May 22nd 12:00 p.m. The streets in the Central Shopping District were mildly busy, with small crowds of people walking in and out through the shops at a time as the day seemed to carry on without incident. No one seemed to specifically notice the girl clad in a white hoodie and black baggy shorts, a gray furred dog sitting next to her as she stood at the sidelines, her pulled up hood hiding a portion of her face. This is. . .Inaba? she wondered, glancing down at the dog beside her, which returned her gaze with a panting smile. "What do we do now, Kiba?" she asked her canine friend. In response, he uttered a sound between a growl and a whine. "Mrrraoww." After such a response, the dog stood up and stretched, then looked in a certain direction, its ears perked up. The girl followed it gaze toward the Souzai Daigaku, assuming Kiba was trying to tell her something. As she did, she saw that sitting there on the table outside was a plate of Grilled Steak Croquette freshly made. The person who had ordered it had stepped to the side to take a call from their cell phone, leaving the plate unguarded. As Kiba looked up at the girl expectantly, she nodded, as if upon agreement. Then the two of them subtly made their way over to the Souzai Daigaku stand. Once the were next to the table, the girl glanced over at the person who was on their phone and saw that they were properly distracted. Then a second later, the girl had swiped the plate off the table and she and the dog sprinted up the street. "Hm, what the-HEY!!!" was the unfortunate diners reaction. Neither the girl nor Kiba had looked back to see if they were being chased however. They ran until they reached the Tatsuhime Shrine nearby, stopping at the base of a tree, then the girl plopped down on the ground, the plate now resting on her lap. She handed a piece of the croquette to Kiba, who took it into his mouth and proceeded to chew it down. Picking up another piece, the girl took a bite as well, vaguely wondering if the shrine was a suitable hiding place. After all, she only ran so far from where she stole the food. |

It was strange. It seemed that as the girl was mentally questioning the woman, the woman was doing the same about the girl, especially after the sight of her hair. Was it really that strange? Frankly, he girl wondered why the woman's was pink. The girls thoughts, and apparently that of the woman's, were interrupted by a sudden ringing. The girl also heard a quick but quiet thud beneath the table. Blinking as she glanced down, it seemed the sudden ringing made Kiba jump a little, his head likely bumping into the table he was now hiding under. The girl returned her gaze to the woman as she answered the phone, her head tilting in slight curiosity as she appeared to be speaking to someone they called "mother" as well as "mom". The girl heard either of those names somewhat often when she passed by people in their conversations. Sitting here and observing the conversation, she wondered perhaps for the first time who that name referred to. The ramen was served before them as the woman's conversation continued, who suddenly seemed to try and end their conversation, saying she was sitting down to lunch with a friend. A moment later, the woman seemed panicked and looked at the girl once more, who blinked in response. As the woman finally hung up the phone, she threw it down onto the table, apparently irritated. Did all calls with this "mother" person end this way? Upon calming herself down, the women apologized for the interruption, suggesting that they eat. The woman also asked the girl to talk about herself. The girl froze on this as she started eating the ramen. What about herself, she wondered. She couldn't think of much off the top of her head, for it was really the first time someone wanted to know anything about her. The girl mulled this over quietly as she finished about half of the ramen in her bowl, then picked it up and placed it under the table for Kiba to finish, not wanting him to go hungry either. Then, facing the woman once more, she finally attempted to speak about herself, her voice somewhat quiet at first. "Ren," she started. "My name's. . .Ren. . ." She glanced down toward Kiba, who was sniffing the contents of the ramen bowl before eating it. "He's Kiba." [ OOC: Glad yer feeling better, Ai! ]

Both Aiella and the girl started to eat their meal slowly. They ate in relative silence, and Aiella let it be so - she didn't want to pressure the girl into talking or sharing anything about herself that she didn't want to. Halfway through their meal, the girl lifted her bowl up and downward under the table to feed the rest to her companion. She came back up, and to Aiella, it seemed like she was struggling to find her words. "Ren," she started. "My names... Ren..." she glanced downwards at her canine friend. "He's Kiba." Aiella smiled softly, and finished her mouthful of ramen. "I'm Aiella. Or just.. Aie, if you like." she took another mouthful of her meal, and swallowed quickly, wanting to keep the flow of the conversation going. "Did you like the ramen? Have you had it before? You can have another if you like." "Why... why are you doing this, Aie?" she wondered to herself. She could afford the food no problem - she wasn't worried about that at all. "She obviously has no-where to go... I'm pretty sure no-one else has noticed her. I'm pretty sure no-one else cares." That's something Aiella could understand, if it was the case. She felt.. uneasy about her actions, seeking out contact with other people wasn't something that she readily did, or slip into easily. So why did talking to Ren come so easily to her? "Maybe.. I just care. But can you care for a complete stranger?" Confused. Aiella was confused. At the continued risk of showing any uneasy feelings, and making Ren feel uncomfortable, she put her thoughts to the side and ordered a couple of drinks. The woman smiled softly after Ren told her her name. "I'm Aiella. Or just.. Aie, if you like." The woman said. Aie, Ren mentally repeated the name so she could commit it to memory. Aie then asked her if she liked the ramen, and if she had it before, as well as offering to give her more. Ren blinked in surprise, her guarded expression now of slight confusion. She truly didn't know what to make of Aie. Why was she being so friendly, to her especially? "Uh. . .y-yeah, it was good. I've never had it before." She hesitated a moment as she considered Aie's offer. "Can I have some more?" Ren wasn't hardly at all used to asking things from people, so her own voice asking for more ramen sounded foreign to her. It didn't feel. . .bad, she guessed though. In fact, she decided to ask questions of her own. "Is the person you were talking to, the same person as yesterday? Who was it?" She paused a moment in thought, pulling out the post-it note she found on the pillar yesterday. "And did you. . .write this?" It had just occurred to Ren that perhaps it was Aiella that wanted to meet with her and Kiba, but if that was so, then- "Why?" She asked. Edited by Ren, May 28 2012, 01:08 PM.

"Uh... Y-yeah it was good. I've never has it before." Ren replied. She seemed to pause for a moment, to contemplate what she was going to say next. Or maybe it was hesitation? Aiella wasn't quite sure. "Can I have some more?" Aiella went to confirm her offer, but the girl seemed the quickly whirl in a turret of questions. "Is the person you were talking to, the same person as yesterday? Who was it?" she paused again, and Aiella stayed quiet as Ren rummaged through her pockets "And... did you write this?" There was a brief moment of silence, and then a quizzical expression crossed over Rens face. "Why?" Aiella smiled gently. Their drinks where brought to them, and she ordered another bowl of ramen for Ren. She raised her drink to her lips, and took a small mouthful before continuing on with their conversation. "Yes.. it was. That was my mother. She seems to like calling around this time of the day. I don't do anything around lunchtime, you see." She smiled a little, but sadly. After a moment, she took the post-it note from Ren, and neatly stuck it onto the table. "And yes, this note is from me. I figured you would like something bigger, and better to eat." She looked over to Ren - her eyes previously downcast - and still saw her wearing a slight quizzical expression. "I don't really mind what you ask, so don't worry okay?" as she finished her sentance, Rens ramen was ready, and set down onto the table. |

Ren was even more confused now. Aie wanted to meet her just. . .for the purpose of giving her something to eat? Why? I don't. . . understand, she thought, staring down at the post-it note. Ren was a stranger. So why would it matter to Aie? It didn't make sense to her. Aie then told Ren that she didn't mind what she asked of her. So Ren thought about other questions she had as she started eating her second bowl of ramen. She had to admit, it was by far one of the best things she'd ever tasted. After finishing, she stared down at the empty bowl a moment, before looking back up at Aiella, only one question in her mind, which she worded somewhat clumsily. "Why are you doing this for me? Everyone else always pretends I'm not there, or pushes me away because I steal from them. People hate me. Some even think me and Kiba might will make them sick. So why, even after I steal from you. . .why are you being nice to me? You're not making any sense." Ren wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel at this point. She'd never confided in another human being before. She talked to Kiba plenty, but somehow, it didn't feel the same as now. She wondered why. |

Ren ate in relative silence when her bowl has arrived. The pair didn't exchange any words during this time. Both Aiella and Ren stayed quiet, Aiella out of courtesy and Ren - Aiella thought - partly out because she was deep in thought, and the other because of her meal. Aiella sipped her drink silently as Ren ate her ramen, and when she had finished, she stared down into the bowl for a moment. "Why are you doing this for me? Everyone else always pretends I'm not there, or pushes me away because I steal from them. People hate me. Some even think me and Kiba might will make them sick. So why, even after I steal from you. . .why are you being nice to me? You're not making any sense." Aiella slowly took a breath in, and relaxed. "Well..." Aiella found herself explaining to the girl that she knew how it felt to feel invisible, to feel like people didn't know you existed or that they didn't care. She also went on to explain how she understood how bad a person can feel when you know people are purposely avoiding you. As she spoke all of this, she did so quietly and carefully and made sure that her wording did not put the wrong idea in her head. "So you see? Even though my problems stemmed from how people treated me in school, I can still relate and empathise with you. Whatever the context Ren, it isn't a pleasant thing to continually go through." She paused for a moment, giving time for her words to wash over the silver haired girl in front of her. "It doesn't take a genius to figure out how the locals here would treat you. I might not be able to do a lot, but I can at least reach out to you if you need someone to talk to." "As for stealing from me? It's not a big deal. I know you wouldn't steal if you didn't need to." Aiella rested her head upon the palm of her hand, and smiled softly at Ren. She hoped that her insight on the matter wouldn't scare Ren away or make her wary of her, but still, she suspected and worried that maybe she had said a little more then she should of. |

Aiella explained to Ren that she had gone through similar treatment from people in her life as well, and was therefore able to understand how bad it must have felt to be in that position. Ren contemplated over this. It seemed that it was because Aiella felt the same hurt as Ren, even if it was in a different context, that it made her want to help. However, Ren found herself wondering if she would have done the same for Aiella. Were people who understood one another always so willing to go out of their way for them? "It doesn't take a genius to figure out how the locals here would treat you. I might not be able to do a lot, but I can at least reach out to you if you need someone to talk to." So I can. . .talk with her like this whenever? Ren wondered. Regardless of all else, the she felt as if she looked forward to it. She brought her gaze back to Aie as she continued. "As for stealing from me? It's not a big deal. I know you wouldn't steal if you didn't need to." As she said that, Aie rested her head on the palm of her hands and smiled once more, and perhaps for the first time, Ren felt somewhat at ease at the sight instead of suspicious. Maybe she wasn't plotting person that Ren initially made her out to be after all. With a quick nod, Ren stood from the seat. "I guess I should be going now," she started, then shyly glanced downward. ". . .Thank you for the meal, I'll talk to you later then, right, Aiella?" She then turned toward the exit, patting the side of her leg. Kiba crawled out from under the table and followed her as they made their way out of the diner, back onto the street outside. As Ren made a turn down the street, Kiba stopped for a minute in the doorway, glancing back at Aiella, its canine face showing what could almost be described as an expression of appreciation, then hurried off to follow Ren. Aiella relaxed as she saw the girl ease up a little. Now she knew everything was okay. Ren gave a quick nod in her direction, and then stood up form her seat. "I guess I should be going now," the silver-haired girl started, glancing somewhat shyly down to the floor. Aiella's smile broadened as the word 'cute' crossed her mind. ". . .Thank you for the meal, I'll talk to you later then, right, Aiella?" Aiella nodded in reply, something that the girl perhaps didn't noticed, as she had already turned towards the exit, patting the side of the leg as a sign for Kiba to follow her. They left, and Aie quickly dived under the table for the lost bowl of Ramen before the server came back to collect the dishes. After collecting her bags and paying for the food, she left Aiya and walked home, wondering when she would next see Ren and Kiba. [EXIT AIELLA] |
