First part of a Metallica song I could play on guitar was the intro to One. I remember being very proud of that haha. First song I was able to play through was, I believe, Seek & Destroy :)

I learned some songs at the same time, but I don't remember which one was the very first, between Master Of Puppets, Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven. Anyway, these were the first songs I learned on guitar, eight years ago

Singing: Master of Puppetts. I always sing it.

Guitar: I don't exactly rmeember wich one was first but it's either Seek and Destroy or For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Bass: (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth.

Violin: The Unforgiven.

Piano: MOP interlude.

Cello: Fade to Black.

The last two were EXTREMELY painful and took hours of concentration. D<

Me too! Only I'm sure u didn't learn it on cello lol. No one (except Apocalyptica fans) seems to get it thru their heads that cellists can be HEAVYYYY :horns:

I do it by ear. I don't play cello regularly so I just did it by sound and after many days of just messing around, I got a lot down. Right now I'm working on Symphony of Destruction the cello group Primitivity. I met their female cellist at another performance with the Carpe Diem String Quartet.

I do it by ear too... but then I write them down on some generic manuscript paper so I can A.) Share them and B.) have them just in case I forgot how to play a part of it or need to work on it. Plus I just like to have the notes in front of me I guess. :)

I learned the intro and first half of TDTNC on my flute a while back. The person didn't put up the second half of the sheet music on PDF or something so i couldn't finish teaching myself the song...i was sad :( It's so hard to find flute music online and I really want to learn to play bass guitar or something. :)

I would recommend sticking to Treble cleft.

Flute - Treble Cleft
Bass Guitar - Bass Cleft
Guitar - Treble Cleft

Unless you already know how to read both. ^_^
I can, but I mess up a LOT.

I know how to read both (sort of) since I was trying to help my friend play his trumpet scales and we learned the difference in band this year and also in my flute lessons as well :) I REALLY want to learn how to play a new instrument...like badly. I love my flute but i just want to try something...different :P
