The Tiyyan are a reptilian slave race genetically engineered from an ancient relative of the Krogan by the Jikari to perform menial labour. They are known for their incredible strength and ability to survive wounds that would kill any other creature. The Tiyyan are genetically engineered to be subservient but occasionally one of them succumbs to a 'sickness' that results in them becoming incredibly aggressive. This sickness is known as the Fury. Any Tiyyan that shows the first sign of the Fury is instantly executed. A small number of Tiyyan serve in the military, where they are regarded as expendable and often sent on suicide missions. The Tiyyan fight with incredible strength and are lethal hand to hand combatants. The rabid Krogan fanboy in me demanded the inclusion of more Krogan, so here we are. The Tiyyan are essentially the Krogan equivalent of Neanderthals, being slightly less bulky than their bequadded cousins. The Krogan attitude towards the Tiyyan could be interesting to explore; the Krogan could see them either as long lost brothers or as genetic freaks. The Tiyyan share only physical characteristics with the Krogan; their racial personality is almost the polar opposite of their Krogan relatives. However it quickly emerges that the Tiyyan's conversion into willing slaves is only superficial and that beneath their subservient exterior lurks a rage worthy of any really pissed off Krogan who's been enslaved and forced to clean stuff for their entire lifetime. |
