Mine would be NEM. But, since i don't have much time to practice and nobody to jam with, my skills aren't developing as quickly as they should be and I still have serious trouble with solos. Which will mean I still have a long way to go and lots more to practice.

Oh well, you do what you have to for rock 'n roll, right? :wink :biggrin

Aren't you able to get more time for it?
It's a shame if you can't develop your skills because of lack of time.

I'd love to have more time to practice, but I seem to be constantly busy, and when I do practice I get interrupted by someone. My hope is that when I get my own place, without having to share with anyone, then I will have full weekends to practice without interruption. Until then, I'm afraid it can't be helped.

Enter Sandman, 2 years ago. I still can't play the solo. I've been concentrating on my exams for classical guitar and such. It's mostly all the riffs I can play. I can play (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth on bass now though

Well I play bass and I learn:

Enter sandman
Nothing else matters
For Whom the bells tolls
Master of puppets
Whiskey in the Jar
Mama said (really easy lol)
And more
Now I'm learning Orion

The first song I learned was One, than Fade to Black with my fingers, and I tought myself the Nothing Else Matters S&M solo. I can play bits and pieces all over the place. Its fun to just play along, and try and learn solos.

Creeping Death on bass guitar. Hell yes. My favorite part to play is the bridge, but the song itself is so bad ass. It's really fun to play too! :D

The first song I learned was Enter Sandman on bass. It's a great song to play everytime. I have lots of fun. On guitar I learned Seek & Destroy and on drums I learned Fuel. I made a little arrangement on piano for Fade to Black and it was turning out pretty good, but I gave up on it due to lack of time. Maybe I'll pick it up again sometime. :dance

The first Metallica song I learned on the guitar was actually "Harvester Of Sorrow". I love the melodic sound of that song as well.

Wow, this thread is so old
Anyway, first song of theirs that I learned was One (on acoustic guitar).
Then came Sad But True, then Enter Sandman, then Nothing Else Matters and after that I don't remember what order the rest of them came in :P

Fade to Black. I was 13 and just learning guitar when I met (my now best friend) Emery. He was a senior at the time, and spent his free period in the band classroom practicing HIS guitar. Well, I heard him playing FTB and the rest is history. :biggrin

First I learned was the intro of NEM. The boy next door actually taught me, before I got into Metallica. It was one of the reasons (small on though) why I went to listen to Metallica songs.

First I actually learned myself was Enter Sandman.
