Seid found himself back in his apartment, and he was glad his partner wasn't around. He didn't want to have to explain himself, all he needed was some time alone. He flopped onto a chair in the living room, exhausted by his previous mission and ordeal, but it wasn't his physical body that needed rest, it was his mind. Something he had sacrificed for the sake of the mission, to be a good agent, but it had long reaching consequences and now he didn't know who, or what he was.
Training Post As he sat Seid let his mind wander, it expanded outwards and outwards from his body as he usually did when sensing for someone with a special ability. He felt a familiar jolt on his radar as someone in the room next to him was some sort of metahuman. It wasn't all that odd for him to sense one here, for some reason metahumans seemed to congregate here, that is after all why he had decided to move in.
What caught Seid off guard was when his mind seemed to continue to expand until he felt not just that one metahuman, but three all throughout the building. He had never been able to feel this before but even as he reached even further, to push the limits of this strange phenomenon his mind snapped back, limiting him to the all familiar radius and limitations of his power.
Seid was glad for the distraction of this game and wouldn't let it go, the continued growth of his power fascinated him and so he pushed again with his mind. He could feel it roll over those not blessed with the metahuman power and it expanded to be a slight bit further than his usual reach. He could still only feel that one metahuman but he knew he was close to something, something that would make him even more useful to Them, even if his mind was becoming an unsafe place to wander in.

Training Post Seid was now so focused on his new ability that he seemed to have forgotten his earlier plight, the fact that he didn't know who he had become. Instead he now squatted with his back against his bed, focusing his mind hoping that he could reach even further than he had before. However, he seemed to be stuck just sensing that one metahuman in the room beside him, no matter how hard he tried.
Seid focused again, throwing his mind from his body, that sensation of search, a desperate plea for him to be better than what he previously was. His lack of reach seemed to mock him, and that just made him... not angry, but tired, tired of failing and tired of not being the agent he was supposed to be. It was easier being what he had always known himself to be. What he had been raised to be. But then just as he almost gave up, something new happened.
It seemed to blossom inside him, the metahuman in the room beside him didn't know it but something had changed, they had been discovered, fully and truly, and discovery often meant danger in there world. Seid hadn't pushed his mind further like he had earlier but now he could sense this persons full ability, like what he could vaguely sense when touching someone. They had the gift of lie detection, a weak version at that, but that wasn't the point.
The amazing thing was, Seid could sense exactly what their power was. Without any form of physical contact.

Training Post Seid couldn't believe his discovery he could now fully sense a persons power. But even as he congratulated himself his power returned to normal, the lie detectors powers no longer able to be viewed. But Seid had felt their ability, and the memory of that was enough to fuel his attempts to fully control his ability and this new development.
He tried relaxing his mind, as he normally did when using his power, and merely let it uncoil and reach outwards. His mind probed the borders of his range, and expanded outwards until he sensed not one, not two but three metahumans throughout the building. But even then his mind didn't stop it expanded outwards until he sensed a total of five metahumans nearby.
As he sensed them something seemed to click within his mind and when he focused on the metahuman next to him he sensed that they had a weak lie detection skill. He then looked at the the next closest metahuman and discovered that they had the ability to manipulate light. He laughed as he felt each person and a joy he hadn't felt since before his mission, or maybe even further back than that, entered sang through his veins. He was ready to face the world.

Training Post Seid stopped laughing as he realized he was being slightly crazy, but he couldn't help it. He had always defined himself by his power and now that power was getting stronger, just as Conrad said it would if he applied himself. It seemed the old man was right. He was no where near the mans power but perhaps now he wouldn't be such a small speck on his radar.
Seid focused and kept his mind open now, seeing how long it would take before this expansion on his detection merely became natural. He could feel it happening, the slow settling of his mind getting used to this new trait, but he wanted it now, his expanded power to be truly a part of him. So he didn't just wait, he tested it.
Seid felt the five metahumans on his radar and skipped over the two he had already discovered their full abilities. He went to the third and was shocked to discover a mind reader lived on the first floor of the building, something he should keep in mind. A metahuman in the parking lot had the power to manipulated water. Finally the last one... but just as he reached to discover their gift they wandered beyond his new found range.
He realized that the new extend of his power could now reach to an approximate distance of three miles, while before it was mere feet away. As he made this discovery he felt the last few pieces of his new power settle into place within his mind. Before he could congratulate himself on this, he fell asleep. He lost himself in the dreams of a man who didn't know who he was.

When Seid woke up he was determined to further expand upon his powers. It was an easy escape for him, something to get his mind away from well... his mind. So he exited his apartment and began knocking on the door next to his, the home of a lie detector.
