the first song that I learned was Enter Sandman (on guitar), but without the solo so it's boring to hear me playing it, that was my first full song , the very first thing I ever played of metallica was the first 20 second of "One"

I started with an easy, humble song, MOP lol just kidding... I first heard of Metallica by a bet, a friend heard me playing Green Day and getting awfully bored with easy punk stuff so he dared me to try to learn a song and it happened to be MOP and I fell in love with it. I learned all the rhythm riffs a long time ago but I still can't play the second solo at the same speed... Every couple of months I try again and eventually give up

My first Metallica song was Fade to Black. I took a week to actually play it well, without the solos. Now I'm just practicing them. |

The first song I learned by myself was Ain't my bitch ![]() Well, only the rythm part but I was so proud of me! (even if nobody at home knew the song so they were like "Er...cool! What's that?") I think it was the very first song I learned on guitar, not counting NEM's intro

My guitar teacher showed me about 39 seconds into Master Of Puppets. I remember when I'd come back the fallowing lesson and showed him how I was doing on it and that I had gotten the hang of the chops he was like, "...yeah...YEAH! Keep playing!" and he opened the door to the little room I was taking my lesson in and turned up the volume on my amp to let another guy and his student hear us. The guy was like, "Hey, could you guys please turn that music down?" He was teaching his student a country song. And my teacher, Dave, just laughed and told me to keep playing.
