Stella's Campaign works to spin the events of the riot with the use of a fall guy. This wasn't posted sooner due to the boards being offline that day so including this script now. . Stella | Haden . Candidate for Mayor Room Admin | MC-1 | PoD - [ The White Tower : Stella Haden's Apartment ] -Currently somewhere within Stella Haden's luxury apartment located in the upper levels of the ultra exclusive White Tower.- says to ALL: -Hours after The Incident at the Camp.- -As soon as the limo pulled away from the curb outside the displaced persons camp, intended to be one of many stops scheduled for her campaign that day, Stella’s advisors immediately went into high gear organizing a response that would denounce the violence while also working angles to pin the blame on anyone and everyone but their candidate. It was imperative she be distanced from the scandal but also the crime of inciting a riot which it appears now the Judge who accosted her was preparing to sentence her for. Stella was in good hands she knew but as she watched Edith and the others get on their phones she couldn’t help but feel irritated that one of the first calls went directly to her father, and turning away from the frantic display of her worker bees put into action she looked out the window in silent contemplation of the fact she was not so independent, or powerful. Not yet anyways.- -Present- -Seated in her upscale apartment looking out over the magnificent northern skyline of Mega-City One, it was easy to forget that days earlier she had been on street level walking among the poor and the homeless wallowing in depressing and unsanitary conditions. Indeed, the crisp white pant suit Stella wore while watching the newsvid projected on the impressively large window of her pristine abode further highlighted her desire to distance herself from the events of the previous day. However, she was forced to reckon with the fall out as the news program “Who’s To Blame?”, a deeply unapologetically biased program posed that very question with regard to the situation in the camp. A situation now clouded in some obscurity as none of the news media present at the camp came away with any real footage of the riot that day. A curious detail to be sure but undeterred the host, Melissa Shelly, still sought answers, digging to find the truth of who was to blame, and she promised her viewers today that Mox Network had the scoop. Anxiously, Stella would watch, uncertain if she could trust that her campaign, in collaboration with her father, had actually managed to spin this well enough that she’d be kept out of the Iso-Cubes.- . Stella | Haden . Candidate for Mayor Room Admin | MC-1 | PoD - [ The White Tower : Stella Haden's Apartment ] -Currently somewhere within Stella Haden's luxury apartment located in the upper levels of the ultra exclusive White Tower.- says to ALL: -After looking directly into the camera as though staring into the very souls of the hardcore legion of fans and viewers tuning in, Melissa Shelly would soon turn in her anchor chair causing the camera to pan and follow her as the shot widened to reveal a guest joining her at the news desk. A young man in a charcoal suit with heavy black-rimmed glasses and slightly tussled, brown hair, sat nervously in contrast to the highly polished blond anchorwoman who now introduced her guest. He wasn’t just a guest or commentator though, no, here before Ms. Shelly and the millions of viewers watching was the man determined to take all the blame.- -Stella didn’t know Clark Allen before today, had never set eyes on him, and if she had passed him in the halls of Hexia or somewhere on the street, he was so unremarkable that he’d be easy to forget, yet it was astonishing to watch as this minor underling in her father’s vast conglomerate took the blame while he turned to the camera and explained that it was he, in his loyal over zealousness, that had organized the Hexia Corp. fly over which had incited the riot. He did this, he explained with solid conviction, without the knowledge or consent of his immediate boss and employer, or the candidate affected by his dreadful mistake. Melissa Shelly, however, was rather cynical of this explosive admission of guilt and smirking dryly to her audience behind the camera broadcasting this interview, mirroring perhaps the many expressions of those watching at that very moment she proceeded to question why Mr. Allen would do such a thing. Why would he risk his career on such a risky gamble?- -The young man would then begin to crack, his voice shaking as he looked down briefly to explain he hoped that it would result in a long coveted promotion for him. A long silence followed that statement, and in that moment of dead air Ms. Shelly poured all her quiet judgement upon Mr. Allen who upon feeling her critical eye of judgement and disapproval upon him, went on to defend himself and his decision by explaining the reasoning behind his decision. His family was having a hard time making ends meet, he went on, and if he scored a great coup in helping the daughter of the head honcho of Hexia, well, it was easy to see what he hoped would be the end result.- . Stella | Haden . Candidate for Mayor Room Admin | MC-1 | PoD - [ The White Tower : Stella Haden's Apartment ] -Currently somewhere within Stella Haden's luxury apartment located in the upper levels of the ultra exclusive White Tower.- says to ALL: -Melissa Shelly was not a hard woman, under her cool façade of professionalism and truth seeking, she had a warm heart and for a moment she sympathized with Mr. Allen who started to look up with relief now etched on his features. However, just when he seemed at ease with having validated his decision Ms. Shelly slammed back with some cold, hard pragmatism as she turned to her viewers to state that this was “Who’s To Blame?” not an episode of Sob Story, one of MC-1’s favourite gamevids where contestants won Credits by exposing their sad tales of woe. After which she launched into a scathing condemnation of Allen for not only dragging his family into this, but for also using the plight of those unfortunate souls in that camp for professional gain. Shortly thereafter, it was revealed that the Hall of Justice had been contacted so that Mr. Allen would face the full brunt of the law for what he did which naturally put the poor man in quite a frenzy.- -Stella, having taken all this in, could only frown as she found herself on the edge of a cringe with witnessing what was actually quite a gut wrenching scene. Even if it meant damage would be directed from her Stella could not say in that precise moment she was at peace with what was happening. She felt a little sick at this little bit of political theatre being played out on a live feed, but as she observed Mr. Allen proceed to pull out a gun from his jacket pocket all she was feeling in that moment fled her immediately, replaced by one overwhelming wave of horror and dread as she and millions of viewers tuned in could only look on helplessly as he raised the gun……..and pressed it to his own temple.- -Looking away at the last second Stella would hear the blast of the gun and soon the sound of Ms. Shelly and others reacting in sensationalist fashion to what just occurred. Turning away from the chaotic scene playing out across the massive projection screen, Stella sharply commanded, “Terminate Connection.” Which immediately cut the news feed, causing the projection to fade leaving the city-scape beyond once again, and exhaling calmly Stella reached for the glass of ultra purified water she had left nearby.- [ended due to rt] |
