May 27th 1:30pm Shiroku Store Once again, Midori was tending to the store, looking over all the merchandise and any other odd jobs she needed to do. The shop owner had to go out for a while and she left Midori in charge. She knew that Midori was competent enough to keep control over the store and knew she wouldn't get up to anything bad. Midori enjoyed the peaceful life very much. Some workaholics would've given everything to work for the Kirijou Group but for Midori, she was content with life being simple and calm. All that work made her feel very stressed out and now that she was in Inaba, she felt at ease with the entire town. Though the fog was coming back and Midori knew something was up. She never did worry about the fog too much when it came before. But now, the fog was becoming ever more frequent and she noticed the way that shadows infiltrated Inaba during such times. It was the main reason why she kept her Evoker and shuriken with her at all times. She needed to be ready. Her breasts were starting to hurt a little from just standing behind the counter and she decided to move around and sort out all of the merchandise, clearing up any messes that were in the shop. Just another normal day for her. |

Yuchi was running out of his favorite herbal tea, so he walked into the Shiroku store. Although he also heard that the store had sold some peculiar items, as if they were meant to be used to heal drastic wounds. He chuckled though, it could only have been an urban rumor or something. Yet, at the same time, after what he saw about the tournament while watching the midnight channel, he thought that he may as well look into it further. He saw the girl arranging the merchandise and wondered how he should approach such an inquiry. Should he try, "Hi, my name is Yuchi, I'd like some herbal tea, a box of band aids and, oh, some information about the thing from the Midnight channel, it sure was weird, huh?" Of course not! Half his personality might be that of a mixed bag of nuts, but that didn't mean he wanted everyone to actually think that about the other half too! So instead of asking even for the herbal tea that he came for in the first place, he just stood there in the doorway, staring at the back of the girls head, at a loss. He was barely aware that he almost looked like a sort of creeper, standing there, staring. |

At the sound of someone's voice, she stopped what she was doing and turned around. The fact that the kid was staring at her didn't bother her at all. For one thing, she was very used to stares from people due to her eccentric clothing and large assets. There had even been some times that people have tried to grope her, but she always dealt with them swiftly. Her eyes widened in subtle shock at his words. My god was he blunt about wanting to know about the midnight channel. Midori would've expected someone to try to be more subtle about trying to find out about the Midnight Channel. "O.k, I'll get them for you." She said kindly, smiling at him as she bustled around the shop and got the herbal tea and bandages, all the while thinking intently. Her mouth formed a little frown as she continued to look around for the items he asked for, wondering just why he wanted to know about the midnight channel. There must be some important reason as to why, but Midori couldn't think of anything. Could the Midnight Channel be connected to the outbreak of shadows recently? When she had finished getting the goods, she put back on a smile and briskly made her way towards the counter, motioning the kid to come to the counter in order to pay for the items. "May I inquire as to why you want to know about the Midnight Channel?" She asked him calmly, not letting any information slip from her unless she got some answers. Just who was this kid and why did he want to know about a rumor such as the midnight channel? |

OH CRAP Yuchi thought as the girl turned her attention to him, for he hadn't realized that the question he had visualized asking in his head had actually been spoken from his mouth. However, he knew that he never did have an effective mental to verbal filter, so he couldn't quite say he was surprised such a thing had occured. Nonetheless, he felt like a total idiot for the outburst. Needless to say though, because of this sudden manner of asking a question like that out of the blue, surely making this girl think he was crazy, he racked his brain for any sort of explanation. Then a wishful thought occured to him, Maybe she didn't quite cath the last part. Sadly, such was not the case, for after the girl had gathered the tea and band aids and motioned him to the counter to pay, she asked why he wanted to know about the Midnight Channel. Crraaaaaaaaaaaahhpuh-okay okay he thought. It's not like you wern't gonna ask about it in. . .maybe a more subtle way. Just explain yourself, if you get the sanity-check look, just take the tea and band aids and walk away quickly. Simple. You know you can do this! However, even as he thought this (and he made sure it STAYED a thought) he felt himself break into a nervous sweat. He stepped up to the counter, and took a deep breath: Weeeeeeeeeellllllllll I-was-just-wondering-because-I-was-watching-the-midnight-channel-the-other-night,-did-I-mention-I-just-arrived-from-my-home-in-Iwatodai,-no-I-guess-I-didn't,-but-in-any-case-I-was-watching-the-midnight-channel-the-other-day-and-I-noticed-this-advertisement-for-something-called-the-P1-GRANDPRIX-and-I-thought-'hey-whatz-a-P1-Grand-Prix'-I-mean-sure-I've-had-a-persona-for-some-time-now-and-heard-stuff-happening-around-Inaba-some-months-ago-but-I-havent-lived-here-for-'bout-ten-years-now,-so-when-I-heard-this-store-used-to-sell-weird-wound-healing-stuff,-I-thought-I'd-ask-about-the-Midnight-Channel-in-case-there-really-WAS-something-weird-going-on-but-I-know-that-just-sounds-silly-right?! By the time he had nervously splurred all of this out, he was blue in the face and looked ready to faint. |

Her eyes widened a bit as the boy started splurging out a bunch of words, causing her to have to listen to him closely in order to discern just what the heck was going on. Midori listened intently as the boy told her everything he knew, which she thought was pretty stupid and must've been caused due to fear or something like that. From what she heard, this kid watched something on the midnight channel called the "P1 Grand Prix" and that he was new around here. She guessed that as there would've been no way for him not to have known about the rumor if he was a resident here. Also, he gave away that he had a persona, which Midori thought you should never give away, and also that he knew that the store sold medicines and the like, some even powerful enough to revive people from near-death. The truth was, the store did still sell this stuff, it's not like it was hidden from normal eyes or anything like that. Midori noticed how people tended to look over all of the medicines and just focus on what they wanted. If only they knew. Looking at the boy's face, it was clear he needed to breathe. "Yuchi, breathe." She said a bit sternly to him, not wanting him to die of suffocation. "Look. We still sell those "healing stuff", it's not like it's particularly hidden or anything. Also, don't tell people you're a persona user. That's stupid. Also, I'll tell you as long as you promise to work with me in solving just what is going on here." She continued to explain to him, never breaking that small smile to show what she was truly thinking. The more information she had and the more people she had to help her, the better. If he is a persona user, like he claims to be, he would be very useful. Very useful indeed. |

"Wuh?" was what Yuchi managed to breath out as the girl confirmed that the healing stuff wasn't neccessarily hidden in the first place. Taking a quick glance through the store he realized it was true. Items that practically shouted "emergency healing merchandise" filled the shelves. He couldn't fathom why he didn't notice sooner. One of such items were stocked on the self right next to him, and if it were a snake, it'd probably bite him (then he really would need those band aids atthe very least). He felt even more sheepish when the girl had sternly told him not to go around telling everyone he had a Persona. This, too, had never quite occured to him. But seeing how people back in Iwatodai avoided him because of his. . .less stable state of mind, it wasn't like he talked to many people at all in the first place. However, when the girl proposed he promise to help her with some sort of investigation of the current events in exchange for the answers to his questions, he quickly pulled himself together. At first, he hesitated, wondering if getting involved in some investigation was something he could handle. After a moments consideration, he answered, "Well. . .I guess that sounds fair." A final hesitation. "Okay, sure, it's a promise, but what exactly do I need to do?" |

"Easy. All you need to do is tell me any information that you find." She stated calmly as she looked at him with the ever present small smile that never escaped her lips. "Anything you know, ok?" She continued to say, turning herself fully so that now she had his full attention. "All I know is that there was a rumor about the midnight channel saying that if you stared into your T.V on a rainy night, at exactly midnight, you would see your soul mate." She said to him, maintaining intense eye contact with him as she said it. "After a while, 2 dead bodies appeared, one of Mayumi Yamano and the other, Saki Konishi. I didn't pay it any heed however, the owner of this store told me that a group of kids often came here and bought such medicinal items. Then it stopped. For a while. That is all I know." She concluded, breaking the eye contact and now focusing on the tea and the box of band-aids. "O.k, so the total for the Band Aids and the Tea comes to 5000 yen." She smiled at him, thinking about how the kid would react. Midori only told him the basics, nothing more, nothing less. If he was a man of his word, which she sincerely hoped he was, she had just gained an information source. That was a good thing. |

Yuchi didn't quite understand what sort of information this lady was talking about, but he figured it would become obvious at some point. She then continued to explain what exactly the Midnight Channel was. Soul Mate, Yuchi thought, frowning slightly. To him, it sounded ridicules, if not slightly upsetting, which he did his best not to show this. After all, long ago, it was on such rainy night that his parents were killed. The night where he was first sucked into the world inside the TV. Shoving the memory away, he listened intently as the woman continued. He wasn't at all surprised hearing about the two dead bodies. In fact, it didn't take him long to guess it was because of the Shadows of those people that they died. He wondered if this was something he should mention, yet at the same time, he worried that he might have to explain his assumption. Explain how he first encountered the Shadow of someone who was once his mother. If possible, he would do all in his power to block that memory out, yet he still considered it. After all, he did promise to help. He continued to listen silently, considering sharing this information, as the lady mentioned a "group of kids" that bought the healing items that Yuchi had previously asked about. He was starting to zone out in thought when she brought up the price for his items, and quickly snapped back to attention. "Huh? Oh, yeah." Yuchi paid for the tea and band aids, mumbling a quiet "thanks" in response. He then turned toward the door and started to walk out. Yet after a few steps he stopped. He glanced back, acting as if he had only forgotten something. "So uhm. . .Those people that were killed," he started, is voice low, trying to be discreet. "Yamano and Konishi. Maybe they were attacked by those monsters from inside the TV." He paused, his voice now somewhat sad. "The parts that a person tries to ignore, and sometimes push away. . .I mean, maybe they had something to do with it at least." He continued, his normal, positive tone returning. "Oh and, maybe we could find some of those kids that would come here and ask them what they know." He didn't know how helpful he may have been, but he hurried out of the store and began to walk back to his hotel room. He didn't realize that he left the tea and band aids on the counter. Midori took the kid's words into consideration, not letting her face betray any doubt or confusion. What the kid said made sense, at least to her, the part about the parts that they couldn't accept attacking them. However, she was surprised to hear how he thought they came from the t.v. Could that be true? And finding those kids might prove useful in gaining information. However, she would need to ask the owner for what they looked like, because she never had the pleasure of seeing them shopping in the store. As the kid walked out, she realized he'd left behind his goods. Picking them up immediately, she used her immense speed and ninja skills to swiftly follow him and stop right in front on him. Giving him a smile, she handed him the tea and Band Aids, all the while keeping up a pleasant smile. "Can't be forgetting those can we?" She asked rhetorically as she gave them back, before turning around to go back to the store. "I'll take what you said into consideration. Keep me updated on anything you find out, ok Yuchi-kun?" She asked as she made her way back to the store. It looked like this day turned into something that required time to think. However, right now she needed to tend to the store. [Exit Midori] |
