Metallica Fact Help!

 Is there something you've wanted to mention in your fic, but you're not sure how the actual story goes? Have a question about Metallica?

Ask here and hopefully, someone will answer.

Ok, I'm gonna start here... Does anyone have information about the Metallica plane? Does it have a name? What model of plane it is?

As far as I am concerned they don't have a plane. They use rented jets. During the Black album tour though there was this plane they always used with "Metallica" painted on it, but that disappeared after the tour was over.

I don't know what model the planes have been, but I am fairly sure that Lars has since purchased the band's current private jet.

In one interview he said it stands for Family both his family and Metallica family and Faith.

It's not really for a fic, but more of a "fact" that a family friend told me and I don't really know what to think about it.

Apparently, the family friend claims her brother(in his late 40s now) was in a band with Lars when they were both 16 in Glendale or near Glendale. She said they were in a small band but they kicked Lars out for his lack of drumming skills.

While she told me this I just stood there scanning my mind for any trace of reading this somewhere but then I remembered Lars saying that Metallica was his first band ever. :blink:

I've tried researching it but I just can't find anything.

Anybody know anything about this?

 Sounds like a good load of bullshit. In 1979, when he wasn't in Denmark, he was in Florida smoking weed instead of playing tennis, and was too happy to go back to Denmark when he could. He only really learned how to play drums toward 1981, too, and that was for future Metallica. He probably couldn't care less about some tiny band in Glendale (city he had no reason to visit as far as I know anyway).

That's what I pretty much thought, though I didn't want to be rude and call her out on it. I also didn't want to believe something that I was doubting majorly.
