The Altansar are a reptilian race from the moon of Coronata, orbiting the gas giant Saivesa. They have enormously strong legs, from when they travelled between the many moons of Saivesa by leaping from rock to rock in the planet's ring system. They have a small spacefleet and a large land army, preferring to fight on land or in boarding actions. They appear very slender but they have very dense muscle tissue that lends them great strength and resilience. They do not make their own weapons, instead using weapons made by other races. They also have strong biotic abilities since the rings of Saivesa are rich in Element Zero. A while back I wrote a short story involving marines prosecuting a war with an alien species in the rings of a gas giant, using jet packs to leap from rock to rock. Three Mass Effect games, some hard physiology crunching and an awful lot of eezo later, I came up with the Altansar. I envisage them as a sort of combination between the Turians and the Drell but with chunky thighs and Batman-style forearm spikes for gripping onto rocks and things. It's a start.
