 Is it the swatsika? It was orginally a pagan symbol...

Otherwise, I guess I'd probably say something along the lines of the cross or a lycanthrope, I think it's called– that thing you use to ward of werewolves. But I doubt the Hindus worshipped it... I'll have to think about this. Is it an animal of some type?
