Xero~ The Alluring Mute / Narcissus~ The Seductive Persona
May 21 ~ 2012 ~ 3:35 P.M.

Xero walked quickly down the street, apparently muttering silently to himself. Looking foolish, looking insane, looking like he was talking to himself. In truth, he had went through what felt like a nightmare, except said nightmare was real. And the insane spirit thing in his brain was proof of that. It was him he was muttering to, fiercely silencing him and admonishing him almost every minute.

Due to this newfound distraction, Xero barely watched where he walked, nearly walking into several people a few times now. This was even more frustrating than not being able to speak, because Narcissus was putting thoughts that he did not want to think into his head, as well as suggesting suggestions that were just ridiculous. Straight past Aiya he walked to the bookstore. He couldn't stay in the library because he was very liable to lose his temper, and so he decided he would get a book or two. And pencils. Because of yesterday.

God, how he hated yesterday.

He had gotten far too familiar with Narcissus for his taste (Not like that, please, he'd rather kiss the librarian) and was bothered all night in his dreams by the annoying Persona who demonstrated what he could do. That wasn't too bad, it was pretty cool even, his wind abilities. What was the annoying part was that he had the ability to somehow inject love - he called it Charm status - into foes. Still not too bad, except he demonstrated it on Xero.

The mute shivered slightly. His mind had been hazed badly, switched everything he thought about the flower male into obsession, and - well, needless to say, Charm was a horrible effect. Why couldn't he have gotten a more..cooperative Persona, like Artemisia?

You know you like me, Narcissus smirked.

Yes, I'd like to kick you in an inappropriate place.

He walked into the bookshop and heaved a sigh of relief, all the books to distract him was a godsend. Slowly he walked, browsing through the books and feeling himself relax. At least Narcissus knew when to stop. Or else he would've been, uh, violated by now..

How much is this? Xero attempted to ask the shopkeeper. Feeling a little bemused when he didn't respond, Narcissus butted in; Only Personae users, darling.

Darling. Ugh..

He had forgotten that he still couldn't speak after all. Only with the aid of Narcissus. He had been talking with Mitsuru so easily that he had completely forgotten...he stared at the book sadly, deciding not to object when Narcissus stroked his back comfortingly.

After the whole Shadow incident yesterday, Laito had lost all his research. To his surprise however, he didn't care that much for it. He learned much more than all the research he had every done on the fog. Now he had a Persona, Eirnoki. He wasn't sure what to think of him. Eirnoki was supposed to be himself, Laito gathered that much. However the gentlemanly nature of his Persona unnerved him. They was something else behind those kind eyes, a sense of cruelty. Laito didn't like it, but he accepted it. He was like that, after all.

Watch the street, Mr.Maki.

Laito looked up in time to dodge a huge crowd of people. If he hadn't moved, he would have surely been crushed by the multitude of people.

I've never seen so many people in one place before...

It is strange, but you must press on, unless you want to waste the whole day?

Laito nodded, reluctantly. He pressed on. Before he knew it, he was there. He pushed in the door, welcoming the gentle fragrance of pine. He knew where he needed to go already. He passed a rather sad young boy. Laito frowned, but passed on. No talking, he had to hurry, or he would forget everything. He moved to the stationary section and became stuck. Should he get the usual stuff? Or maybe something, more eloquent? He had the money...

A tall fellow dressed all in black walked by him, and Xero eyed him curiously. Not many people..well...wore so, so gothicly.

Pretty, isn't he? Narcissu smirked.

Go to hell.

Xero looked around, wondering what he was supposed to get again. He had completely forgotten after one distraction after another. Constantly on edge for the slightest sign of fog. He had never acted this way, mostly because he didn't have to. All his life he never had a reason to look around or communicate with others on his own, as happy as he looked.

And bang he was stuck with someone he was forced to communicate with, as well as those stupid black creatures. How he grieved the loss of his peace..

Well, at least you have me, Narcissus purred.

Hip-hooray.

Oh, yes, he needed pencils. He made his way to the stationery section and noticed the tall black-clothed guy there. Narcissus giggled and pushed him quicker next to him, repeating something that sounded like flirtflirtflirtflirtflirt.

Shut it.

He frowned as he tried to reach these nice pencils nearly at the top of the shelf, standing on tiptoes yet still failing. Groaning silently, Xero looked alarmed when Narcissus appeared beside him, but pleaded quietly for the Persona to take the pencils down for him.

Me being out of your head is in your head when you're not using your head to call me out, remember?

What?

Before he could react, Narcissus shoved him hard and he was promptly shunted towards the black clothed man.

Laito gathered up a number of notebooks from the shelves, and for the hell of it, he picked up a whole stationary set. The boy from earlier stepped beside him. Laito frowned, what did he want? He watched the kid struggle to grab a set of colouring pencils. Laito left his stuff down and reached up to help him. "Here, I'll get them for-Aghh!"

The boy bowled into him, sending them both ino the ground. Laito cushioned most of the damage, but he hit his head on a rack. His vision flashed white before he sat up, groaning. "Hey..what's the deal..?" he asked. He got up after untangling himself from the boy and stood up. He extended a hand to the kid to help him up.

Ohohohoho. This will be interesting.

What do you mean? What's up?

Now that Laito looked at the boy, he did look cute-Woah woah woah. He did not just think that. His mind felt cloudy, as if someone just hooked up a static generator to his brain. He shook his head, trying to rid himself of his thoughts. "Are you okay?". From the force that the boy had when he hit him, Laito assumed he was pushed. However... The only one in the shop was them and the elderly shopkeeper.

Wham.

Stars and what disturbingly looked like Narcissus's sash floated before his eyes as he slammed into somebody and then into the ground. There was not one sound for a while, except for a strange, high pitched tink sound. Disturbingly, he could only collect his thoughts enough to recall that tink had something to do with Narcissus's powers. Those thoughts soon drifted off, replaced by this content, dreamy warm sensation in his heart. It felt like he was sleeping. On cotton candy. While eating cotton candy. Reminiscent of something that happened recently...what..? Did this happen before?

Naah..he'd remember it..

His eyes flitted open slowly, and he stared into the face of the most handsome male he had ever laid his eyes on. Murmuring something yet not making a sound, he suddenly blinked when he realized he was lying on the guy in a very suggestive pose. In what could only be called how-the-hell-did-this-happen, his shirt had all come undone. That was more than enough to snap Xero out of his charmed stupor - he was incredibly conservative, and this was going too far.

Narcissus!

Pfft. You almost kissed him, damn it..

Xero glanced up at the man who held out a hand to help him up and quickly looked away, cheeks turning red. Choosing to quickly button his shirt instead, his eyes narrowed when he realized his head was still filled with thoughts of the man. He looked at the shocked shopkeeper and found himself a little drawn to the old granpa too.

Oh dear. Too much, I think, Narcissus murmured.

YOU THINK?!

Wrenching his jacket close around him, he coughed silently and accepted the man's hand with a silent thanks, unconsciously mouthing furious admonishes to Narcissus.

Fiiine. Be like that. I was just trying to hook you up for once, you never try to make the first move. Fine. Fine, I won't tell you his little secret, Narcissus scoffed childishly.

Secret? He has a girlfriend? Xero wondered to himself.

...

Please rid your charm from my head..

Ok, now this was too much. The guy's shirt had literally burst open.

Are you seriou...lovely...Stop!

Would you like me to stop the person responsible Mr. Maki?

Please do. Tell him to get the fuck out of my head.

Eirnoki proceeded to do just that. Laito felt a mental link open to another being and flinched. It was alluring..almost se-holy Christ. He shook his head in anger and let that anger rebound along the mental link. Letting the person on the other side know that he was not to be fucked with. He nodded at the kid and looked toward the shopkeeper. Laito nearly burst out laughing. The guy had his jaw on the floor.

Really...

Ugh. Narcissus. What a boring name.

That's his name? Jerk. Really now. Laito gathered that it was another Persona, but he couldn't oinpoint where exactly it was. It wasn't outside the shop, he could tell. Nor was it anywhere near the shopkeeper. Was there someone else here?

Right in front of you.

Laito stared at Xero, mouth slightly agape. No way. Not this guy. He was doing this to him? Laito clenched his fist, ready to let fly.

Now hold it Laito. It was his Persona, not him. I think that this Persona is a bit of a ....free spirit.

Great...

Xero~ The Alluring Mute / Narcissus~ The Seductive Persona
Xero cleared his throat silently. Not that he had anything to say, really, or neither was he able to say it if he did. If he hadn't been struck mute from young, he would be now. He simply bowed his head before the man, not knowing what to do or how to react - should he write an apology note? What should he do?

He felt bewildered. Narcissus had been unusually silent. For almost a few minutes now. That was unheard of. Either Narcissus would be outrageously flirting or touching him, or poking fun at coupling him with others. Maybe he had gone too far? Xero felt a little guilty - it was in his Persona's nature after all..

And Narcissus was, practically and literally the closest person he knew now. Especially when he, you know, lived in Xero's head. What if his Persona deserted him? He peeked out at the man out of the corner of his eye and saw the man preparing to punch him - a gesture he knew well indeed - and recoiled at once, one arm held across his chest protectively, unaware that the sleeve of his jacket fell back and revealed the long scar on his arm that hadn't quite gone away yet.

The thought of incoming physical pain and the thought of Narcissus leaving him was too much to bear at one time, and he couldn't refrain a tear from dropping.

~

Narcissus himself started laughing, managing to compose himself to purr lowly back through the link. They obviously thought Xero was the one responsible. So, the man did have a persona after all. Letting himself emerge from Xero's mind, he made himself visible to the other Persona and turned lightly, smirking.

"Come out come out wherever you are~!"

He had expected this - all was going according to plan. What he did not expect was for Xero to get it into his head that his Persona had decided to hightail out of there. The heck? It wasn't like he could leave even if he wanted to, unless Xero dismissed him himself properly. Lots of fancy bullshit and stuff. Not like he wanted to go, of course, as little as he looked it he was somewhat fond of the cute mute.

And then the Bastard in Black made as if to punch Xero.

Narcissus was in front of him at once, allowing himself to be visible to Xero now although it meant nothing since he was still ethereal, and the punch would just fly right through him into his master's face or torso.

"Oi," he said in an unusually serious tone. "Tell your darling it wasn't Xero - the boy," he frowned, noticing instead of murdering Xero the man in black held his ground and stopped.

~

"My, my," the shopkeeper said as he hurriedly turned away from the two temptingly sprawled males. "What an odd day it is! Look at all this fog," he muttered, wondering what was going on behind him as he determinedly rubbed the glass with a rag.

Oh bother. Might I ask Narcissus, why did you do this to my partner? He can get rather, furious. Someday, I won't be able to control him.

As Eirnoki talked to Narcissus, Laito felt sorry for the little guy. He hadn't meant to get mad at him. "Hey, I..I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get mad at you. My mind was all jumbled up, that's all.." he explained. Laito sighed and recovered the coloured pencils he had tried to get for the guy. He held it out to him. "My name is Laito. Sorry about that. Are you a-" he lowered his voice,"-a persona user?"

As he asked a question, the shopkeeper interjected with a comment on the weather. No, he didn't really give a shit that it was foggy right now. W-wait. His eyes widened as he looked at the kid, panic in his eyes. The fog was right outside the shop! He had nowhere left to run. How could he fight them? He couldn't begin to bring himself to do it. He looked at Xero with widened eyes, mouthing Shadows unconsciously.

Shit, shit, shit....

Calm down. I'm sure we will find a way.

I can't calm down...holy crap..

Laito was panicking, that was for sure. He paced back and forth, before talking to the shopkeeper. "Make sure that that door doesn't open, lock it." He didn't want the fog spilling in and creating shadows inside the shop. He didn't even notice the searching looks the shopkeeper gave him before he locked the door, and retreated behind the counter, ogling at the two. Laito didn't want anyone to get hurt, but yet again, he felt helpless. He clenched his fists again, although not at Xero this time. What could he do?....

"Yes, I clearly see that not every master is as angelic as mine," Narcissus commented drily as he seeped back into Xero who had somehow fallen on the floor and whispered a few soothing words.

"You sure are secretive...or really insecure if you never step out," Narcissus scoffed.

~

Xero was mortified and quickly dried his eyes. He hadn't cried since he was in kindergarten. Well, he did cry the other day while slicing onions but that didn't count. He wanted to run back home but his legs were hovering on the line between giving way and staying rooted to the ground, so he just stood and stared at the man, eyes slightly red.

Then, the man held out..color pencils..and Narcissus appeared before him.

Xero promptly tottered backwards and fell with a crash, butt stinging. Feeling exceptionally confused - even moreso when Narcissus smiled at him and reentered his body just as the man came over and asked him a..question..

Turning a light pink at how strangely tender Narcissus was acting, Xero stared at the man suspiciously feeling rather shocked. How did he know about Personaes? After everything that happened, he felt rather unsteady and didn't really want to get off the floor, maybe lean against Narcissus. But that would mean calling him out, and he couldn't do that unless there were the black things. Or something like that.

I'm sorry, Narcissus murmured, arms around the mute's waist.

It's..it's okay?" Xero thought, unsure. This was very different of Narcissus. What he was more concerned about now was the shopkeeper's normal comment about the fog and how the man reacted to it. Now, he knew at least two Persona users excluding himself. Slowly he got up and made his way to the door, looking outside at the fog. Recalling the first time he encountered the strange creatures, recalling how one slimy hand almost caught him.

Xero whimpered softly and backed away, bumping into the man. Forgetting it wasn't Narcissus, Xero turned and clung to him, eyes widening when he realized the mistake he made.

I am here you know. But, hey, whatever floats your boat.

Laito grew more confused as the boy refused to talk to him. He felt extremely bad that he had caused they guy to cry. He unclenched his fists as Eirknoki spoke to him.

I'm going to show myself to him.

Well uh, go ahead, I give you um.. permission? Also can you ask him why his kid isn't talking to me? Like, give him a message or something?

Sure thing.

As Eirkonki stopped talking he appeared in front of Laito. He would only be visable to Narcissus and Laito, of course. While Eirnoki talked to Narcissus, Laito turned his attention back to Xero. He had bumped into him and held him tightly. Laito smiled at him. "It's okay. We can do this. You know what I mean." Laito turned to the boy and pulled back his trenchcoat to reveal his Evoker, out of the shopkeepers line of sight. "You know what this is right? We can do this." Laito grabbed all the stuff he wanted to buy and walked up to the shopkeeper. He bought everything, including the colouring pencils. He thrust them into his bag, raising his eyebrow at the shopkeepers lingering stares. The old man looked away, blushing, as he returned to Xero.

"Come on, follow me. We gotta help anyone that's in there. I don't want anyone to die. Will...will you help me?" He held Xero's hand, staring into his eyes. Pleading. Xero was the only one driving him to do this at the moment.
