MAY 24TH, 2012 - 4:00 PM Nothing helps get over heartbreak, be it from a long-term relationship ending or a crush gone awry in the ten or so minutes that it had been existence, quite like hard work... or, at least, that was what the adage was. At the moment, Rise would have agreed that it was true-- well, if it wasn't for how she was on the verge of tearing her hair out. A tanned fist slammed down on the counter beside the open book that she was looking down at, the Sudoku puzzle she had been working on almost completely filled in with rather girly-looking handwriting... but somewhere along the way, she'd put a number in the wrong slot. And now? Now she was going to have to start all over again. Sigh. "Dammit..." That curse-word was muttered, softly, as she flipped her pencil around in her hands and began erasing, trying to have a light touch so she didn't obliterate the grid beneath it. That'd be the last thing she'd need-- to dig out a ruler and a pen to re-draw the lines she needed to fill out the puzzle in the first place. Shaking her head, she started filling in the numbers anew, occasionally glancing out the open door of Marukyu Tofu to watch it rain. She knew that something huge was on the horizon, something that put her in mind of risque music, of underground secret bases and 8-bit castles... of her eyes meeting the gray orbs of Akihiko for the first time. Sighing to herself, she shoved the thought aside before she tucked the puzzle book away beneath the cash register. After a quick check to ensure that her work smock and hair kerchief were in order, she came out from behind the counter and retrieved the broom from its place in the corner. If there was time to lean, after all, then there was time to clean. She tried to link her negative emotions to the little bit of dirt and dust that she discovered, but so far? It wasn't working. What she needed was a customer to serve... or maybe just a friend to stop by and visit for a few minutes. Anything, to get her mind off of the boy that had been so mean. |

Yukimaru recoiled from the first slap. "Not a tsundere my pale, scrawny ass!" Yukimaru replied holding his cheek, "I'll tell you what's wrong with you, you're in denial, you act like a love struck 8th grader, then proceed to deny being a tsundere!" The slap hurt more than the punch. That didn't make any sense to him, because the slap had more surface area, therefore there was less pressure behind the hi- Before Yukimaru could continue thinking about how the laws of physics, as he understood them, had failed logic for him, he was hit with another slap. "Now that one was just plain uncalled for!" Yukimaru said. Yukimaru huffed, deciding to drop the subject, turning away from Kumiko and back to Rise. "Other than the tsundere in the room . . ." Yukimaru said, "I'd like to help, but hell if there's anything I can do. I mean it would be a shame and all if your friend ended up like everyone else that fell into the tv." The look on Yukimaru's face had changed. It almost looked like he felt sorry for Rise. Not having any friends, Yukimaru understood how important they were, and he really wished he could help now, since he knew for sure someone was missing a friend. "And just so a certain manic tsundere in the room knows who she's actually crushing on, name's Yukimaru." Yukimaru said. |

Okay, this time the freak-out that Kumiko went through was too much for her to merely ignore. Casting a nervous glance to the door leading upstairs to where she knows her grandmother is resting, Rise clears her throat in such a fashion as to hopefully cut through the tension. When she speaks, her tone is louder than it needs to be... and one look at her expression is all the more it would take to see why. To put it simply? She was trying to give off the impression of trying to control the situation so that they could continue talking. "I'll have to ask you to please calm yourself. We cannot have that kind of behavior in Marykyu Tofu Shop." After a moment of strained silence where Rise carefully listened to ensure that there were no footsteps coming down the stairs, a relieved sigh escaped the former idol's lips. "Anyway... for now? The best that we can do is keep in touch with each other and share information. My friends and I are going to be ensuring that the tried and true ways in and out of the TV World are still there before we bring anyone else into it." Ah, so she has friends after all-- quite a few, in fact. Nodding, Rise let out a soft huff of air to blow an errant bang out of before she thought of something else that would be helpful. "Also, on rainy days, be careful not to travel alone. That's when the fog seems to be coming around, especially when it rains back-to-back like it has been. I know a couple of Persona-users--" And there's that pang at mentioning Akihiko, no matter how indirectly. Still, though, she works through it. "--that are training in the fog on purpose, to get stronger. If you're gonna do that, don't go it alone. Having back-up and working together is the best way to survive." As for Yukimaru introducing himself, well... Rise chuckled, shaking her head faintly. She was going to stay out of the quarrel between what she could easily see as future lovers-- call it a knack from her arcana-- but it was still a worthwhile opportunity. "Yukimaru? I'm Rise... well, I guess you could know me as Risette, but I'd prefer Rise." The former idol nods. |

This was so bad. Kumiko was acting so strange and she knew it. Just what was going on? Why was she acting like this? Kumiko had never acted like this. Ever. It was because of that stupid guy. She didn't love him. That's just stupid. He's just a jerk! A stupid Jerk! A jerk you find hot. Alranue commented gleefully. Kumiko rolled her eyes as she ignored her and focused on what Rise was saying. However, she couldn't help but hear the guy introduce himself as Yukimaru. She couldn't help but snort at his comment, before realizing that she was blushing again. Trying to ignore his comment, she turned back to Rise. "O.k, I'll be sure to be careful and such." She said to her, smiling at her while trying her best to ignore Yukimaru, which she was finding very hard. "Also, as you may already know, my persona has a special ability. Want me to use it on anyone?" Kumiko then asked, continuing her best to try to ignore Yukimaru. For some reason, she couldn't stop thinking of him. Could she really be in love? If she was, then why couldn't it be with someone like Kou? He's a decent guy. But no, she had to fall in love with the Kuudere. It was stupid, it was illogical. But for some reason, it felt right. She didn't want to admit it, but she might actually be attracted to him. |

Wait...that was right, they were still in the tofu shop, weren't they? Which meant that Sarina was quite thankful that no one was staring at them strangely, because Kumiko's odd behavior certainly would draw a few eyes, at the very least. Sarina stayed quiet and listened patiently to the older woman, Rise, as she explained quite a few things; Sarina had her doubts about being able to follow quite a few tips that were being said. Going out with someone when it was foggy or rainy, for instance; Sarina doubted she could follow that tip because she didn't have many friends to call upon anyway, and out of the other three there, the one she trusted most was Kumiko. Even Kumiko, however, might get annoyed if Sarina constantly asked for the two of them to walk together whenever it happened to be rainy or foggy out, because really, it seemed to be rainy or foggy in Inaba quite a bit. Sarina didn't say any of this, however, because it would seem quite negative in the eyes of the others. "Since we're sharing names, I might as well share mine; I am called Sarina," the young girl informed the group, before she glanced towards the boy and offered him a cheeky smile. "Hey Kuudere, if Kumi-chan's crush actually comes to something, make sure to take care of her." she decided to say to him, as a joke more than anything. Kumiko, however, would probably be horrified that even Sarina thought that it was so obvious; meh, the little girl didn't seem to care too much about that tiny detail. |

Yukimaru listened to the introductions. He was trying to ignore Kumiko as much as she was trying to ignore him, and for very similar reasons. Yukimaru was trying to sort out exactly how he felt about Kumiko. It was obvious that she liked him on some level, for some reason Yukimaru could not decipher, but he couldn't tell if he was attracted to her as well. Well, he had an inkling, but he wasn't entirely sure. Yukimaru blushed a little at Sarina's comment. "Hey, hey, hey, don't get ahead of yourself!" Yukimaru said, "And I'm not a Kuudere." Yukimaru exhaled a heavy breath and tried to clear his head. Who knew a trip to a tofu shop could be so eventful. He'd been hit multiple times, gotten into a small argument with an 11 year old, and met an idol singer working at a tofu shop. Yukimaru wasn't entirely sure what Kumiko was talking about with the Persona thing, but he didn't bother to ask because chances were that it didn't involve him. "Er, I should probably get going, but before I do, any chance we should exchange contact info since it's getting dangerous?" Yukimaru asked, pulling his cellphone out of his pocket, "I mean, yeah, might be better to call the police, but I have a hard time believing that they'd come in guns blazing over this sort of thing. Doesn't sound like the most believable thing unless you've seen it before." |

The former idol continued to passively observe the tension between Yukimaru and Kumiko, glad that her warning had worked in at least putting a lid on the more... physical part of their conflict. Rise wasn't going to get involved beyond that-- Heck, she wouldn't have cared had they seen fit to take it outside- beyond how it would do more harm than good in the big picture. Hoping they both realized that, she canted her head to one side at the offer of using Alranue's powers on someone-- and at the moment, she couldn't think of anything. "...get back to me on that. And Sarina? It's nice to meetcha'." Rise's smile was genuine as she nodded at the little girl. she couldn't imagine how it would feel to be a Persona user at such a young age, although it made her wonder just how Sarina had one to begin with. She looked to be around Nanako's age, and she hadn't had a Persona... huh. Shaking her head, the former idol found herself surprised that the lone male in the room had come up with a good idea. She nodded, pulling her own phone out of her pocket after she stepped behind the cash register-- all the better to hide the movement. "That's a good idea, Yukimaru-- and I wouldn't recommend calling the police, not yet anyway. I'm going to see what they know--" A lightbulb went off in the back of her mind. "Oh, that's what you can do, Kumiko! Find out how much the police force knows about Shadows." Nodding to affirm her idea, her attention returned to her cell phone as she went through the process of exchanging information with the trio of Persona-users in the room. It's not until after she's said what her number was aloud that she remembered one important thing to add. "Just, ah.. don't give my number out, okay? I mean, surely you guys could understand why..." |

At Sarina's comment to Yukimaru, she squealed and blushed violently, completely embarrassed by the what she said. Did she think that they were going to get in a relationship? Even Sarina thought they should be together, what was wrong with these people? Then again, maybe it was good that they thought they should be together... "Huh.. Oh yeah! I'll totally do that!" She said happily to Rise at her suggestion, sounding as if she was a bit out of it. She can't lose herself to daydreams right now. She was determined to stop going there all the time to solve her problems. It was going to be hard, but she had to stop losing control over her reality. "O.k. I won't share it Rise-chan. Since we're giving our numbers, here's mine." Kumiko said calmly, ignoring Yukimaru as she gave her number to the others. Tough she was secretly happy about not only getting Rise's number, but also giving Yukimaru her number, she didn't want to show that. "Wow. I forgot that I needed to get some tofu for my mom back home." She mused to herself, with everything that happened in the short period of time, her mum might start to wander what was taking her so long. Just as long as she got her tofu, she could leave and think about everything. Especially how to get information from the police without them realizing. |
