There are not enough hours in a day to get everything done that I need to get done so that I can actually sit down and write!! |

This. And I wish I could finally settle on a fucking idea and just write it without fear of how much it's going to suck. I need to turn my damn brain off. |

Tell me about it! We need a virtual loop in universe, timeless, limitless place, with no one interrupting!!!! If only... *goes back to cleaning the house* 'Fucking house chores, why can't it all clean itself?"

I wish I could turn my brain off too and just work away mindlessly, not even worrying about what I'm typing! I really shouldn't even be on here. I'm supposed to be catching up on papers and such...oh well @ Olya & Bo: I hear you ladies! An endless time loop would be a life saver! Or at the very least a 36 hour day. It would give us the 24 hours to get our stuff done and an extra twelve to get some decent sleep!! |

When I get in that mode it's wonderful. I end up writing scenes and stories I end up loving forever (CIT, Blue Notebooks, Nova, etc). It's all about finding the right tone, right atmosphere, right first line, right dialogue, right mood to be in. If there's music playing in the background or no music, day or night, in bed or on my bean bag or on the floor or outside near a pond... once my brain stops thinking and telling me how much I suck, I end up writing. Today wasn't one of those days. Again. |

Submit your ideas to the detector if you want, but I'm warning you, I'm blunt.

LOL, woo! I think it's because of personal stuff, not sure. Usually at work I can write, and last week I did (drabbles), but I guess it's because I haven't written at least half or finished a whole story that I'm proud of to share publicly. *shrugs* Meh. At least I'm writing... somewhat. Not really. Okay last five days I haven't written crap, just come up with ideas. Sigh. I can attempt a drabble, but again, that won't be shared, lol. |

I'm sure you have someone reading your drabbles and giving you feedback? In general, I can't imagine you writing something that non-presentable to public eye. But I understand the feeling of dissatisfaction with own writing. It doesn't matter what anyone else says, it just can't be perfect until it feels perfect to the writer herself. |

Well usually I post them on my own forum, for archival purposes, so if anyone's really hankering for something to read I have a hundred drabbles written. Working makes me write more, hilariously. But sometimes I hold onto them and only one person can see them (hi Audrey). Mainly because they were being written *for* that one person (hi Audrey) usually. And at least I have a bullshit detector when I write something shitty (hi Audrey) though she tends to say I rock no matter what (HI--okay that's enough). Anyway, I hear that about perfection. I slaved away over Come Back for four months to the point where it wasn't even a joy writing it all the way through. It was only in small spurts. I agonized over flow, atmosphere and tone for about every sentence, changing a word here, changing sentence structure there, pushing my mind to rephrase a certain sentence and then remove flowery details for stronger, concise sentences with powerful images, and then changed internal dialogue into actual thoughts, caught the telling and changed that to showing... it was murder on Earth and in the end, I'm not a big fan of the story. Others liked it, but I don't go back to re-read it like I do Blue Notebooks, because CB, to me, was and always will remind me of that time period, and how hellish it was writing it, and BN always reminds me of that joy it was like writing that story from top to bottom in 24 hours with little to no sleep and it just clicked. And yet, to my critic eye, CB is probably the better written story, but BN is the better story overall. Go figure. Anyhoo... There's some reasons why I'm not comfortable right now posting anything is because, well... okay, there's a couple different reasons lol, but the main reason is because I only like to post my best, like Blue Notebooks, Come Back, Morning Bird and such (though, Child in Time will never be posted here, I've decided, neither will its sequels), the ones that I worked on the hardest and the ones that I believe show off my skills and such. While on my personal forum, I post everything I write (others post there too but yeah, I have a section just for me, lol). Because really, if I posted everything I write... the slash finished fic section would have an additional 15 pages added on. I'm not joking. (Het/Gen never will have to worry about that. I've only finished, what? 3. lol.) And it'd all be James/Lars and who wants to read that?
