes off with just warm water. No special remover, no oils, just warm water. So there's no tugging involved! L'Oreal Double Extend Extend Mascara

BBL, I regularly have my blonde ended eyelashes tinted black. Almost all salons here offer it. You can definitely do it at home, you just use a clean mascara wand but you cannot get that stuff in your eyes, you need to keep them closed so someone else, a friend maybe, would have to do it for you and clean it off. It's a very cheap treatment here as it takes just a few minutes really. If i'm camping, I'll have it done and take my eyelash curlers with me. Lash extensions (for future use) are great, as long as you are willing to pay for the top quality ones; they are natural and fine. They don't drive you crazy. The thicker ones, I've had done but I wake up looking like I've put on a few layers of mascara and, since i camp a lot, I look slightly crazy with my pale face and blonde bottom lashes.... Pity about the magnetic ones. |
