May 25, 2012 (2:00 PM) It was a difficult idea in attempt to blend in with a rush of people emerging from the train. While the tide of passengers filtered out and proceeded into the depths of Inaba, Akihiko stood like a statue, one hand shoved in the pocket of his jacket and the other holding an umbrella. He supposed he could have found a better place to blend in at, but no other area was as wide and accessible as close to the train as he was. He glanced around here and there looking for fog. So far, nothing except rain. He was glad. He'd decided to keep close to the more congregated places in Inaba and the train station was prime opportunity to do as such. There was no stopping a shadow from feasting on those that had just arrived, not when so many were weary and rushing home. So Akihiko made it his duty, at least for now, to stand in silent watch as the most recent train arrived. He finally decided to move, attempting to moderately blend in, as he pushed against the crowd. He ended up bumping into a few people while surviving their stares of fire. But he ignored their looks of disdain. If they even understood what he was trying to do, they wouldn't be glaring daggers into his back. He stopped again at a new spot, a better vantage point in a different direction than before. Nope, still no fog. Good. He didn't even know what he would do if a fog did settle into the area. He couldn't very well summon his persona with so many people nearby, could he? All they'd see was a gun and a guy pointing it into his own head. Akihiko shrugged the thought away. He'd end up finding some way to clear the area. Besides, it was pointless to think about that when there wasn't anything going t--Wait. Akihiko peered at a figure that emerged from the train. Did he know that person? No, it couldn't be. It'd be too much of a coincidence. First Aigis and now..., "Takeba?" Her name carried from his lips, and he prayed it wasn't her. |

"Then you know exactly what we feel." She pressed on. "Case closed." If Akihiko was thick headed, Yukari could be just as stubborn. Still, she couldn't help a small grin tugging on the corner of her lips as a mental image of Akihiko learning ballet, of all things, popped into her head. "You'll never know." She said lightly, stifling a giggle. "We've worn sillier things when we were in Tartarus." Or at least, made to. She had never know what Minato was thinking; dressing them in maid outfits, santa claus outfits, armor that looked like lingerie... "And if you know that, then you know that I won't give up until you let me help. And you're not pushing me away." She had wanted to ask more about this Midnight Channel, when they were so rudely interrupted by a stranger. "Of course there are shadows here." Yukari said, a hint of sarcasm laced mostly with impatience to her voice. "After all, shadows are a natural phenomenon that occurs when an object blocks the light." For all they knew, this guy could very well know zilch about Shadows, but most importantly, Yukari was pretty much annoyed that he had interrupted her conversation with Akihiko. "It's rude to eavesdrop, you know that?" She couldn't help pointing that out as she folded her arms across her chest, regarding the man with a glare. It was probably hypocritical of her to do this when she had earlier said that they should talk to more persona users and form allies with them, but hey, Ikutsuki had known about Shadows but didn't have a Persona. That he used and betrayed them only added to reasons why they shouldn't trust anyone who knew about Shadows so easily. It was always better to be cautious. |

"Senkoku Hoshizuki." Senkoku replied curtly to Akihiko before turning his gaze to Yukari. He studied her face, then tapped into her emotional state. She was distrustful, that much he could have detected just by looking at her, but it never hurt to check deeper. She was most definitely annoyed, which was understandable to say the least, "Are you this distrustful of everyone?" Senkoku asked, his voice never gaining the slightest hint of emotion. Senkoku realized why they were so edgy. Senkoku hadn't exactly made himself suspicion free by casually walking up and entering the conversation. "Sarcasm is unbecoming." Senkoku replied dryly to Yukari. He didn't appreciate being talked down to like that. "And you know what I'm talking about." Senkoky said. Senkoku leaned in a little closer to Akihiko and Yukari, to make sure he could be heard. "If you don't want people overhearing information that you never know who it might affect, then a crowded train station isn't exactly the place to discuss it, is it?" Senkoku asked in a low voice. Senkoku leaned back further, then glanced at Yukari. He remained silent for several more moments, perhaps just letting what he had said sink in. "And before you assume it doesn't apply to me," Senkoku said, "my sister has apathy syndrome, and I do have the skills needed to stop them." Emotion never entered Senkoku's face or voice. The way he said things almost made them seem blunt, or that he detached himself from the whole business. Senkoku ran a free hand back of his hair, then brushed his bangs away from his face. "I realize I have to be suspicious, but do you want? It's not like I can simply use that skill right here." Senkoku said. Not only were there people around, but there seemed to be no conditions under which he could summon his persona. |

Case closed? It was far from closed. Just because Akihiko admitted he knew what they felt, it didn't mean he wasn't going to stop thinking about kidnapping them, tying them up, and keeping them from participating in the arena. And he'd do it if he thought he absolutely had to. Give them just enough provisions to keep them alive, or maybe hire someone to keep an eye on them... He had plenty of possibilities. He noticed her giggle-come-smirk, curious what she was thinking about. Though for some reason... Akihiko didn't mind Yukari being so... Yukari. She was still the same; the past events hadn't changed her personality. Maybe that was what he needed to see and hear. Mitsuru had sounded so broken down. Aigis had seemed so despondent at first. But Takeba showed him she was strong enough to keep stride with Akihiko. Maybe he shouldn't push her away... Conflicted now, his emotions showed on his face by the time Senkoku approached. Yukari didn't seem pleased to be interrupted, not that Akihiko blamed her. Senkoku seemed to counter everything Yukari said, which brought forth a strange glare in Akihiko's eyes. Senkoku must have been grasping for straws now. Akihiko and Yukari, clearly, walked away from the train station with Sanada obviously knowing they could have been potentially overheard. Maybe they should have walked out further. Tsk, Akihiko should have made sure they weren't being followed. "I think if you wanted respect, you should have approached us with respect," Akihiko said, his voice low. "And if you wanted a civil discussion, you lost it. So back off, Hoshizuki." Akihiko didn't appreciate being spoken to so dryly or curtly by someone he didn't even know. Associating himself with someone who seemed so noble and stuck-up was out the question. Respect demanded respect, and obviously Senkoku didn't give a damn. |

Well! He was acting as though this was their fault and being snarky to her in return! Yukari couldn't help but grow more annoyed by the second, and there was certainly a very tempting urge to slap him across the face. Even Junpei wasn't as irritating as this guy, now that she thought about it... although she would probably never admit it to his face, lest he became cocky. 'See, Yuka-tan, I'm not so bad after all!' She could certainly imagine him crowing that repeatedly around her. ...And even that was tolerable compared to this! "Well, I'm sorry." Of course, Yukari didn't sound sorry at all. The sarcasm was dripping thickly over every single word now, instead of being thinly veiled like before. And he would have to deal with it, however 'unbecoming' he had decreed it to be. "I didn't realize I had suddenly woken up into a world where people couldn't talk in a crowded place where everyone else should have been politely minding their own business instead of eavesdropping and butting into private conversations at their whims. I apologize. It's just sooooo unbecoming of me." She rolled her eyes. "So, is it now acceptable to let's say, interrupt a couple making out in public, just to declare that what they're doing reminds you of your ex-girlfriend? Do tell. I have absolutely no idea how this world works anymore." Certainly, just as Akihiko had pointed out, Yukari could not find it in herself to respect Senkoku. Not even when he mentioned Apathy Syndrome, not even when he hinted he had the skills to use a Persona. Sure, she felt sorry for the poor girl that had to be stuck with a brother like this, and then to end up as one of the Lost. But if he was trying use it to gain sympathy in an attempt to justify his actions, then he had picked the wrong people. Every single one of them in SEES had lost people important to them, and they were all dead. They would never be able to see them again, to hold their hands... She still missed him so much. |

"Sorry, I didn't mean any disrespect." Senkoku said to Akihiko, "Believe me, I don't deserve any of your respect. I didn't mean to offend you." He then turned to Yukari. "Well, if my ex was a serial killer, and the couple were police on the case . . ." Senkoku just let himself trail off, "If you want me to leave, simply say so. It certainly doesn't persuade someone to your side if you use overblown examples." Senkoku turned away and glanced over his shoulder are Yukari." Senkoku then addressed them both. "Again, forgive me, I shouldn't have interrupted. I was just a little eager to meet someone new. I thought I heard something we had in common, so I jumped in." Senkoku said. He turned his head back forward and started towards the exit. Senkoku reached the exit and immediately noticed a dense fog. Hadn't the two of them back there said something about fog . . .? Senkoku's eyes went wide as he saw movement within the fog. So these were the shadows he had been talking about. It now stung even more that he had blown his first chance at making allies. Senkoku focused his mind, a tarot card appearing in front of him. It took him a little longer than most using that method, then again he was summoning two personas at once. "Persona!" Senkoku shouted, two large figures, some mix of human and bird appearing nearby him. "I guess I'm simply not meant to experience peace for to long." Senkoku commented to himself, "Hugin! Vorpal Blade!" The violet blue persona rushed forward, and swung one of its wide arms at some sphere like shadows that only had a wide mouth and a wagging tongue as features. Akihiko found himself stuck in-between two warring parties that forced him to groan in exasperation. Yukari was as feisty as ever with her constant bites dripping sarcasm. Senkoku was backpedaling while throwing stones of his own. Rolling his eyes, the last thing he wanted was to choke both of them back into civil human beings. Senkoku turned to leave as Akihiko's words turned toward Takeba. "You laid it on a bit thick, Takeba." Not that he disagreed with her motivations, but... really, the snips from both sides were uncalled for. "Anyways, there's a place called the Amagi Inn in town. Their hot springs are good. I bet we could get Mitsuru to buy you a room once she finds out you're in tow--" Someone had just shouted persona as Akihiko's eyes rolled toward the direction. More shouts rung in the distance and Akihiko cursed to himself. That stupid idiot was summoning a persona in public! He just got done bitching about speaking things in crowded streets, and what did he just do? He put a target on himself as no doubt pedestrians would see everything and force them to report Senkoku to the police! Should Akihiko get involved? Clenching his teeth, he normally would, but the odds were against him in being seen... "Come on," he muttered. He eyed the long bag on Yukari's shoulder. "I'll handle the kid. You handle the shadows with that," looking at her bow. "Deal?" Letting a smile pluck at his lips, this was a fight and Akihiko strangely enjoyed all fights. He darted ahead into the fog, ignoring the fact their were two personas. Instead he skidded beside Senkoku, balled his hand to a fist and aimed to punch the kid with a well placed fist to knock him unconscious. No conscious persona user meant the kid's personas would dissipate, right? Maybe Sanada and Takeba would actually save this kid's freedom from the clutches of stupidity. |

Yukari could have very well retorted back in indignation, partly because of her pride that she refused to back down from a verbal fight when he was clearly wrong. However, Akihiko's words made her clamp her mouth shut, remembering that blowing her temper out of proportion was never a good thing. The girl took a deep breath, cleansing the negative emotions out of her, and decided to ignore Senkoku instead. Whatever. It wasn't worth arguing with someone as thickheaded and rude as he was. "Sounds nice." She said, with a small smile. The mention of hot springs reminded her of when they went on that field trip to Kyoto... "But Senpai, I can pay for my room. Really." After all, she had come prepared to stay here, and had some money saved up from working part-time jobs. --Persona?! Yukari whipped around at the shout, only to realize that that insolent boy had summoned a persona. So he really was a persona user... but what partly troubled her was that he didn't seem to have an evoker on hand. So how did he... unless he was like Takaya? But now wasn't the time to do reconnaissance. There were shadows, and it was a danger to everyone around. For a moment, she wondered if she would have to draw her Evoker, but Akihiko had given her instructions. Yukari complied, dutifully swinging the bag off her shoulder and unzipping it, pulling out her weapon that was within. She nicked an arrow in the drawstring, aiming it at the Shadows. For a moment, Yukari's hands shook; it had been a long time since she had been a good fight, but with the thought of Minato, her grip steadied. Her first arrow caught one of the Shadows, and she let more fly. Some missed their target, as the Shadows avoided the arrows, though some did manage to strike exactly where she had intended to. |

Senkoku side stepped Akihiko's attack and gave him an almost bored seeming glance. The timing was purely coincidental, he had simply sensed Akihiko's intent and acted on what he felt. "As much as I deserve that punch, now isn't the time." Senkoku said, strangely calmly for just having been swung at. "I don't need the distraction." Senkoku's currently nearly glowing red eyes returned to the shadows in front of him. An almost sad tone entered his voice, though it was incredibly faint. "Of all places, why here?" Senkoku asked, more to himself than anyone else. He had come to Inaba to simply be able to start a new slate and leave behind the past, but there were shadows here. A shock ran through Senkoku's body as a shadow attacked the currently immobile Munin. This was why he couldn't afford distraction. The shadows seemed to be using physical attacks for the most part. He couldn't let the damage drag him down. "Munin, tetrakarn!" Senkoku commanded, the white avian figure created a shield in front of Yukari. This was definitely going to burden him, especially with how much how was using his persona. "Hugin, again, Vorpal Blade!" Senkoku commanded, forcing stamina out of himself so that Hugin could swing an arm and cleave through the shadows once more. "Tough Bastards, aren't you?" Senkoku asked, looking at the still standing shadows. He figured he could use vorpal blade another time, but what if people needed healing? Senkoku glanced at Yukari's bow and realized that with the number of shadows here, it wouldn't be like in Gion, where he only ever encountered a few, easily dispatched shadows. To conserve his abilities he needed a weapon. |

Now isn't the time?! This was the perfect time to get his face punched and body knocked out cold. God, this kid was an idiot! Didn't he realize how discreet Persona users had to be? There were shadows here--fine--but there were those of them that could handle the shadows without the need of a persona. And obviously this kid was too immature to realize it as he was using attacks that could easily miss and hurt somebody! Yukari went about dealing with the shadows with her bow and arrow as Akihiko's mind whirled with new stances and ideas. He'd have to time his punches better since he missed such a damn easy shot. Looking around, Akihiko cursed. "You're going to get caught, you idiot!" He hated stupid, immature brats who dismissed the obvious experience others had. No one else would be stupid enough to jump in and start attacking shadows like a pro without having the experience to back them up. Debating what to do now, should he jump back, or should he strangle the moron to death? As the seconds went by, Akihiko cursed yet again. "Dismiss your personas." Personas? Akihiko didn't have time to dwell on it. He had seen one of them shield Yukari. "We don't need the protection." Yukari could handle her own. If she couldn't, then this would be the best course of training to get her back into shape. Steeling himself, Akihiko looked around. His luck, they were already spotted by the surveillance cameras. He darted into the fog, skirting the shadows in an attempt to coral them into a centering position. A foot lash, a punch in the air, maybe even toying with them to attack--either way, if the kid wanted to attack with his personas, he'd be forced to attack Akihiko alongside them. If that happened, Senkoku's ass was going to be in trouble by multiple SEES members. All he wanted was to give Yukari an easier shot. She was the one who would be the most effective right now--not him. |
