MAY 29TH 6:00 P.M. Yuchi had stepped out of his hotel room to do some late night shopping in the Central shopping district, trudging through the rain with his hood up. As he stepped into the south district, however, he started to notice a strange fog building up all around him. "Huh? Where's all this mist coming from?" He didn't remember seeing fog forming so quickly from his childhood memories of Inaba. He was about to continue on his path when suddenly, he noticed a giant blur in the fog. Curious, but cautious, he took a step back as he squinted into the fog, his eyes focused on the giant hulking figure approaching him. At first, he believed his eyes were deceiving him. Barely visible in the fog, he saw what appeared to be giant, black furred lion, it had 13 tails, demonic wings, a long, flowing mane, and, a most disturbing feature, a human like face. The face was pale, feminine, with dark, empty eyes. It's lips curled to reveal an array teeth. Yuchi recognised this creature. It haunted his memories and dreams. It was the Shadow of his mother. "Y-you," Yuchi stammered. Before he had realized it, a body numbing shudder came over him, his mind now feeling detached from his body. And yet began to grin, a most unnerving grin. His eyes refocused upon the monster, an expression of crazed thrill plastered upon his face. "Yuchi" was gone now. And in his place stood "Zaiaku". "Keheheh. . .I've finally found you. . .You damn monster!" The boy who was now Zaiaku outstretched his hand, and a card appeared, its corner spinning on his palm. He shouted, "Persona!" and proceeded to crush the card in his hand, summoning his Persona, Gemini. The Shadow stepped back into the fog, hiding itself. "Don't you run away from me," Zaiaku shouted, and as if on cue, Gemini lunged after the Shadow, slashing haphazardly into the fog. Sure enough, the Shadow leapt from the dense fog and swatted Gemini into the side of a building. As Gemini was struck and collided with the wall, Zaiaku fell to his knees in pain, and swore under his breath. Gemini pulled itself out of the wall, and continued to swing its nodachi aimlessly, only to be struck again and again by the Shadow, until neither Gemini or Zaiaku could hardly get onto their feet. The Shadow roared with satisfaction, enjoying the futile struggles of its prey. Because Zaiaku could not see through the fog, he could not direct Gemini efficiently. He was fighting a losing battle. |

"Evoker?" Yuchi asked, curiously staring as Midori seemed cast a search around them. What's she looking for? he wondered. After her quick search for something, Midori continued to explain to Yuchi the so named Evoker she held was not actually a conventional gun as Yuchi had assumed. In fact, according to Midori, it was actually another method of summoning her Persona as opposed to how Yuchi himself had conjured a tarot card in summoning Gemini. However, it seemed that it required the presense of the strange fog from earlier to function, so Midori was unable to demonstrate this method of summoning Persona. Because of this, Yuchi found some difficulty understanding how exactly an Evoker called forth a Persona. However, he was sure there would be a time, whether he liked it or not, where more fog would appear for Midori to show him later. "Uhm. . .okay then," Yuchi replied, nodding at this fact. Midori went on to explain how it was likely that more Persona users like themselves would appear, and would surely use either cards or Evokers. "More Persona users," Yuchi mused in wonder. For most of his life, the only Persona user he knew was himself, and now they seemed to be everywhere here in Inaba. Maybe that had something to do with the feeling that he'd somehow had been called to the town. Suddenly, that thought reminded him of something important as Midori asked if there was anything else he wanted to know. "Oh! Midori-san, I almost forgot!" he exclaimed, fumbling through the pocket of his hoody. He pulled out the invite he had obtained just the other day that had flown out his TV. "This thing mentions that P1 GrandPrix thing I asked about last time. You're not gonna believe it! It just came out of my TV!" Yuchi held up the invite, allowing Midori to see it. At the sight of the invite like the one she got two days earlier, her face stiffened. Her face became serious and a frown replaced the normally calm face. She took the invite from him and stared at it. It was exactly like the one she got except that it was addressed to Yuchi, instead of her. It seems that our predictions were correct. Alliat said in a serious tone, to which Midori nodded. I sense worry within you Midori. That is strange. Is there something wrong? Does it involve the boy? She asked knowingly, causing Midori to think for a moment before answering. It does. I'm worried about getting him involved. He's too young for this. He might get hurt under my care. I don't want that to happen. She thought back to Alliat, keeping eerily quiet as she talked to her persona in the presence of Yuchi. Midori. She said in a very caring tone. You know that this was inevitable. The boy and the other users were bound to receive the invitations eventually. There's nothing you can do about that. Don't forget about what happened at Tatsumi Port Island after you left. The kids there were about the same age as he was now. All you can do is help them train to fight the shadows. There's nothing else you can do." She stated collectedly, trying to ease Midori's worry in anyways possible. You're right. There's nothing I can do. But they're so young, especially the Shana kid. Looks like I'll just have to guide them down the right path. Midori replied to her as she finally snapped out of her focused state, turning to Yuchi and giving him her usual smile. "Sorry about that. I was just deep in thought. Don't mind me. But anyway, it looks like we probably should get training soon. I doubt it will be long before Shana and Violet get their invites as well. And I want you guys to be as prepared as possible." She announced. "Now then, shall we be on our way?" She asked as she handed him back the invite. Edited by Midori Aihara, Mar 31 2012, 07:12 PM.

In what seemed like the very instant Yuchi held the invitation up for her to see it, Midori's expression shifted to that of concern, and as she took the invite from Yuchi to examine it, Midori fell dead silent for quite some time. The sudden change in the atmosphere around her made Yuchi himself worry. What about the invite had suddenly caused her to appear so serious, so worried? Was it something about the P1 GrandPrix, or was there something else on her mind as well? Finally, Yuchi managed to speak up to Midori, who continued to stare intently at the invite in this grim silence. "Midori-san? What's wrong?" he asked, his voice filled with concern. A second or two later, Midori turned back to Yuchi, returning her attention to him with a smile as if everything was fine. She then replied that she was simply deep in thought and Yuchi didn't need to mind it. She also added that Shana and Violet would likely get invites soon themselves, and that they would have to start training as soon as they could. Upon handing back Yuchi's invite, Midori asked if they should be on there way. "Y-. . .yeah," Yuchi replied as he put the invite back into his hoody pocket. As Yuchi continued to lead the rest of the way the hotel he was staying at in the Residential district, he couldn't help but fall silent as they walked, not in the slightest forgetting Midori's reaction, but he didn't feel he could so easily get an explanation out of her. Once they reached the entrance door to the hotel, he finally turned back to Midori. "Well, this is it. Thanks for walking me back Midori-san." He paused a moment. "So, about the training thing, let me know when we start that." Another slight pause, hesitation perhaps. "If nothing else, I want to grow more powerful with Gemini so I can maybe protect everyone else from those shadows, instead of everyone protecting me like earlier today." His expression was that of determination as he said this. After a moment, Yuchi waved goodbye to Midori. "Well, I guess I'll see you around then, Midori-san!" And after saying his goodbye, he entered the hotel, thoroughly exhausted. [ EXIT YUCHI ] Edited by Yuchi, Apr 17 2012, 05:52 AM.

Midori's mind was rapidly working as she walked back to where Yuchi resided. Though she really shouldn't worry too much, it sort of was a pet peeve for her. She always thought about everything and didn't like it when things didn't go according to plan. Everything had to fall into sequence, or she'd be left in the dust. Once again, her face was serious and, in a way, harsh as she continued to walk with Yuchi. She didn't bother to talk to him, there was no reason to get him more worried than he already was. That would get them nowhere, and Midori realized that. The weapons she would have to work out eventually, she was just hoping that there was somewhere she could get some. She barely even noticed when they reached the boy's residence and it took Yuchi talking to her to snap back into reality. She realized that they were not in a house, but a hotel. Thinking about it, Yuchi didn't mention about his family at all. Maybe he lived here alone? Or maybe his family were too poor to afford a house. "I'll be sure to let you know when we get to training." Midori said in a polite tone to Yuchi, smiling a little as she watched him talk about getting stronger with Gemini. It was people like him that Midori liked in the world, and made her think that the world wasn't really such a bad place after all. It took the right mindset to please the relatively old woman, though she didn't want to admit that. As Yuchi left, Midori sighed to herself, putting 2 fingers to her head as she began to rub her temples. It was getting late and she should probably get back home. Hoping that no more shadows would attack Inaba tonight, she began to walk back home, her mind whizzing with how everything would fall into place. |
