Training Post Seid waited until the door was answered by a pretty young woman. She took one glance at him and walked back the direction she had came. This wasn't the answer he had been expected when he knocked on her door, but regardless he follower in behind her, closing the door behind him. He was surprised to find the room barren, for someone he had sensed to be here for so long he had expected the apartment to be lived in.
Seid was instantly on his guard and focused on his own power signature and the opposing girl, trying out something Conrad had once described to him. It was time to put his true knowledge of powers, abilities, and methaumans to the test. Unfortunately there was something he needed to discover first, and perhaps in the process, test himself.
"Who are you? Who do you work for?" he asked, needing an answer, and steeling his power signature in an attempt to block the lie detector from using their powers against him when he spoke.

Training Post "That's two questions," the girl replied quietly, too quietly, "My name's Soley, not that it will do you any good. I'll be replaced once it's realized that I've been discovered."
Seid's head spun, he didn't know what the girl was talking about. Or maybe he did? A sinking feeling entered the pit of his stomach as he spoke again, hoping his attempt blocking her power was working, "Do you... Work for Them?"
Soley laughed, "Of course. I was sent to monitor you, you aren't as useful as you once were, your position as an asset is being... assessed. Perhaps you should let me ask the questions so at least I'll have something useful to take back to them."
Before he could speak again she continued, clearly wishing to filter information out of him, "You've been feeling strange ever since you're last mission, haven't you?"
Seid steeled himself, this was the moment of truth, this was something he had to conceal, "No, not strange at all," the lie flew off his tongue, as strong and clear as his focus on both their power signatures.

Training Post The girl chuckled, "Come on Seid, you'll have to do better than that. Did you forget my ability after all? Of course we both knew that was a lie before you spoke."
Seid frowned, suddenly unsure of himself. Conrad had told him this ability would be unconscious and wouldn't take the focus he was placing into it, but even when focusing it seemed that it didn't phase Soley's ability whatsoever. Unless... He saw something. Perhaps his need to see it was playing tricks upon his already fragmented mind, but he thought he saw a small hint of consternation on her face, for a fraction of a second.
"Perhaps we should try this again, Seid. Truth or dare?" Soley asked rhetorically with a roll of her eyes, "Has your brain recovered from the seal placed upon your mind for the sake of the mission? Are you having... doubts?"
It was clear that he could only pick truth but just as Seid was deciding pitting his trait training against this girl wasn't a good idea he felt a hand on each of his soldiers. Behind him were two men in dark suits, teleporter's from what he sensed of them, not that they could be anything else from their entrance. It seemed he was going to have to learn this new trait quickly, or They were going to take him in.

Training Post Seid searched his mind for everything he knew about lie detection. He wasn't going to let this girls mild power trump him, he had to win, had to succeed. So he focused once again on both their power signatures, shielding his from hers, trying to exploit her signatures weakness. He didn't know if it was working, but he couldn't reply until he had a decent shot at stopping her.
Finally he spoke when he felt he had the concentration to pull it off, his neck was bulging form the stress of his focus, "Yes. I've recovered and I'd be insulted at your insinuations if I didn't know it was for the best of the organization. However when you make your report please remind your superiors of how much I have offered and sacrificed for them, loyalty like that cannot be destroyed so easily."
As he spoke the words, and a look of confusion crossed Soley's face, Seid realized that most of his words were true. He was still loyal to Them, he just didn't know how effective he was anymore, or if their methods were always correct. But even as he finished thinking this, glad that this confrontation had caused him to learn a bit more about his new self, he heard something being said.
"Take him."

Training As Seid heard those words he focused again, hoping his power would stop him from being teleported. With no such luck he found himself falling, face first, into a hard concrete floor. He moaned in pain as his head cracked against the hard surface. He could feel his forehead swelling and felt blood trickling down onto the ground. He tried to set his mind in order, to prepare for whatever was about to happen to him, but the world tilted around him as disorientation set in fro his head injury.
A few moments later he realized he wouldn't have time to recover as a pair of rough hands hauled him up from the floor. He was shoved into a chair and saw that the teleporters had arrived with the lie detector in tow. He didn't know where he was, but as he sensed familiar power signatures nearby he knew that he was still in the apartment building somewhere.
It seemed Soley's good cop role was over as she snarled at him, "Now you're going to tell me exactly what's been going on in your head since you finished the mission. This is our time to get in good with the commander, and you aren't going to screw this up for us. Your time is over, its our turn now."
Seid was beyond hoping his powers would work, he realized he had far more important things to worry about, such as getting out of this situation alive.

Training Seid looked up at Soley with a calm expression on his face, but his insides were turmoil. He knew that the commander wouldn't be forgiving for him hiding something that could potentially harm Them. But he couldn't help it, he couldn't afford to be questioned right now. Of course that was just what was happening, and it was all his fault. Curiosity killed the cat after all.
"I... I... I don't know what you're talking about. Sure I've had some doubts, we all have, but I don't let it interfere with the job."
When he spoke it was like the words were someone elses, he had disassociated himself from the conversation. Maybe that was what saved him, or perhaps his trait had finally decided to passively kick in. The next thing he knew, however, was a look of fury began to overtake Soley's face and her to teleporting thugs began to hit him. It was then when a third man appeared on the scene.
"So this is what you have to show me Soley?" the man asked quietly.
Soley whipped around, a look of shock and horror overtaking her face, "N-No sir! W-We just needed to get him to talk."
After saying that she made a break for it, and it was all over in seconds. The new teleporter appeared behind the other two goons and merely touched them and they disappeared. He then ran up to Soley with lightning speed and smacked her, hard across the face. As she spun away from him she too disappeared. Seid's savior then turned back to him and grabbed his shoulder lightly.
"Come on, lets get you home."
That's when the world went black, and Seid's memory went blank.

Training As they arrived back in front of Seid's house, he wondered who this man was. But he knew inquiring about identities was never a good move in his line of work. So he kept his mouth shut, his doubt hadn't yet made him completely lose his mind after all. He waited to open his door until the man left, as all who work within their organization did, quickly and quietly.
But just as he crossed the threshold of his door Seid felt something, a probing into his mind, just as he sensed a telepath nearby. It seemed that he had let himself forget himself as he got caught up in his immediate surroundings. He could hardly blame himself as he was in a life threatening situation, but he was an gent of Them, and he should always be aware. So he closed his door as if nothing had happened and continued on, inwardly alert to any further attempted intrusion upon his mind.
Just as he thought that telepath would stop his assault, as he began to heat a kettle on his stove, he felt that same brush against his consciousness he had felt earlier. He focused, tuning all out, wanting to block this persons invasion. He knew he could do it. He had been told so, and not only that, he could feel his power rising within him, almost telling him what he was capable of. If only he could...

Training As he felt the telepath invade his mind once again, he knew he could do this. He took in a deep breath, holding it in and focusing his new and expanded ability. He tensed his power signature, and his mind and finally he felt their presence receded. Or in actuality, he still felt it there, trying to get a read on his thoughts but his mind was... shielded somehow. The mind reader could glean nothing from his shrouded brain.
He grinned as he realized he had done it. He had mastered his power and that made everything he had just gone through fade into the background. He loved his metagene and how it made him special, and soon, the Others wouldn't be able to do anything to him. He would be too valuable of an asset to lose, no matter what his doubts were. He was proud of himself, though he was still curious as to one thing...
Why now? he wondered, Why today? He had been targeted by two sets of people and he had feeling this was perhaps just the beginning. Perhaps he knew something that the Others wanted him monitored to make sure it didn't get out? Or perhaps it was simply the fact that a rogue power detector could harm them in ways another metahuman could not. Regardless, it was time for him to leave, and make sure that he keeps an eye on his surroundings at all times. Otherwise, his next stop maybe some place worse than the grave...
