:D Someone says they are lying, but they aren't. Are they lying, or telling the truth? ?:-(

"I am a liar!"

If the person is lying, then that statement must be false. Thus, the must not be lying, a contradiction. If the person is telling the truth, they must be lying, which is a contradiction. It is solvable, however. The solution is that it is undecidable.

They are neither lying nor telling the truth. They are trying to confuse you. And they always succeed.

Your mission is not to accept the mission. Do you accept?

Yes. You didn't specify which mission I was not to accept.

There are multiple cases.
One:
They are lying about a previous action
Therefore, they are lying.

Case two, is flawed because of the prospect of the actions.

Lying about lying means your telling the truth, but the lie involved flaws it.

It's just a case of the Lady or the Tiger, isn't it? Pretty easy to understand, but hard to answer.

Lying when their not........ Its impossible. If your not lying then your not lying. If you are then you are. Thats it.
