Hey authors! We want the fic forum to feel more welcoming, so, the first step to that, we moderators feel, is getting to know each other! So, in this thread, introduce yourself, in as many words as you want, but be sure to tell the following, at least: - your name - age - location - the pairings you like to write - het/slash/gen - challenges you're open to - what stories you're writing at the moment - are you open to co-authoring fics with other authors |

So, I'm Minna, 23 years old and I'm from Finland. I'm a James girl, so, I mainly write James fics, more specifically James/OFC. Occasionally I may write some gen, but mostly just het. No slash for me. I'm open to all challenges, keeping in mind what I said above. I'm currently (re)writing Too Late, Too Late (James/OFC), the first Metallica fic I started writing back in 2004 (a long time ago!), I'm also working on writing short prompts (James) and I have three other fics that I'm writing when I can, not posting yet (False Truth: James/OFC, Hero of the Day: Lars/OFC and a new untitled one: James/OFC) I am open to co-authoring, yes, again, keeping in mind what I said above haha. I may be planning on co-authoring something with someone, too.

HAI. I'm Trish, 23, from California. I write slash, gen and het. Mainly slash. Mainly James/Lars. Okay, almost exclusively James/Lars. But I occasionally write For het fics, I like writing Lars. I hate OFCs. They have to be done really, really, REALLY well for me to like them. I also hate het fics that demonize Lars and make him the bad guy that the OFC puts down into his place. The second a het fic does that, I'm out of there. I prefer reading and writing fics about Lars with one of his past wives/girlfriends. Lars/Connie is my absolute favorite. I write a lot. I mean. I'm Lori, 33, from Minnesota, US. I used to write Metslash all the time, but I stopped "seeing"/ "feeling" it, so no more Metslash for me. ¬¬ I don't even like reading it anymore.  I like reading the het stuff though, as long as it features an OFC. But I won't read just anything... I have a couple of favorite authors, and I'll just leave it at that. I still write read/ write other slash fandoms, mostly Rammstein and Eisbrecher these days.  Pairings? Rammstein: Till/ Flake, Richard/ Paul, Ollie/ Schneider, sometimes Till/ Oliver or Richard/ Oliver, but I despise Till/ Richard (the most popular pair). Eisbrecher: Alexx/ Jürgen and Alexx/ Noel. For Metallica, my favorite pairings were James/ Kirk and James/ Cliff. I'll still read those if they are mostly romance/ fluff. I have a soft spot for the cute stuff.  I'm always in the middle of writing something, though I don't make much time for it these days... |

Hi, I'm Helena from Connecticut, 33. I like to write Kirk/Lars, Kirk/James. I like and write alot of slash. I'll get as creative as my imagination lets me...  So I'm open to new things. Before this forum, I used to write mostly het, and now I've only written one and put it on here.Currently, I have one unfinished fic on here, just haven't had time for it.  And if it worked out, yea I'd co-author something...

Hi Everyone! I'm Cheryl, 27 from New Zealand. I'm also one of the Fan Fic Mods. I write only het these days, although in the past I have written slash, only Kirk/Lars, and one James/Kirk and Kirk/Rob. When I started writing metfic a few years ago, I wrote mostly Kirk, and now I write a lot of James. My first metfic was an epic (here in finished fictions) called Keala. It was a Kirk/Lani story that also followed the lives of the whole metallica family. This fic started my main fic interest which is writing met wives. I also have several James/Francesca stories, a few Rob/Chloe stories and a Lars/Connie oneshot. I also started a Lars/Skylar epic called Tiburon Sky which is currently unfinished. I also like unconventional pairings: e.g I have written, Francesca/Jason, Lani/Jason, Ross Halfin/Kirk and I'm working on a Lou Reed/Lani. This past year I've written two James/OFC fics: Call Me Francesca and the sequel, A French Connection. The OFC is Belle de Jour or Hannah from the UK tv show The Secret Diary of a Call Girl, who is hired by James as company on summer tours 2010 and 2011. I like to write fictional stories as though they might be real, as I think this hightens the sense of reality for the reader. I often write stories based on real events. I am happy to co-author with just about anyone, provided you come to me with a great idea that intrigues me! I'm also happy to beta fics from anyone and answer any questions about the board.

Good idea  I'm Audrey, 24, from France. I mostly write slash, especially James/Lars. My other favorite pairings would be James/Jason, James/Dave and James/Kirk, but yes, I've considered writing/reading pairings that don't have James in them.  I'm a lot more difficult when it comes to het. Lars/Connie is probably my favorite pairing.I'm currently trying hard to finish The Hills Ran Red, and a lot of other stories still only published on my computer. I'm also in the process of revising The Small Hours, and have quite a few plotbunnies of the same weird kind jumping around in my head. And I've been wanting to write something with Kirk in the main pairing since last summer. All in all, I'm not what you could call a prolific author. You don't want to co-author with me, really. |

My name is Torr, I'm nearly 24... and I'm going to stop rhyming things because, fuck all rhymes with England. I'm an almost exclusive slash writer. I find it hard to write gen because, I don't know... bleh. I always get stuck when I write my het fics. Pairings I've written: To do with Metallica, name them. I've tried most of them LOL. My most written is James/Kirk. When I write het, it's usually James/OFC. I like crossovers. So sue me. If I could see it in my head -I don't care what the purists say- it's probably coming off my fingers, through my keyboard and being burnt into your retina! I've written a lot of fan fiction, most of it is crap LOL. All been done since I've been on metchix (coming up for 4 years). Do you want to Co-Author with me? That's for you to decide. Mah current partnuh and meh have been all type-y for eight munfs.

I'm Shaina, 24 from Pennsylvania. I am a new fanfic writer and I'm working on my first fanfic right now called To Meet Again. I have not been updating regulary do to writers block. I am a HUGE James girl! He is the most gorgeous thing on the face of the planet. I have a few fanfics that have to deal with James some one shots and a few long ones. I don't get into the slash thing and I have no clue what "gen" means lol. I'm open to co-authoring but I'm a very busy person being a single mom and working and school, so I don't know how often I could help with writing a fic. I love any compliments and constructive criticsm. |

Gen is short for general. It means stories that focus on friendship and have no pairings. So no James/OFC (het, short obviously for heterosexual), or no James/guy (slash). |

Hi, I'm Olya, 42, originally from Russia, live in US for the last 13 years. I never thought of writing, never tried anyway, until I found this forum. It's all started over MSN and PMs and then I couldn't stop....lol I write het, and since I'm Jamesexual, it's all about him with exception of one fiction with double pairing: James/OFC, Kirk/OFC. I have a few finished fics I'm The One Who Waits For You..., Astronomy Of The Wicked Sky, Dark Highway and a She's a Good Girl. I never think what to write, just sit down and it comes, plots unravel themselves... Currently working on Wherever I Belong... and almost done with it. I never considered myself as a writer, I do it for fun and for the love of James of course. I think that's about it... |

hey, i'm Katie, 20 from West Des Moines, IA.... the fan-fic i'm currently doing is A Thrash in Time (or "AThIT" for short) W/ other Drabbles on the side aswell.....& I write mostly about the whole band....no slash involved (Sorry but please forgive me) since i've been doing the same Fan-fic since may............i can't really say at this moment about the pairings  -Mmmmmi'm going w/ Shaina on the Het/Slash/Gen thing (i've read the answer to the gen Genre of fics ......tnx Isis  )my challenge would be: Write longer stories &/or paragraphs.....(just to get the ideas flowing & going in the skull) i'm really open to co-author other fics.......i can PM anybody with an idea or two sometime  Edited by picklegal1, Jan 1 2012, 12:06 PM.

Hi, I am Cosmic Gerbil. I'm from England and I'm old enough to remember the 80s I think I started writing in 1982...that is the furthest back that I can remember writing a story  My fave pairings include: Dave/Lars, James/Dave, James/Cliff (usually as friendship, though really nice and fluffy ), Dave/Junior and James/Jason. I prefer slash stories I am open to any challenges but I won't write anything where a real person gets killed because that feels all wrong to me  I'm writing a slash story at the moment...its working title is "Car", which is really crap and it needs a better title I would be happy to co -author with other writers
