MAY 29TH 6:00 P.M. Yuchi had stepped out of his hotel room to do some late night shopping in the Central shopping district, trudging through the rain with his hood up. As he stepped into the south district, however, he started to notice a strange fog building up all around him. "Huh? Where's all this mist coming from?" He didn't remember seeing fog forming so quickly from his childhood memories of Inaba. He was about to continue on his path when suddenly, he noticed a giant blur in the fog. Curious, but cautious, he took a step back as he squinted into the fog, his eyes focused on the giant hulking figure approaching him. At first, he believed his eyes were deceiving him. Barely visible in the fog, he saw what appeared to be giant, black furred lion, it had 13 tails, demonic wings, a long, flowing mane, and, a most disturbing feature, a human like face. The face was pale, feminine, with dark, empty eyes. It's lips curled to reveal an array teeth. Yuchi recognised this creature. It haunted his memories and dreams. It was the Shadow of his mother. "Y-you," Yuchi stammered. Before he had realized it, a body numbing shudder came over him, his mind now feeling detached from his body. And yet began to grin, a most unnerving grin. His eyes refocused upon the monster, an expression of crazed thrill plastered upon his face. "Yuchi" was gone now. And in his place stood "Zaiaku". "Keheheh. . .I've finally found you. . .You damn monster!" The boy who was now Zaiaku outstretched his hand, and a card appeared, its corner spinning on his palm. He shouted, "Persona!" and proceeded to crush the card in his hand, summoning his Persona, Gemini. The Shadow stepped back into the fog, hiding itself. "Don't you run away from me," Zaiaku shouted, and as if on cue, Gemini lunged after the Shadow, slashing haphazardly into the fog. Sure enough, the Shadow leapt from the dense fog and swatted Gemini into the side of a building. As Gemini was struck and collided with the wall, Zaiaku fell to his knees in pain, and swore under his breath. Gemini pulled itself out of the wall, and continued to swing its nodachi aimlessly, only to be struck again and again by the Shadow, until neither Gemini or Zaiaku could hardly get onto their feet. The Shadow roared with satisfaction, enjoying the futile struggles of its prey. Because Zaiaku could not see through the fog, he could not direct Gemini efficiently. He was fighting a losing battle. |

For a moment, Yuchi was starting to wonder if the other person even heard him, as the lion turned its attention back toward him. He started to try calling out again "Uhhh. . . H-hey?!" It was that instant that the fog parted, making way for a lightning bolt that shot through it, crashing into the shadow. This shocking development (so to say) made Yuchi jump. "Wh-what the-?!" He quickly looked in the direction of the bolt, and saw a boy in rather revealing wardrobe, standing next to a female skeleton of sorts, holding a cup with smoke coming out of it. Beside them he saw a girl that appeared a few years younger than himself, standing next to the Pale Rider that was fighting with him moments before. So, these are Persona users like me? he wondered. Thinking the fight was over, Yuchi was about to send away Gemini when he noticed the area where the shadow was struck began to glow. The glow seemed to stand out in the fog, so it was easier for him to see. Not that it necessarily made the situation better however. "Y-you've gotta be kidding me!" Yuchi exclaimed. The shadow lion still stood there, the electricity of the attack surging around it's body, highlighting it's human shaped face, it's muscular build, it's dark wings, it's thirteen tails. The enitre shadow was now illumanated through the fog by the electric charge. But this was not all. Instead of coming to harm from such an attack, the beast seemed to draw power from it. It uttered a low growl as it turned toward the other boy, face twisted in rage, and after jolts of electricity formed in it's open jaws, the beast unleashed a thundrous roar, emitting a wide range of electric bolts in response. |

"Doust thou have a point with thy statement? If not then please allow me to return to battle" Pale Rider turned from the woman though the deathly specter seemed uneasy. This unease was not lost on Shana has she made a mental note to avoid the skeletal woman's bad side. After all it would not do to make more enemies than need be. It would seem that her caution and Pale Rider's unease was not without just cause as the Persona launched a power lighting atack that slammed into the lion shadow. "Is it dead?" Shana loked up at Pale Rider as she asked this. The spector shook his head. "No...." As if on cue the lion shadow began to charge up lighting within it's jaws. Shana loked around trying to figure out who it was going to shoot at. Unable to figure out the target she would direct Pale Rider to launch a dark blast at the crature's neck hoping to send the blast off to the side and mis it's target. The now lit up shadow was an easy target as Pale Rider swung up his scythe and fired a sickle blade shaped blast of energy at the shadow's neck. |

Violet~ The Promiscuous Hooker / Mother Harlot~ The Sinful Persona
|
Watching confidently as the bolt spiraled, it fell and struck its mark accompanied with a loud crash of thunder. Mother Harlot snorted rudely as Pale Rider spoke and the Shadow bristled instead of reeling as she expected. Violet crossed his arms over his almost completely bared chest, at a loss for what to do - the only battle he had ever participated in was a clumsy wrestle with some bitch who tried to take his food back at the orphanage. Fortunately he was wearing the flower brooch he had in his pocket at that very moment and shoved it into the skanky floozy's stomach. Unfortunately, the lion didn't really seem to be able to be defeated with a brooch. The Shadow lit the area at once, the fog becoming insignificant compared to the otherworldly glow the lion emitted. The lion turned straight at Violet, and Mother Harlot calmly walked before him as the lion opened its mouth and sparks formed. Invisible filth sloshed in her goblet as she raised it above her head while Violet's eyes widened; the lion bellowing and releasing a barrage of lightning bolts. "Imbecile." Mother Harlot took the full brunt of the hit, although Violet felt extremely prickly all over. She barely flinched as some of the bolts swept past her and smacked into Violet, although it didn't seem to hurt that much. Shocking, yes because of the little jolts of electricity he received. It wasn't painful, though. Feeling the hairs on his arm which was held protectively across his face stand, Violet finally lowered his arm cautiously when sparks stopped smacking into his face although he still felt prickles all over his body. Mother Harlot's arms were outstretched as her permanent grin seemed to stretch wider. The lightning didn't seem to affect her at all, but the static electricity was starting to get to Violet. "For the love of - move," he snapped as he quickly ran out of the way. Huffing, Mother Harlot strolled easily out of the wide arcs of the bolts and Violet sighed as he stopped feeling incredibly twitchy. "What now?" Violet grumbled, not liking this at all. "Intimidation, perhaps." Pulling a card out of nowhere, Violet crushed that too and felt a gloom behind him. Turning, he recoiled when a multi-headed creature that easily towered above him fell, slamming into the ground with earthshaking force. Mother Harlot walked to it when it bowed and allowed her to sit upon one of the many heads, then dropping her atop its body. Unable to prevent a slight bout of fright, he watched as Mother Harlot moved forward, apparently controlling the large creature. "Not enough? Come." She raised her goblet once more, and streams of darkness shot towards the glowing lion. |

Midori continued to survey the 3 persona users, thinking to herself. She had only just realized just how young the girl looked. To get a persona at such a young age, Midori couldn't help but wonder how she got it and why her. It was odd, especially to have a persona such as the Pale Rider, one of the 4 Horsemen of Death. The shadowy lion seemed to be rejuvenated by the electrical shocks and it shrugged it off as if it was nothing, aiming an attack at the boy who wasn't Yuchi. It seemed clear to her that these kids had next to no experience fighting. They relied too much on the powers of their persona, not ever attacking the shadows with anything but attacks via their personas. Midori. I very much doubt that they would allow kids to wield weapons, especially one as young as the girl. Alliat said sheepishly to her, acting as the voice of reason for Midori. That is true Alliat. However, they need to learn not to rely on their personas too much. It could lead to their downfall, especially if the shadow is resistant to their attacks. She stated to the large persona, which the persona could only reply with an affirmative sound. That is true. However, where are you going to get weapons, where are you going to train, and what weapons will you give them? Alliat inquired, not even needing to ask whether she would train them or not. I have ways. Don't worry about that Alliat. She said reassuringly to her, once again, her smile widening a bit that would only be noticed by those close to her, and Alliat. |

The Shadow, having unleashed its counter attack upon the boy who had struck it with lightning, turned toward the Pale Rider, who had launched its sickle shaped blast and attempted to leap out of the way. However, as it twisted its body to face path of evasion, the blast cleaved into one of its front legs, causing it to stagger and limp. Only a moment after, as Mother Harlot's multiheaded beast appeared, then raised the goblet in her hand, the lion was bombarded by the dark wisps emitted from it. Now further enraged, the lion raised its head and outstreched its wings. Enormous amounts of electricty began to crackle across its body, and it opened its jaws once more, a surge building within its mouth, emitting a low growl as it prepared to strike the other Persona and their users. "No, you don't!!" Yuchi shouted. "Gemini, NOW!!!!" In response to its users call, Gemini dive-bombed the shadow once more, and upon reaching close range to the sparking monstrousity, swung its nodachi in a wide arc, cleaving across its body as it soared past its target. The attack seemed to do nothing if not miss at first. A second later however, a large gash peeled across the shadows body, its wings suffering crippling tears, and ripping a hole through its other front leg, making the lion stumble to the ground. Gemini stopped in its path of flight, now next to Yuchi, nodachi still at the ready. It seemed to waiting for his next command. The shadow turned to face him and merely stared. Gemini turned towards Yuchi as well, as if to encourage another command of attack. Unlike the other Personas that the other users had, Gemini did not have the capabilty of verbal speech, and only communicated in common sense gestures, body language, and a certain amount of sign language, that Yuchi would interpret. However, Yuchi didn't need to dicipher any sort of Gemini's messages to understand it was anxious to end this battle. And yet, the human gaze of the shadow caused a feeling of hesitation to rise in Yuchi's heart. Even after all of this time, that face reminded him of. . . Before Yuchi could give Gemini its next command, the lion recovered from the damage it suffered in its mobility, and escaped into the fog. After several moments of silence, it became clear that the shadow had fled from the battle. The battle was over, for now at least. Edited by Yuchi, Feb 24 2012, 10:59 AM.

Pale Rider would suddenly begin to back away from the lion shadow despite the fact that it had caused a large sum of damage to the beast. Shana wondered why her Persona would do such a thing but that was when she felt the massive surge of power. Looking behind her she saw the massive dragon like beast rise "Ah..that's.." her eyes narrowed as she took a step back. As the waves of darkness launched from Mother Harlot's goblet she would back-flip away from the lion like shadow landing on her right hand as she press down to flip back further. As she landed she looked towards the shadow the darkness wounding it. As it roared lighting surging around it's body before the winged persona from before slashed the shadow with it's nodachi causing the shadow to falter. However despite the fact that the shadow was now vulnerable the other boy hesitated in giving his persona the order to make the final strike. Seizing this chance the wounded shadow ran off into the fog vanishing. Shana would sigh as she sat down dismissing her Pale Rider. "It got away.." |

Violet~ The Promiscuous Hooker / Mother Harlot~ The Sinful Persona
|
The barrage of darkness seemed to weaken the lion - or so they thought. Smoke covered the large, multi-winged Shadow but it didn't draw back - it charged once again, and Mother Harlot commanded the Beast to step forward threateningly, more than prepared to take another blast of electricity although Violet was apprehensive. Crushing another card, Mother Harlot drank deep and prepared to launch a massive assault as her Beast roared. It seemed unnecessary in the end though, as the winged figure shot forward and hacked a new one into the lion. Unbelievably enough, that single slash did more than what both Pale Rider and Mother Harlot struck together; severely crippling the lion and causing it to fall. Both stared in disbelief as the lion.. ..turned tail and ran. Mother Harlot snorted rudely in Violet's mind and cursed under her breath, exhaling out a long breath of smoke before fading away with her Beast like shadows in the Sun. Violet stared at the rapidly retreating lion which soon became lost to sight as Pale Rider disappeared as well. A silence descended upon the three like the fog, and Violet's legs suddenly gave way. Dazed at the weariness of battle swept over him, Violet closed his eyes and sighed, almost falling asleep right there but managing to just keep conscious. |

As soon as Midori noticed that the shadow had gone, she decided that it was time for her to enter the scene. Moving quickly, she jumped from post to post and eventually landed impressively in front of them. Straightening up, she gave them a pleasant smile as she addressed all three of them. "I must say, I am quite impressed with the encounter you just had with the shadow." She informed them all, scrutinizing each of them, especially the one with the persona of the skull lady. There was something off about him. He made her uneasy and for some reason, she found it hard to trust him. However, she didn't let it show in her body nor her face. She had to appear like she trusted them all, to a degree. It appeared that her and Yuchi were perhaps fated to meet, some would say. She had already encountered him before and now, it seemed as if he was special. She noticed how his personality completely changed from the beginning of the fight to the end of the fight. Maybe he had multiple personalities. There was more to the boy than the one she met in the store. As for the young girl, she knew there was more to her than her outward appearance, especially the fact that her persona was the Pale Rider of the Death Arcana. She did feel as if she seemed wiser than someone of her years would normally be and that fact didn't escape her. Plus, she didn't hold back in battle, something she liked. It was a good trait to had in some cases. "I am Midori Aihara and I have a proposition for you all." She then stated to them, letting her authority speak for herself. The others would be very wrong if they think she was an easy woman to cross. In her own way, she was ruthless to those who did her or her friends wrong. That was for sure. After gazing absentmindedly in the direction that the shadow escaped, Yuchi dismissed Gemini and turned toward the other two Persona users. They both looked as exhausted as he was, aside from the fact that he was still sore from being knocked around the most. Still, if it wasn't for them, he might not have had a body to be sore with in the first place. At first, he wasn't sure how to feel. Grateful that they ultimately came to his rescue, or perhaps apologetic that they got dragged into the encounter, jeopardizing their lives in the process? " . . .uh. . .thank y-" was what he started to say, yet cried out as a figure blurred from the posts and landed before him. "-Wagh!!" It took him a moment to recognise the figure in the dense fog, but upon hearing her voice he realized who she was in an instant. "Huh!? Y-You're the lady from the store!" He exclaimed as he pointed. He couldn't help but show a dumbfounded expression, amazed by what he considered her ninja skill, and at the same time, confused as to what the shop keep from the other day was doing here. Midori, he thought as the lady introduced herself. So that was her name. |

Shana would get up stretching her arms raising above her head as a few of her joints cracked. "Ahh...well if that is al then..." She paused as he snsed someone behind her, her body tensing. Before she could turn around though she heard a voice speaking. She turned seeing that the speaker was a girl a few years older than she was. Shana had not noticed the girl's presence at all until just a few seconds ago yet from her words it would seem that she had been there for some time. It was clear she neded more training. Never the less she listened as the girl called that beast a Shadow. Rather cliche but that was beside the point for at least now the things she had seen before had a name. "So that was a Shadow..." Crossing her arms she would looked at the other two people and as her eyes fell upon the boy whom had summoned the skeletal woman a chill ran down her spine. She turned back to the girl whom called herself Midori "Forgive me...but should we not get out of the street if we wish to speak?" |
