May 26th - 8:00 PM Strolling up the sidewalk calmly with his eyes half closed, Steven could be seen from a distance walking to Aiya for his grandmother had once again burnt dinner. He could still taste the blackened and Solid Mashed Potatoes fresh in his mouth as if he were still trying to get to the actual potato. How did you even manage to make Mashed Potatoes solid? The whole point of Mashing Potatoes was to make them malleable in texture like Pudding. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, Steven had slipped out of the house through his bedroom window once he was sure that she was asleep. A cold chill ran it's course down his spine at the touch of the wind whirring about his body but with the aid of his crimson hoodie he soon overcame the surprisingly rough winds. A light veil of fog tried to hinder his vision but he didn't need his vision to get there. The path was so familiar to him that he could get there blindfolded if he had to. He could almost taste Aiya's mouth watering food now. If only the fog hadn't rolled in. Perhaps that didn't make any sense. It was already a foggy day in Inaba but in the grand scheme of things it was more like a light veil of mist. The fog that had just rolled in however was thick, obscuring almost everything in his line of vision, a sickly shade of yellow, and held this ominous air about it as if it's presence would cause some horrible catastrophe to befall the little town. Squinting his chocolate brown eyes in an attempt to adjust his eyes, the youth managed to see a large black and white creature with two shadowy hands wrapped around it's body wearing a jester's cap make it's way for him. Unbeknownst to him this was a Wondrous Magus Shadow. If the creature existing wasn't enough to faze him then the shards of ice[Bufula], which the creature was currently assaulting him with, was enough to cause some panic at least. Okay what do I do? I'm a sitting duck trying to dodge all this. Summon me! You never told me how. Remember when you accepted your shadow? Your point? Focus on summoning the tarot card I gave you and when it comes into your hand crush it. If it he wasn't in a life and death situation at the moment the he would of gave Osiris a strange look if he could for it seemed like a strange method of forcing a creature out of your head. Blinking in surprise at the fact that it had actually worked, Steven stared at the blue tarot card, which gave off and unearthly glow, in his hand before he crushed it. The sound of glass shattering into millions of pieces reverberated through the air as a cool breeze swirled around himself making his hoodie flutter about. From seemingly out of nowhere, Osiris, in all of his Egyptianess, appeared in front of him with fists a blazing literally. Noticing more of the creatures forming out of the Shadows, Steven clenched a fist with Osiris mimicking the action. Both had a confident smirk painted upon their faces despite being out numbered. "He brought friends." Osiris stated calmly. "We should welcome them." Steven, charging into the fray, replied with a smile which seemed to extend from one ear to another. |

Suki~ The Innocent Adolescent / Aether~ The Barrier Persona
|
..blithely, to wander about so late - Sutekina, it is folly.. "Your rhyming makes my head hurt," Suki whined. Ever since Aether woke up inside him, he had been pestering the priestess whenever he felt like it. Or so Suki thought. He just wanted to explore Inaba a little! Sure, it was night, but he had Aether to protect him after all! So, ignoring the resigned groan and protests, he set off out of Chou's house and to the shopping district. Aether seemed to have given up - although Suki could see a faded vision of him floating beside him, frowning. Suki knew why - there seemed to be fog about! The same fog he got lost in when that mean creature scratched in, and that same fog he got lost in when he fought the catoblepas. And awakened Aether, who was actually rather naggy like his mummy.. ..Naggy?! Aether sounded indignant. I should have you know.. A breathy sound interrupted Suki's thoughts, and he looked around curiously. It was getting too foggy to see clearly, like the night he walked into a lamppost and awakened Aether. There were faint clinking sounds, as though someone was throwing sugar and candies. Candy? Suki quickly ran towards the sound. The fog parted, and to the little green-haired priest's great disappointment, the tinkling sound was not candy - rather, it was ice. There was also a boy! But he was not Naoki. Fire Puh-soah-nehs seemed to be quite the fasion - this boy's Puh-soah-neh had fire fists. He didn't interest Suki much though. Naoki's Puh-soah-neh was a long, flying, fire paper kite! This one was just a man with his hands on fire, which was boring. Suki, he requires assistance! Quickly! Aether said urgently. "He looks okay," Suki shrugged but skipped forward as a card appeared in his hand. It had an upside down man for some reason on it. Wouldn't he barf if he stayed like that? Closing the distance between him and the man until he was a few steps away, Suki slid a little but managed to swing gracefully and shatter a card that remained suspended in the air in his dancelike movement. Aether appeared, cloak billowing. "Mirror~♪!" Suki focused his energy as Aether did, and a twin points of bright light flew around the boy and his flamy-fisty Puh-soah-neh. It went inside them and they started glowing faintly. If Aether was correct, this should be enough to deflect one spell from those mean creatures.. |

If it wasn't for a singsong like cry of the word mirror then the lively youth would never of noticed the of points of rather bright light, and boy was it bright, go inside him and Osiris. The faint glowing obviously went unnoticed but the new arrival to the scene did not go unnoticed. Warm and playful chocolate orbs had to squint slightly as he twisted his head at an acute angle in order to see the boy whom he mistook for a girl for a split second and not loss his focus on the flow of battle. One slight distraction and he could dodge at the wrong time which could earn him a spike of ice to the back if not careful. But he did have to admit that the helpful youth was cute. The hair, reminiscent of emeralds in color, flowed long and gave an air of innocence about the boy. Why was he even spending so much time focusing on the cuteness and the apparent innocence of the new arrival? The only time he could remember such an innocence in his life was before the accident. He knew better than to judge a book by it's cover but even with that in mind the cute and innocent looking youth was classified and cute and innocent. "Thanks for the assist...whatever that did. The name's Steven Kaze by the way. You can call me Neko if you'd like." Steven, twisting his way between two shimmering shards of brutal ice with his fist reared back to punch the nearest Wondrous Magus in the face hard, greeted with glee. The Wondrous reared back a few feet much to the lively youth's surprise though it wasn't down for the count in the slightest. Staring slack-jawed at the surprising increase in his strength, the teenager wasn't prepared for the next shard of ice that came flying towards his chest. Time seemed to slow down as the ice neared his chest. To his surprise once more however the ice simply bounced off his chest as if his body were made of metal. He had no time to ponder the many questions that came to mind in his continued dance of dodging ice in a gradual attempt to reach his target. His movements were well timed and graceful looking as he twisted, bended, leaped, twirled, and basically did whatever was appropriate for the situation. Finally, with a well timed somersault, the youth landed a punch which resulted in the offending creature dissolving into Shadowy wisps. How are you doing? Better than you. Osiris, punching clean through the head of a Wondrous Magus which left only two more creatures, thought back in reply. |

Suki~ The Innocent Adolescent / Aether~ The Barrier Persona
|
The boy turned around and saw Suki - who was rather inclined to wave if Aether didn't tell him it would distract the boy from his battle. This time, Suki made Aether stay even though it consumed more energy - for one thing, Aether told him he had better regeneration (It meant he recovered faster, yay!) which meant both his health and energy recovered quickly! And for another, Aether's presence was very reassuring. There was also this thing about Aether that made him glow in the dark like a night-lamp, which was nice because he really didn't like the dark. It felt like stuff like catoblepas would come out and attack him while it was night. So Aether stayed, with a grave look upon his face while Suki recovered easily the energy spent on that..uhm..Macurry something spell. ..Just call it mirror, Aether sighed. Suki knew Aether didn't like it when he went wandering about - but, really, he was lonely. He tended to the shrines in the morning, but after that he didn't have to since no one ever visited the shrines here. Well, not no one but very little. Chou was busy a lot these days. He wanted to make new friends! No one seemed to want to be with him, be it friends or more than that. He never realized before he met Chou - but being alone felt terrible. He wanted to surround himself with people and happiness..conflict was terrible. He hated fighting. Aether said he didn't con-dom it.. Condone. Condone, Suki. Condone. Aether sounded alarmed for some reason. ..condone it either, but he had soon agreed that he had to use Aether's powers to help people. Even though it meant promoting violence, it meant promoting violence against evil creatures! That was more okay than people, at least. Especially when those evil creatures were zombies! Aether said they went for peoples' braiiins.. Minds, Suki. ..minds! Like magic zombies, then. "I'm Suki!" he announced happily, watching with a bright smile as (Cat? Suki giggled. He loved cats! Like the cat family he was taking care of in the flood plains, he befriended every cat he saw.) Neko fought alongside his fire-fisty Puh-soah-neh.. Persona, Suki. ..Persona and destroyed several of the zombies. Suki watched with great interest - fire used to be scary, but even though he was always so close to it now and never burnt him, he wasn't scared of it anymore. There was little he could do right now, so Suki stood aside out of Neko's way and watched the pair fight. |

The battle proceeded for a while longer with a typical pattern. Dodge, dodge, dodge, punch and repeat. Despite the predictability of the fight, Steven still seemed to be enthralled by the battle. Too bad the fight was rather short lived for his tastes. Osiris had already punched clean through another Shadow leaving only one left for the fun loving youth to fight with. Seeing that he could handle the last one by himself, Steven let Osiris return to his mind. Through the sickly yellow fog flashes of blue could sometimes be seen as the lively youth danced around shards of ice. It was quite a dangerous dance for one wrong step could earn himself an injury. Yet despite the danger behind it, the youth was purposely stalling in order to make the fight last longer. He pulled his punches in order to get in more hits, he purposely dodged in ways that would make him backtrack his steps, and sometimes he would miss on purpose. All of these methods were utilized to make the Euphoria derived from the fight last longer. In his obsession over the thrill he received, Steven failed to time a dodge right and ended up with an icicle stuck in his arm. Be careful! If your Grandmother sees this then she'll have a fit. Right. Gotta finish this. Wincing at the pain that rattled his arm up and down, Steven focused his attention away from his wound. There was no time to check just how bad it was and he wasn't about to check. Increasing his pace, Steven closed the distance once more with left fist, seeing as he had just injured his right arm, reared back. Striking with full force, Steven watched with a joy filled smile as the creature dissolved into Shadowy wisps. Ripping off the right sleeve of the now torn jacket, Steven took a glance at his arm to see how bad it actually was. Boy was it bad. Four inches of ice could be seen sticking straight out of his arm. Crimson pools of blood seeped out of the wound and ran their course down his arm before ending in slow agonizing drops of blood splattering with the ground. Despite of himself Steven had to admit that it was a grotesquely beautiful sight. The light shimmered and bounced around a crystalline terrain creating a shining gleam tinged with crimson due to the blood drawn. Taking a deep breath, the injured youth griped the large shard of ice with his left hand and pulled with all of his might which revealed three more inches of ice that had been lodged within his arm. Casting the bloodied shard of ice away to his left, Steven watched the blood redirect it's course to slide down to his hands. I would of thought that ice would of melted by now. That ice be magical. "Suki? You wouldn't happen to have any bandages on you would you?" Steven, holding his injured arm with his left hand, inquired as he turned to face the innocent looking boy. |

Suki~ The Innocent Adolescent / Aether~ The Barrier Persona
|
These creatures weren't very strong. They were nothing like the catoblepas, which had stabbed him in his chest with that big, big horn of his. Suki thought back at the time - he hadn't had time to move, and either way it was really fast and really big. It was so big it was bigger than an ice cream truck on its hind legs! Anyway, it pierced where his heart was before getting thrown far, far away. Because of Aether! It was very tiring though, Aether using that spell took his energy away. It was a good thing he healed fast! It was a bad thing the same couldn't be said for Neko. Gasping when an ice pop got stuck in Neko's arm, he jumped forward as Aether spoke. He was unnecessarily extending the fight, he said disparagingly. So it meant he was asking for it. Oh, Aether! Don't be mean! Why would someone want to fight more? Ask not me, ask him. Wondering why Neko spoiled his spoiled jacket even more spoiled than spoiled before instead of just taking it off to make it less spoiled, Suki watched as the big ice pop was wrenched out and tossed away. That was too bad, he was hoping he could make it into a necklace..but then again it would melt, wouldn't it? Giggling when Neko suggested bandages of all things, Suki grabbed Neko and pulled him down to sit. His mother had taught him how to deal with wounds and stuffies like this - this was like when glass got stuck in this guy's leg! Pull the cause out despite complaints, lest the flesh mortify and taint. He wasn't sure what that meant when his mother recited that odd piece, but he only knew he had to get it out. Carefully settling his white robe-dress-thingy so it wouldn't crease, pulled his sleeves up and inspected Neko's arm, wondering how he was going to get out the ice pop without something like a pair of pincers, he listened to Aether for a while before placing Neko's arm on his lap. Spinning out a card and carefully breaking it, he watched as Aether appeared for a brief moment before disappearing. It was as though Aether took control of him, he felt his arms moving on their own, hand above the wound as wisps of light seemed to encircle the area and within the boy's arm. As the injury sealed over neatly as though done by a surgeon's needle, the ice was slowly squeezed out until Suki felt himself snatching it and taking it out just as the area healed completely, leaving the skin light pink. Suki studied the ice he had between his fingers for a while before shrugging and throwing it away. It was too much trouble to make a necklace, he had to drill a hole and thread.. "Aether said you wanted to fight more," Suki said curiously as he got up as though this happened everyday. Which, now, it probably would. "Really~?" |
