Obviously this is a bigger deal for those of us in Boston, but is anyone watching the marathon? It's miserable weather for it, so I'm happy to be watching from my warm, dry couch. DS's teacher and one of DH's nieces are both running their first marathons, so we're looking forward to tracking their progress online. Go, runners, go!!

I’m not. I’m trying to avoid the 5th anniversary coverage.

It is my annual tradition to switch my cold weather wardrobe to my warm weather wardrobe on Marathon Monday, but it seems stupid to be doing so in this weather.

I’m watching The King and I instead.

My boss is running in it. I have a calm day because of it.

They're covering the men's wheelchair leader and he's just grimacing as the spray is hitting him in the face with a nasty headwind. These athletes are so unbelievably hardcore.

I've been looking at pics--I'm laughing at the runners dressed in what's basically underwear but also wearing hats for warmth.

I'm so used to watching the early Sox game today, it's strange to not have baseball this morning.

It's been a long looooong time since there hasn't been a Sox game during the marathon! (Last time was 1984, I think I read.)

I am at work, so not watching, but I have two acquaintances there. I feel a little sorry for them. They worked so hard to qualify and spent all that $$ to get there and the weather is just miserable. I hope their experience is as good as it can be anyway...

I'm not; too depressed about the lack of spring to want to watch people running miserably.

When is it going to warm up???

What a fantastic race on both men's and women's sides!

Yuki Kawauchi didn't even realize he was leading the race until he saw the yellow tape. He's not a professional runner, has a normal job and run a race every month or so.

Des Linden, top women's finisher, didn't even think she'd reach the finish line during the early miles, but decided to help a fellow runner stay in the game!

I followed 5 local runners that are part of my running group. One completed his 20th Boston run, and one completed his first.

I'm so inspired for my own marathon training for my 1st in November. I got not work done for the first 4 hours of the day! Good thing my boss was out of the office! :)

My cousin ran, came in the top 20 for her class. We're super proud of her.
