Xero~ The Alluring Mute / Narcissus~ The Seductive Persona
May 21 ~ 2012 ~ 3:35 P.M.

Xero walked quickly down the street, apparently muttering silently to himself. Looking foolish, looking insane, looking like he was talking to himself. In truth, he had went through what felt like a nightmare, except said nightmare was real. And the insane spirit thing in his brain was proof of that. It was him he was muttering to, fiercely silencing him and admonishing him almost every minute.

Due to this newfound distraction, Xero barely watched where he walked, nearly walking into several people a few times now. This was even more frustrating than not being able to speak, because Narcissus was putting thoughts that he did not want to think into his head, as well as suggesting suggestions that were just ridiculous. Straight past Aiya he walked to the bookstore. He couldn't stay in the library because he was very liable to lose his temper, and so he decided he would get a book or two. And pencils. Because of yesterday.

God, how he hated yesterday.

He had gotten far too familiar with Narcissus for his taste (Not like that, please, he'd rather kiss the librarian) and was bothered all night in his dreams by the annoying Persona who demonstrated what he could do. That wasn't too bad, it was pretty cool even, his wind abilities. What was the annoying part was that he had the ability to somehow inject love - he called it Charm status - into foes. Still not too bad, except he demonstrated it on Xero.

The mute shivered slightly. His mind had been hazed badly, switched everything he thought about the flower male into obsession, and - well, needless to say, Charm was a horrible effect. Why couldn't he have gotten a more..cooperative Persona, like Artemisia?

You know you like me, Narcissus smirked.

Yes, I'd like to kick you in an inappropriate place.

He walked into the bookshop and heaved a sigh of relief, all the books to distract him was a godsend. Slowly he walked, browsing through the books and feeling himself relax. At least Narcissus knew when to stop. Or else he would've been, uh, violated by now..

How much is this? Xero attempted to ask the shopkeeper. Feeling a little bemused when he didn't respond, Narcissus butted in; Only Personae users, darling.

Darling. Ugh..

He had forgotten that he still couldn't speak after all. Only with the aid of Narcissus. He had been talking with Mitsuru so easily that he had completely forgotten...he stared at the book sadly, deciding not to object when Narcissus stroked his back comfortingly.

Xero~ The Alluring Mute / Narcissus~ The Seductive Persona
Out of breath and whimpering lowly as his behind started to sear, Xero was torn between running away and staying because Laito didn't seem to be doing too well. Emotions clashed and conflicted at once, and Xero was immediately aware and wary of how very close he was to Laito and how this could turn out badly in the end for him. He was also aware of how Narcissus was laughing gaily at him, obviously finding the whole situation very funny.

Even more alarmed as Laito suddenly fell right down on his back, dragging Xero down with an iron grip. Xero slammed into Laito's hard body at once, and stars floated around his head "L-Laito!" he protested weakly, hearing his voice shaking through the line Narcissus connected with Eirnoki. "Wha-what's wrong!"

He also noticed how the fog sneakily sneaked away, and he gave a weird squeak as Narcissus was starting to laugh again, almost unable to transfer Xero's soft voice. "Laito!"

People were all around them, walking on with their business as though nothing happened. Laito's eyes were flickering, and he seemed to be drifting in and out of unconsciousness although his hold on Xero was extremely firm, pulling him dangerously close. Narcissus stopped laughing, but was giggling as he shot Xero's voice everywhere calling for ambulances and whatnot.

Xero, they can't hear you. Only Laito can.

With no the slightest clue what to do, Xero ran through his head desperately what the teachers taught about emergencies. Stupid ones like call the forsaken ambulance were discarded, and then Xero suddenly thought about that..mouth to mouth resuscitation thing.

He had a sneaking suspicion that Narcissus had something to do with that.

Shunting that thought and throwing it out of the window, he instead looked around in a panic and tugged lightly at Laito's shirt. "Wake up, wake up wakeupwakeup.."

He recalled how tired he was when first called out Narcissus, and wondered - but he couldn't possibly bring Laito back to his house! And he couldn't even carry him in the first place, he was small and Laito was large.

Come again~?

Turning red as he tried not to press against Laito so, he managed to finally get off Laito's warm body and looked away as he gave up trying to get Laito's hand off him. Noticing people staring, Xero considered his very limited choices and finally seized Laito under his arms, trying to pull him to his feet and get him to a bench. It was better than sleeping on the floor, at least.

Laito was in a daze. His mind focused and unfocused at the kid in front of him. What was his name again? X? Urg, it was a pain to even think any more. He felt arms sneak their way under his shoulders and he grunted in pain, feeling himself being lifted up. He tried to help, kicking his feet off the ground to keep himself upright. He was exhausted, but he knew this kid was too weak to lift his weight, so he tried to shoulder it himself. He managed to open his mouth, lungs opening desperately for air. It rushed in, firing his brain into action.

"M..my house, thi..this way."

From the mental map Laito had in his head of Inaba, his house wasn't that far away. Only a few minutes shuffle away. He led the way, leaning somewhat on Xero, his breath coming out in short rasps. He shuffled aliong, people now walking away from the site, and they were alone once more. Laito rested his head on Xero's shoulder for a moment, closing his eyes at the comfort.

"Xe..ro!"

Yes! That was his name. His...name. And..his..Per..per. Persona?

...aito! Get your head out of the clouds!

Huh? Who are you?

Laito gasped as memories were quickly played out in his head.

With soft grunts as he desperately tried to tug Laito the the bench, he groaned when he felt resistance. As if this wasn't hard enough! Why was he doing this?! Because this was the first nice male he had met in a while? Because he'd feel horrible for leaving him here? Because Narcissus was compelling him to? Xero couldn't tell at the moment, but he was almost tempted to start scolding Laito when he felt himself being dragged the other direction. His weak whisper frightened him but relieved him at the same time, thankful that he didn't need to pull Laito all day.

He was extremely dismayed and fearful when he ran the sentence through his head again, though, and realized he was heading towards Laito's house.

Jumping a little when Xero felt Laito leaning on him and placing his head on his shoulder, he shivered a little at how weird Laito sounded. For some reason, his pulse and heart was racing. He slowly made for Laito's place, feeling more and more nervous the closer they got as he staggered a little while Laito led.

Through narrow blinks Xero saw once again that Laito had different colored eyes. That was strange. Pretty. Pretty strange. Both. He was getting more embarrassed by the minute, never had he been in such close proximity with another person. Not since Violet. Now he was almost literally grinding his body against Laito's, heading towards his house. Horrifying situations raced through his head, including one that included Laito faking all this just to get him into his house.

Ugh...

The memories ended just as soon as they reached his house. He pulled slowly away from Xero, feeling his pockets for his key. Once he found it, he tried five times to put the key in the hole, before he finslaly succeeded. Another turn, and the door swung open. Laito half jumped, half shuffled towards the couch. He flopped on it and turned over, groaning.

"T..thanks..."

He sat up and tried to get up again, but his legs gave way. Man, he was so tired.

Why am I so tired right now?

I'm not sure. You didn't get much sleep last night, did you?

No...but I didn't think I would be this exhausted.

Laito looked to Xero and frowned. There was something about him, he was uneasy and looked embarrassed.

"Hey..are you okay? What's...wrong?"

He closed his eyes, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over him. This wasn't good, he neeeded some rest, but it wasn't nice to conk out with Xero still in his house. He waved his hand towards the kitchen.

"Make yourself at home..please."

With that, he closed his eyes, hoping for some relief. He grew more frustrated as sleep didn't come to him. He grunted and turned over, hoping to find sleep in a different position.

Looking on in a half-concerned and half scared to death manner as Laito fumbled about with the key. He was, right now just as effective as a drunk man with his hands and legs tied. He somehow managed to unlock the door and Xero had a split second to decide whether to flee or to follow. Narcissus gave him not a choice though and Xero hastily walked through the door as well before his Persona got it into his head to shove him into Laito again.

Looking away as his face flushed again, he nodded quickly although he really had no intention of doing anything except to stand here and watch Laito until he went to sleep so he could run back home and resume his now very abnormal life.

Three minutes later, Narcissus was humming an annoying tune and Laito was still writhing rather strangely. Frustrated and embarrassed again, Xero went to Laito and sat on the very edge of the couch cushion next to Laito's turning torso. "D-do you need something?" he squeaked out. "Water..?"

Yeah, he could do that. Water. That was easy, right. All he had to do was go to the kitchen and fetch a glass or something. He gulped, though - his nervousness was at an all-time high as he looked at Laito's face.

Laito's mind was beginning to clear. He embraced the new clarity, allowing more fragmented memories to piece themselves together. He sat up, finding Xero beneath him. He flinched for a second before shakily replying. "Yes, water...that would be good." He realised that his whole body was burning up and he was sweating like mad. He wiped his clammy hand off the couch and nodded to Xero. Some of his strength was beginning to return and he also felt a peculiar sensation around his waist. He looked down and blushed, hoping Xero was out of the room. He got up and shuffled over to a nearby cupboard. He fetched a small blanket and hefted it back to the couch.

He quickly covered the area self-consciously, blushing as he did so. There was no need for Xero to see that, unless he wanted to scare him off. Laito didn't want that, he was in no condition to help himself, except lie here for a while, burning up inside. The loneliness that he had kept inside him for a while came out like a tidal wave, sending tears coursing down his face, leaving shiny streaks. He didn't even bother to dry them off, letting his body do it for him.

Xero was battling with painfully conflicting feelings, unsure what he wanted and what he did not. He got up almost as shakily as Laito and fled to the kitchen, stumbling all the way. He fumbled with a glass and almost dropped it while trying to fill it up with water, and very nearly spilled it all over the floor until Narcissus took control of his mind and steadied his hands.

You're not making a very good impression.

Who - who said I wanted to make..a good impression? Xero hissed back. He heard the sound of Laito walking about and turned to admonish him, peeking around the walls and freezing.

Who's a big boy? Narcissus smirked in a suggestive drawl as Xero swung around and quickly ran back to the kettle, splashing water unfortunately down his crotch but not caring at the moment. Blushing and seriously considering drowning himself there now, he carefully refilled the glass of water and walked back to the living room, too flustered to realize the floor was wet and so were his feet now. He walked slowly towards Laito holding the glass like a precious crown, but froze when he saw Laito was..

..crying?

Lai..to?

Running forward, he slid and fell almost on Laito. Half of the glass's contents flew and splashed on the floor behind the couch. Gulping at the sudden lack of space between the two again, Xero stared at him for a while before pushing the glass into his hands and gently dabbing at Laito's cheeks with his jacket. Keeping silent for a while, he slowly lowered his head onto Laito's chest and gave a little sigh of content and relief, one of the few sounds he could make.

Laito was unable to hide his tears before Xero came in. The events that followed were as confusing as ever. Xero spilled half of the glass before thrusting it into Laito's hands. He didn't mind the mess, but he didn't know why Xero was over-reacting until he started dabbing at his cheeks. Laito frowned.

"Oh, hey I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to worry about me like this."

His mind was crystal clear now. His heart leapt an inch or two when Xero left his head on his chest. He was growing uncomfortable. He trembled, moving his body slightly upwards, so Xero would have to move.

"I'm fine now, really. Thank you very much... for helping me home."

Eirnoki decided to remain silent, for now. His user had a lot to learn about Xero's true feelings. He would be glad to see that happen. He was warming up to Narcissus himself. He chuckled in Laito's mind, causing him to groan. Laito sat back in the couch and closed his eyes. He would like to get some sleep. However, he couldn't just leave Xero there. He opened his eyes once again and looked at Xero.

"You can head home if you want, I don't want to keep you."

Worry? Was he? Xero couldn't tell anymore, Kagamine Len's Paradichlorobenze was playing in his head. Perhaps it was Narcissus's nasty influence, but he closed his eyes feeling rather comfortable on Laito. He was so warm and felt very..supportive. The sudden action and Laito's next words were like a hard, rejecting slap to the face that shook him right out of stupor though and he shot upright at once, turning red and looking away.

What was he doing? He was very much aware of the little schoolgirl-like crush he probably had now. Not like it was a bad thing, but nothing good would come out of it anyway. His face clouded over darkly for a moment before the gloom was concealed a melancholy but more neutral expression. Violet was not the only one who had tried to take advantage of him, and he had faced countless rejections while he was still young and stupid.

Oh, come now..

Ignoring Narcissus's sigh, he made to get up but stopped when Laito spoke again and sighed to himself. He wanted to get up and run so much. Run far, far away.

You-

Annoyed, he turned on Narcissus and looked at Laito. "You're likely to collapse on the floor again," he said lips unmoving before looking away and speaking no more. Now he felt like crying himself, but he had gotten all too good at concealing his tears.

Laito was annoyed at how he was upsetting Xero, as he still didn't understand how he was doing it. He shifted slightly on the couch and tried to get up.

"I'll be fine. Would you...help me up the stairs?"

Whether Xero agreed or not, Laito tried to head in the direction of the stairs, and then to his own room, where he could hopefully sleep. He locked the door as he passed it, so nobody would break in if he fell asleep. He didn't account for Xero in the fact that he had to get out. When he reached his room, with or without Xero's help, he collapsed on his bed and curl up under the sheets. He was ready to get some shut eye, however, Eirnoki wasn't finished with him yet.

Why don't you invite the young man to join you? It seems large enough for three grown men. You aren't going to just leave him standing there, are you?

Huh? Oh..okay.

With drowsiness clouding his thoughts, he spoke to Xero.

"Hey..why don't you come and join me in here? It's plenty big, and I wouldn't want you to walk all the way...the way home.."

He forced himself to keep awake until at least he heard Xero's reply.
