Morning Peeps! I need coffee. Might run up to the gas station for a cup. Supposed to be partly sunny with a high of 71. Got some chicken cacciatore in the big roaster slow cooking away. DH and I will be wandering to St. Augustine for his heart test today. His testing starts at 1pm. We won't get the results until 4/27. I would like them right away but unless it's an emergency we have to wait. We'll have to stop and eat at least a snack after since he can't eat for 4 hours before the testing starts. I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday |

FarmMa - Everything is ok. Better Half is wrapping up PT in the next week or so. Then he will move to the "Y" long term, Apparently at 65 there is a Sr. plan we can afford. I can't believe it has been almost 6 months since his attack. HE is still working but thinking more about retiring early next year. The house will be paid off in December. Maybe a little TMI. I'm doing pretty good. I picked up(actually elected) to an open seat on the HOA. It will keep my busy on a steady basis. How are things with you these days? Gaping - Good morning to you. |

UFS, so are congrats in order on the HOA seat? I am sure you will do a phenomenal job! Work is up & down. OK right now but I worry about future projects. In our small community there is only so much work to go around for our industry so there is concern over slow periods. I just hope our finances are going to carry us through those times which are bound to come. This is the pattern we have had since the '08-'09 crisis. So different from the boom time before that! But we've adjusted. New people in charge don't have that history to see how quickly things can go downhill. Gaping, hello there! Sharing my coffee with you (it is especially good this morning for some reason.) Yum. |

FarmMa - Thank you for the compliment. I hope things work out ok also. I agree with you on the work. It has been "hilly" also here. Mad rush, crash, Mad rush,. etc. also. it has helped to pick up some volunteer work with the COA and maintain the library trustee also. I emailed the library trustees and director early to let them know I would not be available for either chairperson, vice chairperson, or secretary this year due to COA. Best to be up front early . ![]() |

I'm up and bagged and dressed. early as the big company contest breakfast is this morning across town. They have it every year and you earn points based on sales and listings. You need so many to get invited and then the more you get the more entries for the drawing where they give $10,000. They draw 100 names and eliminate one at a time. In 15 years my name only got on the board once. Then I'm meeting mother and the church women to play canasta. And I'm currently at war with girl cat who is determined to chew on the little flowers on my new blouse! |

Good Wednesday Morning, Peeps! Well, I'm still not quite myself, although the anti-nausea med is doing its job and I'm able to keep down liquids and toast. Right now, I'm attempting yogurt with a mashed banana. Slept a lot better last night. Planning to lay about in bed today with a moist heating pad on my left side and my laptop, well...on my lap. LW, hope all goes well with your DH's tests. Everyone else, have a good day, too! Take Care! Stay Safe! |

Good morning, peeps! Glad to hear you're feeling better, suomi. Dumpster showed up at 7 am. Waiting on the demo crew of friends now. One is our real estate agent, who is kind of pissing us off. We're behind schedule on getting the house ready to show, partially because of SO's health. But we also got held up by a guy that the real estate agent recommended. We need to get a CO for the deck and the wood stove. The guy came out, looked at everything, said "I'm going on vacation for a week but I'll call you when I get back." That was a month ago. We've been on hold waiting for him to give us a price for the work. Now that we have his price, we're looking at more cost effective options, because between the fees, the survey, the drawing, and his time, it's going to cost about $5k. We've already more or less decided to pull the stove out and take it with us, unless that will cost more than the permit. If we deal with everything directly, it will probably save us about $2k. Yes, I'm frustrated too. But don't bitch at me that your guy flaked. |

I am so sorry you are feeling yucky. I hope you soon are feeling better. LW, I hope your DH's tests go well. I slept poorly last night. So I have a nice fresh pot of coffee to share! Have a lot to get done at work. I had the two nice but kind of half effort kind of employees that don't get as much done as I need them to sometimes. So I have to keep checking to make sure they are on task and finishing the things I have set for them to do and keep giving them more things to do so they aren't standing around when there is so much to get done! |

Well, I miscalculated, and overdrew a little money, and then three little things turned it into over $100 because of the fees! Sigh. Waiting for a check in about a week, so it will be ok. But also my tablet fell and broke! I will have to replace that later. Lol. I hate that because now I have to read on my phone and it's much smaller. |

jeni, I feel your frustration & don't blame you one bit. Hope it works out with minimal fuss! DCM - We were just discussing how difficult it is to supervise employees who try hard to do nothing. Puts such a burden on the rest of us and they seem to feel no remorse or guilt about it. Sorry you have to deal with that too! PINK, sorry about the money troubles. And your tablet! Everything piles up sometimes. Just keep taking care of yourself, stay hydrated & exercise as you feel able. Glad your weather has cooled off a bit for you! blkcat, when is the opening performance? daisy, you are so right. Last day of the pooch-sitting. I need to hit the freeway about noon so as to get home in a timely way & then go to the library to have the AARP-sponsored accountants do our taxes. Early in the evening my nephew & his wife fly in & I pick them up. The dog will be on her own for about 8 hours, but she is a good holder; my niece-in-law says she can go for 12 hours if need be. We could have had a appointment w/ the accountants this coming Saturday, but my sister was anxious to get it done at the earlier opening , so we're booked for today. |

Morning Everyone! I’m later than my norm, but told myself last night ‘pain before pleasure’ so the house is dusted, patio plants watered and ironing finished. So here I am....20 min before a HOA required seminar on sewer and water lines! WooHoo! Shitty job and I was low man on the HOA totem pole so I get the honor to go. No tai chi for me today. Saucy: drive safely. I hated Seattle freeways. Do not miss them. BE: we have a couple of those type of BBQ places here. Let me know how you like it. Pink: sorry about the money problems and broken pad. Don’t forget to drink - water! FarmMa: I truly wish there was a way to eliminate the job uncertainties. Hugs! Nanamar: how are you doing? Daisy: record setting heat here, but I don’t wanna trade. Blkcat: are you resting your knee? DCM: sorry you have to babysit adults who should be capable of doing their jobs 8nstead of shirking them. Jeni: hugs. Hope the contractor gets his act together and all goes smoothly now. Suomi: take it easy, drink your fluids and keep trying to get some food down. RL: fingers crossed! UFS: so you got elected to the vacant seat huh? That’s one way to deal with the homeowners calling your DH whose term expired. LOL. We can commiserate together. Currently our issues are 4 pooping & barking dogs and sewer lines. Gaping: enjoy your day LW: enjoy the day and try not to worry. Glad you are accompanying your DH as you really do need to be there - if only to lead a second set of ears. Hugs all! I’m off to the Poop Seminar. |

FarmMa - Thank you for sharing. Mechanical Contracting can get real intense/complicated. Dinky - A former board member is having alot of health issues with his mother. He resigned last month. Better Half & I had alot of talks about it beforehand. I like your poop/barking dogs and sewer lines. Can you make 1 designated area for dog-doodom? I'm currently working on getting prices for 2 roofs to be completely redone. 1 roofer is a charm and is doing what we're looking for. Second roofer started with "the little lady pat on the head" while giving my his "pedigree" aka work experience. Then he got my "pedigree/work experience." we will see what he produces on the quote.:) |

UFS. Poop Seminar was actually interesting. Instead of digging up and replacing old cast iron/orangeberg pipe, this company (that’s been around a long time) can actually scope the pipes and insert a sleeve filled with a type of epoxy then inflate a bladder. 4 hrs later epoxy is set and like new, bladder deflated and voila! For a fraction of what it might cost to dig up floors and yards. The system was developed by this company and the Navy so warships pipes wouldn’t have to be replaced every 7 years due to salt water erosion. They will come and scope my home for free, so I’m obviously going to do so. Certain phases of my city were done with cast iron and orangeberg (the worst), so I’m praying that the contractor that built our complex (which is in Phase 2 and a mixed bag of pipes), used ABS. If so, things should be relatively good for me. If not, I could be looking at $4-8K if the pipes are bad. As for the PoopyBarking dogs, our city REQUIRES that all pet owners pick up! There are signs and healthcodes posted - several per block - as well as little old lady poop police! This owner refuses; his dogs are pooping all over his enclosed fake grass patio which is hard to enforce as it’s not in the common areas and now claims that all 4 dogs are Service Dogs. The health Dept as well as the cops have called on him. |

We're home and Dh is resting before work. I stayed with him through part of the testing. He seems fine but we won't get results till the 27th. After the testing I got him some food to eat on the way home because he hadn't eaten since like 5am and it was after 4. We stopped and played a little pokemon on the way home. I'm taking some advil since I missed morning coffee and no caffeine gives me wicked headaches plus stress. The chicken cacciatore is AMAZING! I want to eat the whole pot. I made some spaghetti and a little extra sauce. If there's any leftovers it'll be dinner tomorrow. I'm not holding out much hope of leftovers lol ETA: The part I wasn't with him I had the nurses checking on him giving me reports. Edited by Lady Wolf, Apr 11 2018, 06:52 PM.

Pink- he still needs blood work done. I'm like seriously this was the worst of the testing (nuclear stress test and echocardiogram). I'm going to make sure he does it next week so we get them back in time to forward to the cardiologist before we follow up on 27th. I get so worried about him with his family history. He maternal grandfather had his first heart attack at 42. His father died at 58 from heart disease. He's right that lifestyle choices played a part but so does genetics. |

Lady Wolf have you been to the Alligator Farm recently? I just visited 2 weeks ago when I was in Jacksonville for a conference. I was really impressed with the facility and the collection. They are the only place that has every species of crocodile and alligator in the world. They have birds and turtles too, and an amazing wild rookery with lots of nesting wild birds. |

Thanks for the support, peeps. One employee called out today. I was up, down and all over today. I am plumb wore out. Every time I turned around, someone needed something in the opposite end of the store. At least the guy I had on cashier was full on helpful for me today and managed to stay on all the tasks I could give him. I set him to tackling some of the front of the store things I needed to get done and we both made our numbers and beyond for the day. The not so productive employee coming on as I was leaving though is the person who needed to be on top of doing the signs and I am willing to bet a couple of cookies that she doesn't get them done and I will have to carve out time to get my signs printed and hung for tomorrow. I am just praying to get it all in place before our regional visit on Friday. |

Melonbird we haven't been recently but it's a regualr field trip for the elementary kids here. I've always loved that place. That gives me an idea for something DS16 and I can do this summer. Coco- at home he does ok. He eats what I cook for dinner which is gerenally healthy. He does have a sweet tooth and keeps snacks around plus he works at a convience store sooo there's planty of temptation. Also the pizza place delivers there or if there's a messed up order somethimes they just give it to the store employees. |
