@Lucifer's Angel: Me too! I definitely think Kat's mom likes torturing her daughter. Omg, yeah, Kat should definitely run off with Dave! xD @Lilith: Very true! I bet she will find a way to escape somehow or the other. Kat's a fighter. Thanks for reading!@Wishful: Same here, I would have run away by now too! And haha, yes, she should get it on with Dave soon! He's such a hot guy. @Gio: Yay, you're still reading! *parties* Haha, she will get naughty with Dave very soon...please keep reading! Chapter XI With thoughts of Dave still in my head, I fell into a deep sleep that night. In fact, I was sleeping so deeply that I slept right through my alarm and was awakened the next morning by Lisa smacking her pillow on my head! Very tired, I glance up at Lisa and mumble, "Go away." Lisa gives me a look like I'm crazy and says, "You have to leave for school in five minutes! You should get up!" "Huh?" I mumble in confusion before glancing over at my alarm clock. To my horror, Lisa is right! I have to leave for school in five fucking minutes! I immediately shoo Lisa out of my room and dig through my drawers for something to wear. Today, I don't care if I look attractive or not. I grab a black skirt that goes to just below my knees and throw on a black sweater with my black tank top on under it. If I can't be sexy, maybe I can be goth... "Katherine! Hurry up! It's impolite to keep Abigail waiting!" mother calls from the living room. I let out a string of curses under my breath and am suddenly glad that mother can't hear me from in here. Since I don't have much time, I scrub off the makeup smears from last night and rake the hairbrush through my hair before tying it in a low ponytail. Sure, it's not attractive, but I just have to focus on getting out of here on time. I race through the hallways and grab my school bag before turning and waving to my mother to let her know that I am leaving. Mother just stares at me with hard eyes and does not wave back. I decide not to let that bother me and run down the driveway to where Abi is waiting for me in her car. Without any delay, I throw the car door open and slide inside. Abigail immediately starts the car and drives towards school. Neither of us speak for a few minutes. I can't tell if she's still mad at me or not. Finally, Abigail gives me a small smile and says, "Hey, I'm not mad, you know. I think what you did last night was foolish, but I'm not upset. How are you?" "Honestly? I'm not sure. On one hand, I had the best night ever last night," I admit, blushing slightly as I remember Dave's hand sliding under my shirt. "But mom won't let me go to prom now." "Oh," Abi replies simply, thinking this through. After a few seconds, she shrugs and says, "That's really not so bad though, you know? Prom would've just been another chance to get into trouble for you. Besides, did Dave actually invite you to prom?" I think about this and realize that Dave never did invite me to prom. Frowning, I shake my head and say, "No. No, he didn't." "Well, you're not missing much then," Abigail says, always acting as the optimist. For once, I just kinda wish that she would feel sorry for me instead. I would really like some sympathy. However, Abi has already changed the subject and is asking me, "So what did you and Dave do yesterday anyways?" "Um..." I think rapidly, knowing that I'm going to have to lie to Abigail. "We just studied trig. That's all." Abigail snorts and rolls her eyes at me as we drive into the school parking lot. She says, "Yeah, right. I'm not that stupid, Kat! Dave doesn't study trig. What did you guys really do?" "Uh..." I try again to think of a good excuse, but nothing pops into my head. Seeing that we are now parked, I quickly pop the car door open and ignore Abi's question as I exclaim, "Oh look! We're at school. I guess I'd better get going if I want to make it to chemistry on time. I'll see you after school!" Abigail nods and gives me a firm look as she replies, "Yes, you will see me after school. We are going straight home." I nod sadly and hurry down the hallways that lead to the chemistry classroom. The last thing I need today is to be tardy and end up getting into trouble with one of the teachers. I'm walking so fast that I don't bother to look where I'm going and end up slamming into someone. Smack! I hobble backwards and glance up dazedly to find myself staring into bright brown eyes. For a moment, I forget where I am, who I am, and what I'm supposed to be doing as I gaze into those eyes. From what seems like a long distance away, Dave asks me, "Hey, you alright?" "I suppose," I mumble, trying to get the world to stop spinning before my eyes. "What are you doing here?" "Uh, well, let's fucking figure that out," Dave says in a sarcastic voice. "Maybe it's because I actually go to this school too, huh?" I blush as I realize that my question was really stupid. Still not wanting to be late for class and also feeling a bit awkward around Dave after last night, I step forwards and try to walk around him. Dave frowns and immediately reaches out to grab my arm. His fingernails dig into my skin and I come to a halt. "Hey, don't you wanna talk to me?" Dave simpers, pulling me around so that we're face-to-face again. I have to admit that yes, I do want to talk to Dave, so I come to a halt and blink up at him. Dave glances at something on my face and suddenly asks, "God, what happened to your eye?" "Hm? There's something wrong with my eye?" I ask, immediately panicking. "Hell yeah. It's all purple and swollen," Dave replies honestly. "Did ya get attacked last night or what?" "Not exactly, no. I just sorta banged my head against the wall," I admit lamely, looking at the ground and waiting for Dave to laugh at me. "Do I look really ugly?" "Hm..." Dave muses, glancing at my eye before shrugging and saying, "Nah, you look badass. You really should put some makeup on though." I shrug and decide not to tell Dave about how much my mother hates makeup and all that. Dave won't understand. His life is the opposite of mine. "You're not very talkative today, you know that?" Dave tells me, reaching forwards and flicking a strand of hair out of my face. "What do you say to coming over to my place after school again?" Dave has just fixed me with a hard question. Truth be told, I would love to go over to his apartment again after school. I want to see where the two of us will end up when Matt and his brother aren't around. Unfortunately, I've just been grounded though. Mother has told me that I am to go directly to school and then come directly home. That means no stopping and hanging out at Dave's apartment. Sighing, I look at the ground and say sadly, "I can't. I wish I could though." "Why can't you?" Dave asks, raising an eyebrow at me. He still has a firm grip on my forearm. "It's my parents," I explain. "Last night, I was supposed to be home right after school so I could go to Monday night church group. Mother was mad that I missed the church group and that I was hanging out with someone she didn't know. She's kinda picky about who I hang out with." "Oh, fuck her," Dave mumbles, pursing his full lips as he tries to think of a way around this problem. For a moment, I find myself distracted and just focus on his lips. They aren't blood red and they're not exactly pink either. They're kind of in between the two colors. Kind of a combination between pink and peach if you ask me. Dave says something to me, but I'm too busy staring at his lips to hear what he just said. Blushing, I blink and meet his eyes again, asking, "What was that?" "I said...wait, you're not paying a fuck of attention to what I'm saying, are you?" Dave asks me as he takes in my expression. I blush a darker shade of pink. Oops, I've been caught! Dave, however, does not appear angry. Instead, he laughs and smirks as he adds, "You wanna kiss me, don't you?" My eyes widen and I wonder how Dave is able to read into my emotions so easily. Too shy to admit that I want to kiss him in the middle of the school hallway, I just shrug my shoulders and glance at Dave out of the corner of my eye. He's still smirking. I think he finds my antics cute. "Well, you little bitch," Dave whispers as he leans towards me. "You can do that and more if you're willing to break the rules for me." To be continued... |

@Lilith: Haha, I know! xD But we all love bastard Dave. Hopefully, he'll make her do dirty stuff! xD@Lucifer's Angel: I think you are definitely right. Dave always has good ideas! lol @Wishful: Hehe, Dave's gonna get her into trouble, isn't he? @Gio: LOL, maybe you do smell sex. You'll figure out if she ends up going with him or not in this chapter. ^^Chapter XII A battle initiates inside my head and inside my heart. My heart is telling me to screw my parents' rules and just go out with Dave after school. I'm not sure if I'm in love with him, but I am definitely infatuated with him. My head is telling me that I need to stop listening to my heart. It got me into loads of trouble last night and I really don't need a repeat of that. Unsure of what to do, I don't exactly answer Dave's question and instead say, "Mother was really angry at me last night. I've been grounded." "You've been grounded? God, who gives a shit about being grounded? You're seventeen for fuck's sake," Dave says, running a hand through his long waves of strawberry blonde hair. "That's actually not so bad considering that you're the preacher's daughter and all that." "That wasn't my only punishment," I frown, not wanting Dave to think that I got off easy. "I have to go to church on Sunday and help out with communion." "You always have to go to church," Dave points out. "Look, if it will help, I can come over and help you out with the fucking service if ya want." The thought of Dave at church is enough to make anyone laugh aloud. Still though, my parents never turn anyone away from church and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want Dave to come along. Looking a bit more hopeful, I lift my eyes to Dave's and ask, "You would really do that for me?" "Sure, bitch," Dave shrugs before he gets a twinkle in his eyes and adds, "You're gonna owe me for it though." "Oh really?" I ask, not exactly feeling alarmed at being indebted to Dave. I actually don't mind it so much. Whatever he wants from me isn't going to be too bad...I think. "Don't you wanna know what you're gonna owe me?" Dave asks, raising an eyebrow and looking surprised that I'm not asking him any questions. "Sure, I guess. But there's one more thing too," I add, suddenly feeling sad once again as I think about how my own chance to go to prom has been snatched away from me. Trying not to show just how emotional over it I am, I say solemnly, "Mother banned me from going to prom." "From what? Prom?" Dave echoes before laughing. I sigh and try not to show my frustration. How is it that Dave always seems to laugh at my problems? Still smirking, Dave says, "Prom ain't all that special. If you really want to get some action, just go to a fuckin' bar or club. There are plenty of those 'round here." "Yeah, that's great, but how am I going to get to one?" I ask Dave dubiously. "My parents would have a heart attack if they knew I put one foot into a bar. Abigail is the only friend my parents let me go out with and I know that there's no way she'd ever go to a bar or club." "Hey, if it's that important to you, I'll bring you to a club," Dave points out easily as if he's just offered to do my homework or something small for me. I give Dave a suspicious look. I have no idea how in the world he thinks he can get me out of my house and to a club. That just doesn't seem likely. Crossing my arms, I ask, "No shit?" "No shit," Dave replies. "You know, I thought you'd be kinda boring being the preacher's daughter and all. But you know what? I think you're kinda cool. It's been a hell of a time trying to sneak you around to places. It's more exciting then just laying around at home and getting stoned." "Um, thank you?" I say, not quite sure if Dave is trying to give me a compliment or not. "So," Dave says, "Now we just gotta figure out how to get you outta here. There's no way I can get you to go to my place after school?" "Um, well, I don't think so," I mumble, still battling with my conscience. I want to leave with Dave after school so badly, but I really don't want to get into more trouble either! Frowning, I look up at Dave helplessly and ask, "Why? Is there another option or something?" "Sure, there's another option. It's one that will allow you to get back to school before the bell rings too. Your bitchy friend won't even know you were gone," Dave winks at me. It takes me a moment to realize what Dave is suggesting. Does he actually want me to ditch school? I don't know if I can do that. Besides, look at the time! Class started five minutes ago! I try and pull away from Dave and point out, "Look, I'm already late! I gotta go." Dave doesn't let go of my arm. He's far stronger than me and I'm not going anywhere. Tilting his head at me, Dave says, "If you're late, why go at all? C'mon. You know you wanna ditch with me." I hesitate for one more moment before giving into Dave. I take a keep breath and say, "Alright." "Naughty girl," Dave smirks, reaching down and ruffling my hair as the two of us start towards the school entrance. "I knew you were gonna ditch school all along. It's such a waste of time here anyways." "School is a waste of time?" I echo, not really sure why Dave would consider school a waste of time. To me, it's always been the key element to getting a job someday. "Of course it is," Dave replies as we step out of the school and outside into the sunlight. My stomach starts to knot as I look back at the school, knowing that's really where I should be right now. Dave, however, does not look back at the school. Instead, he goes on to explain, "They don't prepare you for the real world. They don't tell you the shit that's really gonna help you in life. Tell me this. Do you have any fuckin' idea what you want to do for a job someday?" "Um...no," I admit sheepishly. "See? There's my point," Dave says.smugly as we turn the corner onto a street I'm unfamiliar with. I take a few more steps after Dave before realizing that we're not going to Dave's apartment. This part of town is a place I'm unfamiliar with. My parents have never brought me this way before. "Dave?" I ask, trying not to look too nervous. "Where exactly are we going?" "To this record store," Dave explains to me, acting as if he's been to this place loads of times. Knowing Dave, he probably has been. Dave glances at me out of the corner of his eye and says, "You remember how I can play guitar, right?" "Yeah, I do," I nod, remembering how Matt had mentioned it last night. "To me, a record store is like the devil's version of heaven. You can listen to all the heavy metal you want and Willow gives me albums for free. Well, not for free exactly, but you can't get somethin' for nothin'," Dave tells me as we approach a decent-looking record shop. I've never been in a record shop before. My parents don't really listen to music much. All we listen to is classical music every once in a while, but that's not all that often. I have to admit that I'm curious to find out what this record shop will be like on the inside. "What kind of music do you like to jam to?" Dave asks me as he steps up to the doors of the record shop confidently. For the first time, I notice that he has a box of some unknown substance tucked under one arm. I decide not to think about what Dave has in that box since I really don't want to know. "Um, well, I don't really get to listen to music much at my house," I admit. "Sometimes my parents play classical music, but that's it." "Shit! You've gotta learn to live a little," Dave tells me as he pulls the door to the record shop open. "Don't tell me that you've never heard Motorhead, Budgie, or Judas Priest before." I look at Dave blankly. I've never heard of any of those bands. However, for Dave's sake, I mumble, "Well, I might have heard of Judas Priest before maybe..." "Oh, don't bullshit me," Dave replies, rolling his eyes as I step inside the record shop with him. "You don't know a damn about music. But hey, no worries. I'll give you a lesson or two on metal." To be continued... |

@Lucifer's Angel: I know! Go Dave! xD Oh yes, her mom would probably have a headache for the rest of her life if she heard metal! @Wishful: That's a good prediction! Kat does appear to be a shit magnet. But I agree, lessons with Dave are awesome! ![]() @Lilith: Haha, yeah, who wouldn't want Dave to teach them how to misbehave? I definitely think she'll end up a complete rebel. xD @Gio: I hope not either...Kat definitely does deserve some fun! Don't worry; they'll go back to his place eventually. ^^ And lol, I do know what else you mean... ![]() Chapter XIII I nod and glance around the record shop curiously. Before I can get a good look at my surroundings, a pretty blonde girl hurries over to us. She's slender, taller than me, has pretty blue eyes, and bright red lips. I can't help but feel inferior to this girl. When I stand next to her, I pretty much fade from view. "Hey Dave," the girl says with a smile. "I was hoping you would come over here today. Did you bring it?" Dave glances at the package under his arm and says, "I wouldn't be here unless I had it. So...can I pick something out?" "Yeah. You can take two albums, but be quick about it. Meet me back here when you're done," the girl tells Dave, looking around a bit nervous before she waves us off. Dave immediately starts towards the albums with me trailing after him. As soon as we're out of hearing range of the girl, I raise my eyebrows at Dave and whisper, "Who was that? Why is she letting you pick out free albums? Why do we have to meet her when we're done?" "Can you shut the fuck up for two seconds?" Dave asks, his nose already buried in the albums. "I'll tell ya in a sec." Seeing that Dave is busy and that I shouldn't bother him, I bite my tongue and glance at the labels on the albums. Some are bands that Dave has already told me about such as Judas Priest and Motorhead. I also see bands I do not recognize though such as Iron Maiden and Ac/Dc. After about five minutes of careful looking, Dave takes two albums and starts back to the girl without answering any of my questions. I purse my lips and follow him, debating whether or not to ask my questions again. Glancing over his shoulder and noticing me, Dave nods towards the girl we're walking towards and says, "That's Willow, you know, the chick I was telling you about? She's the one who lets me pick out free albums in exchange for other shit. C'mon." I reluctantly follow Dave back to Willow. I don't like her already and I think it's more than just the fact that her beauty is superior to mine. What I really want to know is what 'other shit' Dave is referring to. He's obviously giving Willow something in exchange for the free albums, but what? I just know that this afternoon isn't going to end well for me. Kind of wishing that Dave and I could just go back to his apartment and hang out by ourselves there, I trudge after Dave as he returns to Willow with his new albums under his arm. Willow is tapping her foot impatiently and hasn't really noticed me yet. As Dave and I approach her, she suddenly realizes that Dave and I are together. Raising an eyebrow at Dave as he approaches her, Willow asks, "So this girl is with you? I don't remember you bringing girls with you when you came to see me before." "So?" Dave shrugs, grabbing my wrist and pulling me forwards. "She can just sit tight while we do business. Are you ready to go or what?" "Yep. Follow me," Willow says as she opens a side door to the record store and waves us in. I'm surprised to see that there is a little room inside the door. It doesn't seem to be related to the record shop at all. Seeing my look of shock, Willow says, "I live here with my dad. He runs the record shop. Right now, he's probably out getting drunk at a bar though." I can't help but feel sorry for Willow for at least the moment. Although my dad is really preachy, I rarely see him. He spends all of his time at church. Hell, I don't even know his likes or dislikes! Still though, an invisible father is much better than having a drunken bastard for a father if you ask me. Willow shuts the door behind us and I get a better look around. This isn't the nicest place by any means. The couch is dirty, the windows are cracked, and everything seems to be in disrepair. Willow starts towards a door at the opposite end of the room and turns to Dave, saying, "I'll meet you in a sec." Dave nods and the two of us watch Willow disappear into the other room. As soon as she's gone, I turn to Dave and ask, "What's she doing?" "It's part of our arrangement," Dave explains, shaking his head to get his strawberry blonde locks out of his eyes. "She gives me albums and I give her dope and other shit. So can you just entertain yourself for like thirty minutes? This shit won't take that long." "Um, I guess so," I shrug even though I would rather be hanging out with Dave instead of sitting around and doing nothing by myself. "Okay, just wait here. You can get into the fridge if you want somethin' to drink. Willow doesn't really give a damn as long as you don't trash the place. I'll be back soon," Dave tells me before he flips his hair over his shoulder again and crosses the room to the door Willow disappeared behind earlier. A second later, Dave is gone. There's something very annoying about being left all alone in a stranger's house with nothing to do. I'm bored even though a minute hasn't even passed. Great. It's going to be a long wait. I know that I should find something to do to entertain myself. Unfortunately, there's no TV or any magazines in the room. My feet start leading me in random directions and before I know it, I've found the kitchen. Willow's kitchen is probably the tiniest kitchen I've ever seen. All the kitchen exists of is a chair, a tiny table, and the refrigerator. Since Dave said I could get into the fridge, I open it up and see what's in there. Mostly, the fridge is filled with beer. Now I'm starting to see why Dave likes this place! However, I do notice a diet cola in the very back of the fridge. Since it's a hot day outside, I grab the cola and then shut the fridge again. For some reason, I don't want to stay in the miniscule kitchen and so I go back to the first room of Willow's house. Once there, I plop down onto the couch, open my cola, and wait. At first, I am perfectly content. The cola tastes nice and cold and it's nice to be sitting on a couch instead of being quizzed by Mrs. Del Ray. However, after a few minutes, my conscience starts bothering me. What if my parents find out about this? What if they know that I didn't go to school today? My stomach twists into a knot. If my parents find out about me ditching school, I'm gonna be dead. They won't trust me ever again (not like they trust me right now, but still). I shouldn't be here. I should be at school! As I start to feel quite uneasy, I wish that Dave would hurry up. How long is it going to take him to exchange drugs with Willow? Are they shooting up in a bathroom or smoking joints? Either way, they really ought to be done by now. It's starting to get a bit late and if we don't leave in the next half hour, I won't make it to school in time for Abi to drive me home! Despite my anxiety, I try to keep it together and wait patiently. Ten minutes pass, then fifteen, and then twenty-five. At this point, I am no longer waiting patiently. If Dave and I don't get out of here soon, I'm screwed! My parents will kill me, Abi will be very pissed off at me, and I'll probably be locked in the house so my parents can supervise me. Frowning, I get up from the couch and decide to go figure out what Dave and Willow are up to. If Dave managed to get drunk, he's probably forgotten about me completely and won't bother leaving Willow's place for another few hours. I cross the room and go to the door Dave and Willow entered. I knock on it gently, but nothing happens. Unable to help it, I find myself eavesdropping. I press my ear to the door and listen. At first, all I hear is silence. However, after a few minutes of close listening, I can hear panting from inside the room. Odd. What's the panting from? My curiosity is piqued and I'm determined to find out what Dave and Willow are doing at this point. Very quietly, I lean forwards and push the door open with my shoulder since it isn't completely closed. The door pushes open soundlessly and gives me a clear picture of a dingy bedroom. The bedroom isn't all that interesting to be though. It's what's on the bed that attracts my attention. My jaw drops and although I know I should not stare, I cannot help myself. To be continued... |
