Hiya everyone.

So, I've been playing guitar for years now, and have had multiple sit-downs with teachers and guitar players alike, and I still have the same old problem- there is always ONE note out of a grand barre chord I cannot play. I have relatively tiny hands and stubby fingers compared to most serious guitarists, but it's never stopped me before. However, this is my weak point.

The grand barre chord, no matter what position or formation, rings out flawlessly, except for the g-string. The 2nd knuckle crease of my finger is directly over that string, and no matter how I rotate my finger to use the edge of it or apply more pressure. the string is either deadened or buzzing. Surprisingly, it's never made much of a difference to me before, but I've come across a song I desperately wish to play (Jerry Cantrell's "Satisfy") and I NEED to hammer on to that string with my middle finger from a barred note. I'd be happy to post a video of my screwing up if someone is willing to help me. Any positioning tips, tricks to just get through this particular song (I'll post the tab at the end so you can see what it is I'm working on. Extremely simple song, but a beautiful one), or ways to tape/fix my knuckle to get rid of the crease would be much appreciated. Please and thank you!!! :biggrin
