WRONG. The Buddha is not a deity, thus he cannot be a deity you do not follow. The Buddha is simply the highest form of enlightenment, thought to be acheived by the original founder of Buddhism.

And you proved my point, that the idol will always represent what it is intended to, but it may not invoke any special feelings in many people.

Deity means a god, godess, someone of heavenly rank.

The Buddha is simply a being that has achieved the highest plane of existence. There is no Buddhist god, I don't think.


And Karthik, you said "it depends on whose looking at it", in other words, some will interpret it one way, others will do so another way.
