So, in just the first few days, I've noticed that most people tend to gravitate towards being Us. I want a more balanced Us vs Them theme, so I was thinking about adding a benefit for Them to encourage recruitment on their side. The only thing that comes to mind is a free trait upon start up. Anyone else have ideas? |

That would actually make a lot of sense since Them would put their recruits through training while the side of Us is a much larger, more self taught category. I like that idea

I agree, that would make a lot of sense Question: If someone from Us switched/was reqruited to Them, would that extra trait be added then as well, kind of like a gift? Just a thought. Would that make sense? Lol, not sure o.o |

I know exactly what you are talking about *Laughs evilly* But I don't think so as it wouldn't really make sense as they didn't start out on the side of Them, which actually makes sense for having the extra trait. Though I wish i thought differently as I want your RPC to be rp'ed that way <.< |

It was my character that made me think of it, but it wasn't specifically for her. It just brought up a good question in my mind, Lol. but I was kinda thinking along the lines of, like, if someone got recruited, they could be put into training kind of thing. And that could be what allows them that extra trait. Possibly, Them could have someone else that has the same/similar power as them and teaches them an extra trait. It is kind of complicated when I think about it more, I can't really explain it, Bahaha! xP But yeah, I know what you mean, so that is why I was unsure if it would make sense

Generally agreed with what's been stated above. Starting as 'them' nets you a free trait on creation [if you want it, you can always opt out/write into your background some reason why you don't have it], but transferring over or starting as 'us' does not. That's as far as I'm willing to go though, because any more seems unnecessary. On this topic, monthly traits can't be saved, right? |

What Yuki said. Those who start as Them get a free trait at creation if they want; transferring over does not. Being a part of Them implies you've been training for a while. Switching over to Them from Us results in the same level of training as an Us member training himself. The reason is that while you can enforce a training regimen, you can't FORCE someone to improve. And I imagine if any real person suddenly got a super power, they'd probably find themselves practicing just as hard. So, consensus is that an additional trait upon start up for Them is ok? As for Yuki's question-there's no official system for saving traits, but I suppose you could request that you get an open slot added instead of the actual Trait. That being said, there's no real reason to hold off on your traits unless you just can't think of anything that whole month. |

So does this mean Seid gets a trait now ^.^ Or are we implementing it as a new rule now? I'm fine either way

I'll let you get a new trait right off the bat. You're the only one, and this is brand new. These first few weeks, I won't be very restrictive when it comes to updates and how they affect characters. |

Should we sticky this/add it to the rules? So that any new people can see the bonus they get for joining Them? I remember I had to tell Hito or else he wouldn't have known. |

I put it in several places in the templates for people to see. I don't know how Hito missed it, honestly. I can try putting it in other places, but it already exists in every location that makes sense. |
