I'm up-and watching the snow fall -still. Trying to decide if I want to try driving into the office, or just work from home today. I'm leaning towards working from home.

I hope all peeps have a good day today, and that the weather calms down!

Morning Peeps!

At work. Have a lunch meeting at Olive Garden today. I asked the main office to please not schedule anybody for Noon-2pm. Somehow they translated that into let's not schedule her anything after lunch. So now I'll probably be bored all afternoon.

Farmma thank you for coffee and snacks. I was bad and got a donut this morning.

Pudgy stay home and work from there

Refills Ms Jojo's coffee for her

Good morning, peeps!

I am choking down a protein shake. The texture isn't too bad, but I'm nearly chugging it as the thickness is weird. Ugh.

My trainer and I are not satisfied with my weight loss after a month, so we're changing things up, and a diet overhaul was on the list. First up - breakfast.

I gotta say, though, I am so much stronger than I was a month ago. My body is doing things that I didn't know it could do, and my endurance is increasing. My foot injury a few weeks ago really threw me off, and it's taken a bit to get back into my routine.

Oh, and this is exciting - this week I get to create my own workouts! I'm sort of excited/half terrified, but it will be fun. I've kept a journal of all of the exercises that we've done, and made notes about what I liked and what I didn't like. I drew pictures on some of them, so hopefully I remember them correctly :)

Off to do some shopping and lunch with a friend today. It was a busy weekend, so I'm hoping I get to relax a bit.

But first, I have to finish this shake. **shudder**

Good (Freezing!) Monday Morning, FarmMa, Lady Wolf, miss jojo and Pudgy's Mom, Incredible, and all Peeps who visit us today!

It is 'effin freezing in my apartment! Outside, the wind is howling and the rain is pouring. I don't think I'll be wearing the good bag and shoes when I leave for work later today (hours are 12 to 5). Thanks for the coffee; it is really warming me up! Anyone who can work from home, should probably work from home, today, Pudgy. I'd take advantage of that not to have to go out in this weather. Will this bloody winter ever end? It's mid-April already. LadyWolf, well, at least you can take a nice, long, leisurely lunch.

We'll see what happens today with the new job. It's only supposed to last one to three weeks.

Have a good day, Peeps! Take care! Stay safe!

Good morning, Peeps!!

One more day off work and I think it will be a somewhat lazy day for me. I have one load of laundry to do and I'd like to scrub down the upstairs bathroom. If I can get those two things done, I'll consider it a win for the day.

Hope you all have a good day!

We had some horrific storms through the area last night. Thank goodness no damage other than tree limbs all over the place, as far as I know.

But it really cooled us off. It had been such a lovely few days but now - chilly again. Supposed to gradually warm up a bit this week but nothing like the 75 we had on Saturday.

Am sorry for those of you still suffering with snow. Is 2018 unusual for you?

Working on my second cup of coffee now! I actually want to hold the mug against me for warmth. :)

Farmma I'm trying to do less carbs too. I've been doing hard boiled eggs or omelets with cheese and veggies. Sometimes I don't even want to think about eating another egg.

Incredible I love smoothies but they have to be thick and smooth more like a milkshake in consistency.

Suomi- try and stay as warm and dry as possible today

Waves hi to BE

My 8am appointment didn't show, my 9am showed at 830 but isn't eligible. Now I'm waiting on my 10 &11. I scheduled someone in for 2:30 and another for 4pm.

Good morning peeps. Sunshine and 59 degrees. I'll take it! I have some resumes to send out today and a couple of cleaning chores, but not too much going on. I plan to roast a variety of vegetables today to eat with meals the rest of the week, including Brussels sprouts, squash, zucchini and beets. Very easy and delicious.

I'm sorry old man Winter is still hanging around long after he's worn out his welcome. I wish we could evict him!

I hope everyone can stay safe and warm and dry and enjoy your day!

We had some pretty bad storms come through Saturday afternoon/evening and yesterday was much cooler and today isn't supposed to be much warmer. But tomorrow we're supposed to get back up to 77, and we should be back up to 81 by Wednesday. It was 36 with a wind chill of 30 this morning and I was not happy, I don't know how any of y'all are dealing with snow this late in the year!

I'm bored and window shopping used hybrid cars. There's a 2014 Honda Insight hybrid locally I'm interested in. Comes with a 7 year 250k warranty. It currently has 72k miles on it. The mile per gallon is 41/44 versus the prius of like 50 but I like having a warranty on it. Also it looks a bit roomier in the backseat compared to the Prius. I might even be able to lower my payments if I get a decent amount on trade in for the van. Sigh I should wait till this summer but I don't want to. IK know by the end of the summer my credit score should hopefully be even higher than now. I'll be over there on Wednesday afternoon for work, talk me out of it.

Morning All!
Another pleasant morning in the courtyard with Jim2 whizzing thru.

Weather sufferers: I do wish you were all closer so I could share this great weather (although the winds are supposed to pick up again today and tomorrow).

Incredible. I just find breakfast shakes unfilling . I admire your regime.
LW. Enjoy the boredom while you have it.
Nanamar. Good luck with the job search.
Suomi. Enjoy your FashionWeek!

I helped neighborDJ with planting more plants in front of her home yesterday. She has more pots and plants than a nursery. After a year, she’s finally discovered most of what she’s planted won’t survive the heat....so she’s thrown more $$ at local plants...dragging all the dead ones back for refunds. She did give me a huge salmonpink geranium that DS carried out to the courtyard. Then we shared a bottle of wine and admired it. (Wine drinkers - freeze some grapes and use them as ice cubes to keep your wine chilled longer. Works like a breeze and you have little drunk grapes to eat at the end of your glass.)

Today is my quiet day this week. The remaining days have something going each day. I do have some buttons to change out on a blouse, but my hand hurts and a linen closet to straighten out ....but I’m not inspired. So I think I’ll get some more coffee and find other reasons not to do anything today.

It's fucking snowing again.
I would throw in the towel but we might need it for warmth.

I shouldn't complain though. We only got a few inches.... Green Bay got about 2 feet.

This is not what I want to see on April 16th.

It's a nasty sloppy mess out there. At least it's not freezing rain anymore. Just regular rain now, but the roads are icy in patches, and I already had my winter tires taken off a couple weeks ago when DH told me to.

I'm not likely going anywhere today. Starting to get a bit stir crazy cooped up in the house. And have a raging headache from the pressure change. Ugh.

2 feet! That's just crazy. Even a few inches is crazy for April 16th though, right?

We had tornadoes nearby last night. Some bad damage but it could have been much worse. I think people really listened to the warnings, thank goodness.

Good morning! I am in the PT waiting room. I walked a total of about 7000 steps yesterday, so I my sciatica is burning a little bit. But, 7000 steps in a day is pretty good for me! Gave dog 2/3 mile walk, and then I walked the big Galleria mall with my friend. ☺

LW - maybe take a test drive? It sounds like a pretty good car.

Starfish, I feel your pain. We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow. Apparently that'll be winter's last gasp, but no one here is holding their breath. 6.5 months is a loooong-ass winter.

We only had a little snow spitting here and there over the weekend. Dodged some nasty storm cells on the way down for our trip. Back to work today though, so it wasn't nearly long enough for me, sigh. Going again in May and really looking forward to it. Just hoping to get in some horseback riding on that trip.

Today seems to be WTF day.

SO got a call from the doctor he made an appointment with last week - they cancelled his appointment because he'd seen another doctor in the same system. He had to call them back and say "look, I don't like that guy. I wanted to see someone else so I made an appointment with this doctor. Are you going to tell me I can't choose which doctor I want to treat me?" End result was his appointment is now 2 weeks sooner, but seriously?

We need some serious yard cleanup done so we can sell the house. We had a guy out on Friday who gave us a price. I had a guy from HomeAdvisor scheduled for today so we agreed we'd get back to the Friday guy today. The HomeAdvisor guy texted me last night to confirm. Didn't show at 1 as scheduled. At 1:15 I texted him to ask if he was still coming. No answer. At 2 I texted him again and said "don't bother coming."

Seattle's weather prospects are for an 80% chance of showers & a high of 48F. Charming! My hands are cold; perhaps I should add a corduroy big shirt to my ensemble. Or make a nice cup of tea. Or both.

Still haven't made the ginger cookies. When the weather is really nasty I start thinking it's soup time, & I do have the makings for pea soup, chili, or onion soup. OMS has put me in mind of how nice it is to have freshly baked homemade bread.

Speaking of protein drinks, as some of you were, we get Premier Protein from Costco. It's drinkable as is from the shelf, but much better chilled, & I use it as a base for my morning smoothies. It was recommended to our BIL by a dietician.

Smoothie Recipe
1 chocolate Premier Protein
1 cup Greek yogurt (optional)
1 banana, sliced
1 cup frozen blueberries or cherries
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon cocoa powder

Whiz it all up in a blender.

Well, it’s overcast, so the temps are staying in the low 70’s.
Decided, since I can consider this “cold” that I’d make soup for dinner.
Homemade pozole verde is on the stove and I’ll whip up some cornbread to go with it.
All in all, it was a good way NOT to do the stuff I need to.

Tell me more about that - a soup, I'm guessing? Or a stew? I love both of those with cornbread, especially on a chilly day.

The play went well and people liked it. Halfway through the Sunday performance the sky opened up and it started pouring down rain. It was so loud hitting the roof of the auditorium that the kids had to pretty much yell their lines so the audience could hear. It's over, we made some money, but we still don't have enough in the budget to do a musical. I think this fall the yearbook and theater club will split the donut sale money so we can get ahead.

I'm am now in charge of the gift tags we make at church for the Angel Tree gifts we distribute in December. We make the tags using Cricut cutter designs and we make 1000 tags every year. Tonight is our first meeting of the year to see who is interested in coming up with designs.

Tomorrow I'm taking a personal day to finish my taxes and clean the house!

It’s a soup.
Here’s my cheat method (it uses a crockpot)
2 chicken breasts or pork chops (leftovers also work)
Place in crockpot and add 6.5c chicken broth
1 cup water
Turn to high, poach meat (if required) then remove and shred/cube and return to crockpot
Next:
1lb tomatillos halved
2 peppers. Seeded and chopped (I use the chili relleno types)
2 jalapeños seeded and chopped
4 cloves garlic
1 handful cilantro
1 tsp oregano
Take the above and pulse in food processor and add 1/2c chicken broth to purée
Add 2T oil to skillet heat to med-medhigh
Add puréed mixture.
Stir and cook until color changes to dark green (12-15mknj
Add to mixture in crockpot
Add 1 can drained hominy.

Continue to cook until heated thru and lower temp to low to keep warm.
Yummy and easy. I serve it with cornbread and honey butter.
